    it just feels so good to play,, still haven't found my favourite electric piano sounds , had it 5 years & love it.

  • @peterpiperpuppets330

    after reading comments , I must continue to say this instrument is great as it is , the action is brilliant & I spent days in stores trying out other keys & just kept running back to this one . I bought it because I wanted electric pianos & some great organ sounds , everything else is a bonus. I did have a krome , which i liked a lot ,but the action on this surpasses that. I also have a Havian 30 , which has 88 , but as nice as it is to play , the SV1 just does it for me.

    Great demo! I'm about to purchase one of these slightly used at a great price. Logistically this is a great gigging keyboard. I even measured my vehicle (2004 Ford Explorer) the SV-1 73 (in its Korg rolling gig case) will fit nicely either in the back cargo space or across the back seat. The SV weighs about the same as my Kronos 61. Will probably use it as my "meat & potatoes" keyboard with weighted action for piano and EPs. The Kronos synth action will still handle organ smears and synth solo lines. One thing I also considered was my 2 tier Ultimate Support Apex stand which has always been a favorite of mine with its small stage footprint (and it looks great with two black synths!). However the Apex presents a problem stacking certain synths. The bottom can be to view - not so with the SV on bottom since it has the forward facing panel - problem solved! I'm stoked!

    For who say that organ and synth have no dynamic, i would like to remind that no hammond organ or combo or minimoog kind of synth (just an example) or mellotron had dynamic at all. So there i no point to say that is something missing, is the right way they did work

    • @samueltiffany2665
      @samueltiffany2665 5 лет назад

      To be fair it doesn't have organ drawbars or Synth filters. Don't get me wrong this is a fine electric piano

    • @PaulTheSkeptic
      @PaulTheSkeptic 5 лет назад +1

      Most organs come with a volume pedal for your foot. Many rock and/or jazz players don't really use it that much but the way an organ is traditionally played, there are a lot of dynamics. In fact I'd go as far to say that, with all the harmonics and a Leslie, the organ is extraordinarily dynamic. You can get the softest most delicate sounds and the most uproarious and grandly loud sounds.
      Listen to Dr. Lonnie talking about the dynamics of the Hammond organ in his own unique way. ruclips.net/video/g0ieCmTEvy0/видео.html

    I read here many comments like, slugghish as a piano? Weighted keyobards are slow.. synth keybards are fast etc etc,
    Sorry but i have to say i tried the SV1 and is not slow at all, also is not stiff!
    If someone can't play a weighted keyboard or piano keyboard fast, is not piano keyboard's fault, he is slow, he is the one that need to improve his piano playing with proper exercise!

    Totally not a keyboard player but would this be a good keyboard to get a Fender Rhodes sound?

    • @PaulTheSkeptic
      @PaulTheSkeptic 5 лет назад +5

      Absolutely. This is ONE of the best Rhodes emulators out there. It doesn't sound *exactly* like a real Rhodes but then, nothing really does except a Rhodes. But if you love vintage keyboard sounds, especially electric piano, this is definitely what you need. The alternative might be the Nord Piano series or Stage series. Nord makes excellent keyboards but you sure pay for it. They'll make a pretty substantial dent in your bank account.

      Yamaha reface cp with external midi controller

    • @PaulTheSkeptic
      @PaulTheSkeptic 5 лет назад

      That's an excellent question. mwow is probably right. The Yamaha Reface does sound pretty good but the keyboard sucks. You'd have to have some kind of external controller. Probably something with weighted keys if you want that. In the meantime, you must have something lying around. An old Casio can actually control MIDI. Some of them anyway.
      Or, you might consider getting a really good electric piano VST and just buying a MIDI controller. A lot of people are going in that direction. But, if you want to use it live, I guess you could do it with a laptop.
      You might be tempted to go with a workstation type keyboard. They're less expensive and they sound pretty awesome on RUclips but if you really want good electric piano sounds, it's probably not going to satisfy you. I bought a Yamaha MX49 and I like it and all but the keyboard instruments (organ, Rhodes etc) don't quite sound as good as they did on RUclips. It came with some pretty impressive VST's though. If I could only figure them out. Lol. But then again, in that case you're better off buying a Yamaha controller that comes with the same package of software.
      I hope this helped.

  • @MrPonkine
    @MrPonkine 6 лет назад +6

    There really should be a Korg SV2. The SV1 has several unbearable faults: first and foremost: volume levels AREN'T matched between sounds. Organ is easily twice as loud as piano. Same with that "Van Halen's Jump" synth. Second: not all sounds have touch sensitivity. Again, organ and synths are examples. Third. You can't layer sounds. fourth: not enough sound library. The present one is so limited. And finally, keyboard action is stiff, making it hard to play. All these faults should be corrected for a new edition. The idea behind the SV1 was so cool, but it could be so much better.

      ...smh...

    • @MrPonkine
      @MrPonkine 5 лет назад

      @guinness4life A professional instrument simply cannot have such volume differences between sounds. When you're playing piano, and then you change to organ, you must turn it down because of the 100% jump in volume. That's simply unacceptable. And with today's technology, there should be able to choose from dynamic or not dynamic response for each voice. My 20+ year humble Yamaha PSR can do that and much more!. A SV2 is much needed. the SV1 is already outdated.
