Certainly up there, pulled the trigger on the Yikong YK4083 version in January 2023 after much research and consideration across the market. All The Best 👍
@TheSweeney Agreed, been out with it again on very unforgiving rocks and it took a beating but it's still ready for more zero damage (apart from scratches) are you in the UK?
@@The_RC_Family I am yes, North Nottinghamshire. Was kind of a retaliation purchase because FTX wanted too much for the Outback Tracker, knowing the Absima Sherpa, Yucatan and its Yikong counterparts (and the RGT counterpart of the FTX Tracker) for that matter The YK4083 was the best deal for the money in terms of quality and spec.
@@The_RC_Family It was £462 all in total via the decent shipping option (Tracked). At the time there was no sign Absima would rebrand it or release their version of it other than previous probability and Absima usually changed the body colour so I didnt want to wait and I wanted the Grey specifically offered by YK but Absima have kept the YK colours in this instance.
Adam, you made me cry... in a good way tho. I am working so hard to make videos people love. It's a real treat to get a comment like this. Thanks mate, really appreciate it.
Your editing is on another level mate. That intro could literally be an advert, like seriously. 👍 If your channel doesn't blow up in 2023 then the RUclips algorithm literally isnt doing its job! 🙏😎👍
Bless you Rob, thank you so much. I have been sitting here watching the 46 views and thinking to myself "why did I spend 4 days making this?" I know RUclips is a marathon not a sprint but starting up is so hard. Thanks to comments from you and Adam from Cape Crawlers and all the others that have bothered to leave a comment I think I will stick with it. Seriously tho, if you are not too far from me and would like to use the truck for some content, you'd be more than welcome (No mud bogging though LOL) Thanks again bud, been watching and enjoying your channel a while so having you pop up here is a real treat. @The_RC_Daddy No problem at all mate. It definitely is hard work and you've got to be in it for the long haul. With skills like yours though, I'm sure you'll smash it. 👍 For me, the Community is one of the great things about RUclips and generally its really positive. 👍

I've had the Yikong version since last November. It's been my favorite trail rig of all my vehicles. Last time out I fell off a ravine and broke some rod ends and bent both rear shock shafts. I have the brass on the front and heavy wheels. That fall was quite a tumble and the body escaped with no damage! I think it needs a 3 slot motor (drag brake is bad) and I've already replaced the servo with a 60kg unit and it's great. I also tried the forward motor mount/cms servo option provided with the Yikong, and I couldn't keep it in due to not having a panhard mount on the axle...way too much side-to-side shift with CMS and no panhard. The weight dist was way better though. I also had to do some waterproofing to the receiver box and receiver as neither are waterproof and I was doing some waterfall driving...
Hi Brian, thank you for all the information that's very helpful 🙂 I am with you in that this is my favourite trail/crawler rig! I too have the brass front but no heavy wheels yet (once my budget will allow) The body is very tough isn't it! My drag brake set up (after using the program card) is optimal, it will literally flip over if I just come off the throttle but will also just creep if I need to descend slowly or roll back slightly when changing position ascending. I noticed the issue with the non panhard set up but I recently switched out the shocks for a set of 110mm Desert Lizards on which I am running an almost full droop set up - Side hill stability significantly improved! - Bump steer almost completely gone - High speed stability massively improved - Improved articulation & they look sweet! Out of curiosity, which servo did you upgrade too? I went with the DS3235 Pro which was budget friendly and seems to be plenty strong enough. Not sure what its longevity will be like but time will tell! I've still not got it wet yet (by wet I mean submerged) but winter is coming! Waterfall driving sounds very cool! Right, I think that covers everything! Thanks for stopping by, lots more coming on this. Oh and, don't tell anyone but there is a V3 gearbox coming 😉Email me if you would like to know more 😉 TTFN Dwight The RC Daddy
@@The_RC_Family I am using a Flash Hobby direct power 60kg servo. Maybe Abisma uses a different motor...mine is a 5 slot and no matter what I do to there just isn't good drag brake
Oh nice, I wonder... Do they do a 6x6 in the 1/8 scale version? Thank you for watching and commenting. I am in the Welsh Mountains filming with this BronX at the moment :)
Wow mate all the big dogs turning up to watch and comment on my video... Thank you so much man, I love your content so getting praise from you and the other guys really means a lot. You the trouble with it tho, what to do next? 🤔🙃 Thank you so much for stopping by mate. TTFN Dwight
Great review! I've got the grey one and really love it. It's my first crawler and enjoyed the times I ran it through the forest nearby. When you steer three times to the right al the signal lights will flash, nice detail.
Really nice overview of the truck mate! I loved those sexy undercarriage shots and the locking diff demonstration! Im always blown away by the quality of your videos mate, nicely done!
Brilliant video just came across your channel and subscribed . I have the Yucatan 1/8 jeep and a few 1/10 crawlers , I was looking for a UK review on this model , I was looking at the ftx tracker so you've made my mind up for me thanks.
Great video !!, but don't wait for six months do another video putting through mud, water e.t.c to show all of its potential...and after that, you can wait for six months.
i aint gonna lie at 656 bucks i can get a traxxas trx4m with more support and upgradeability id say this thing isnt worth the cost maybe in europe cause the trx4 is like almost 800 bucks over there but here its 500 somethin so that thing cost quite a bit more than a traxxas trx4
I guess if you're from the US, the TRX4 does make more sense, but this is 8th scale, so it's quite a bit more truck for the money. Regarding upgrades, this thing has it all available. Brass axels, knuckles, 12mm hex fitment for heavy beadlocks etc. Going out crawling today, if there's a TRX4 I'll do a side by side pic for comparison. Thanks for watching and commenting Pete, I appreciate you.
@@The_RC_Family oh brain fart it is 1/8 scale you are correct and i stand corrected :P in that case i can see it having a place. i was thinking if it was the same scale thats a big price jump for americans but you are corect thats not bad considering the scale increase
