AJ is obviously a big fan of Adele! The same day that Adele released this song, within a few hours, Angelina released a short TikTok version, and then immediately began work on this studio performance which was released perhaps 3 or 4 DAYS later! Amazing!
You will find that when ever AJ covers a song she always puts something of the original artist into it. It's her way of paying respect to the origenal.

Adele will get it, when she first dropped she went on the live lounge and absolutely shit all over a Cheryl Cole song when she covered it, I still go back and watch it now and it was years ago.
I can see in your face that you not only hear Angelina, you feel her emotions.
In my opinion “Easy On Me” is not the greatest song, it is great because the finest vocalist of our time has chosen to perform it, Angelina Jordan. Angelina Jordan has the ability to take the mundane and make it spectacular. If I were a song writer, I would be beating down AJ’s door.
You know, now that you've noted this, it is absolutely true, this point. I just never stopped to consider, but now that I have, yes!
Adele wrote a good song, yes, but it's one that another artist can perform and
the song can become MORE..

Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of another great performance by Angelina - this time of a great Adele song. I think both Adele & Angelina are great singers, but what differentiates Angelina is her innate GOD given gift of also being able to emote the essence of each song she sings direct to our hearts & souls allowing us to also deeply FEEL the music as it flows through her. You picked up her Amy Winehouse vibe. Highly recommend Angelina's cover of Back To Black which she performed with KORK (Norwegian Radio Orchestra) - at the age of 10. And even though she changed some lyrics (at her Mom's request) to be more age appropriate, she retains the original song melody & flow. (In fact when I listen with my eyes closed, I see Amy :). Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.

Her soft and exciting version of this song made me completely forget the original version, I love her ability to find the musical texture of any song and change it into a sweeter and more expressive texture of the same. She is simply unique and magical. 💛🧡❤

The vocal toolkit that Angelina has is remarkable. It’s partially on display in this song: breathiness, runs, riffs, range, belts, killer vibrato, power, softness-all done with Angelina’s trademark ease. Like many of her covers, I like it more than the original even when I liked the original very much. Like most of her other songs, it’s just minimal musical accompaniment. Angelina is out there with no cover, singing beautifully and interpreting the lyrics so that we understand every word.
While Adele wrote this song about her career and divorce, Angelina relates to the lyrics since she didn't get the chance to feel the world around her because she was so immersed in her singing. Angelina chose to sing because she IS music and wants to share her music with the world. Please introduce someone to Angelina today. Soul Session, please remind viewers to always watch, like and comment on the original video.
Andy, in my opinion there is even more to the story as to why Angelina emotes this story so well. She was a child prodigy at 7 and has been in the industry ever since. We know she loves what she does, but she didn't have the chance to choose what she chose either. And I think she is sending the message to go easy on her as she finds her way. At least that is my interpretation.
On another note, all reactors should fully support their featured artists. That is especially true for those that want to grow their channels and enhance fan loyalty. For me, there is a disconnect when a reactor highly praises and gravitates toward a particular artist, but does not make the effort to support that artist more fully. If you truly love an artist, it is natural to want to help! And in Angelina's case, she is still very young and needs that support tremendously. It would be an easy step for Soul Sessions to add a link for the official Channel and to verbally encourage viewers to like comment and subscribe to Angelina and also her own channel so that they both benefit.

Soul Sessions, when you discussed Angelina's voice, you nailed it. I don't know if you are aware that she is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices! She can adjust her tone and style and pitch to create the vibe of many different artists who have been influences during her career. As You say, Adele and Amy Winehouse are two of those influences. You said that this song reminds you of Adele singing, and of course it is an Adele song, so Angelina has adjusted her style to fit. It is a very unique ability.

Happy Sunday, Adrianna. I hear you about those soft, tender, breathy bits. Add to that her sense of artistry to know when to add ornamentation to a melodic line (and how much to add without overdoing it to the point where the song becomes more about the singer than the story). Same goes for playing with lightness/darkness/warmth/rasp, etc. Perhaps the reason you hear many other singers within Angelina's voice is that her gift, talent, instrument & style have combined to give her incomparable versatility. Rather than trying to mimic anyone, she just presents her unique interpretation. In however many years it'll likely be Angelina's voice people hear in those who are then new to the music scene. Hello, Triple S. I absolutely love this song, and your description of Angelina's voice makes total sense. This is a touching song, based on a universal experience of mothers with adult or young adult children. Angelina brings in a level of compassion for all the players in the story. That's what the breathy approaches do, and the belting cries the pain, especially the mother pain. But in the breathier moments there is a space for compassion. Anyway, it isn't easy to find the right words for any of these experiences with Angelina Jordan's vocal artistry. Thank you for this Sunday gift. Grandma Ellen, over & out. 💜

He breaks down both singers in all sections of this song and determines that Angelina's
rendition is superior. The difference between the singers is that when it comes to heartfelt
ballads, one has to realize Adele is a non-jazz singer, whereas Angelina is 'rooted' in the
jazz genre and there is no way a non-jazz singer can match the emotion laden output that
a true jazz specialist is able to do. Because Angelina is a 'vocal chameleon', you will think
it's Adele actually singing in parts of Angelina's rendition. But then, Angelina will bring in the
'breathy', 'whisper-like' responses that she learned from Billie Holiday, as well as the unique
'slurring' and mid-sentence 'key' changes that Amy Winehouse was famous for. It's as if you
are hearing the essence of four superstar singers in a song and I've never heard another artist
do something this intricately complex accomplish this. Even in the power section of the song,
Andreas Grussl shows how Angelina actually 'out belts' Adele which is mind boggling when
you realize her lungs have not even fully developed yet.

Hello, Adrianna 🙂 Cool that you chose this one, as it shows quite a bit of her range and her abilities of honoring the original song/artist while still putting her own flavor to it. I know that it is totally unfair to compare a cover to an original, but still I think that I much prefer Angelina's version of the song. I just think she's able to put that extra vocal emotion to it. I am aware that that sounds weird, as Adele was the one who wrote the song, based on her own life experiences. But that's how I feel anyway, and it is not the first time that I feel this way. And it most probably won't be the last 😅
Angelina actually dropped a cover of this song on her TikTok just a very few hours (I believe 8 hours) after Adele dropped the single, and in that short time period Angelina had already listened to the song and digested it, learnt the lyrics by heart and decided what she wanted to do with it. AND recorded it. The crazy part is that I think her TikTok version is equally good as this one, recorded on her cell phone. Totally madness tbh. It definitely speaks more into her abilities and genius than this studio recording does. Check it out on your own time and see what you think. A superb performance by AJ, arguably interpreted better than the original.
But one thing grates with me. What you hear is not the pianist you see performing in vision. It’s a common music production ‘illusion’ and I wish they would avoid it. I’m not sure why they needed to resort to it this time.
My Soul Sunday Girl...As your "Angelina Train Conductor", I want you to know your ticket has been punched, and you can travel everywhere in Angelina world. However, with that in mind, I recommend you take the train to Norway for her live version ( this past summer) of Bohemian Rhapsody good time for you to compare.
