This is one of the more factual tutorials I've seen. Creating 2 openings and making sure that the opening is large enough is pretty important if you genuinely want to attract toads instead of just having a decoration in the garden.

Lovely video ☺️…I’ve got frogs, toads in the garden they have took over a old large pot of water, they seem to love my garden, but I have cats so I will definitely make a Toad hall and little places for them to hide! ❤🐸🌿

Brilliant video. Thank you. I have a stream running through my garden and about 10 years ago, a raft of vegetation (I think where some one upstream had been clearing out their pond) came floating down and a toad was sitting in the middle. I rescued it and put it in a pile of logs that I keep for wildlife. Now, 10 years later, I put down a massive tarpaulin in my gravel drive, ready for a massive delivery of logs. When I had finished the huge task of filling up my log shed. I lifted the tarpaulin, ready for folding and putting away and about 18 or 19 small baby toads (about the size of a large postage stamp) scuttled away to a pile of boughs that I keep for sawing into logs. I have put slabs of stone, plus flat ends of logs (about the size and shape of a thick Frisbee) under various bushes and the like. My garden is about half an acre. How many 'Toad Halls' should I make ? Bearing in mind that my family and I LOVE toads ?

Wouldnt it make more sense to recycle an old broken pot rather than break a new one? This is the perfect use for my cracked flower pots I think!

THANKS, I GET FROGS HERE IN MY HOUSE. THEY ARE GREEN TREE FROGS. THEY DONT GROW VERY BIG. SO I WOULD NEED A SMALL HOLE IN SOMETHING VERY HEAVY. WHERE I LIVE THERE ARE LARGE CROWS WHICH I DONT FEED AND ALSO SOME SMALLER BIRDS LIKE MINOR BIRDS AND MAGPIE LARKS THAT I DO FEED,. THEY ARE THE SMALL BIRDS AND I MAY WORRY THEY MIGHT GET INSIDE THE FROGS HOUSE IF THE ENTRANCE WAS VERY BIG.
FROGS COME IN MY HOUSE VIA MY TOILET. I LIVE IN A VERY DRY PLACE. THERE IS NOT MUCH RAIN HERE.
I REALLY NEED TO DO SOMETHING FOR THE NICE FROGS HERE. I DONT HAVE THE FACILITIES INSIDE MY HOUSE REALLY, I DONT MIND THEM BEING IN HERE FOR 2 OR 3 NIGHTS IN MY BATH TUB BUT THEN I PUT THEM OUTSIDE SO THEY CAN CATCH INSECTS. I DOUBT THEY WOULD FIND MANY INSECTS IN MY HOUSE.

Hi. Is it beneficial to dig a hole under the upturned pot? I read somewhere that toads like to get under ground during cold winters for warmth, but I don't know how accurate that is?

What about the hole at the top, does it matter if it's left open?
