They Already Told Us What The Night King Wants? - Game of Thrones Season 8 (End Game Theory)

- Опубликовано: 10 фев 2025
- Welcome back for another Game of Thrones Season 8 End Game Theory. In today's video I want to discuss some of the mysteries surrounding the Night King and the White Walkers. Who is the Night King? What is the Night King's true identity? Why did the White Walkers come back now? What does the Night King want? These are just some of the questions fans have been asking for years. Well, one of these answers may have been revealed during the Night King's introduction. One thing we do know the Night King and the White Walkers have wanted is newborn sons. This is a tradition that dates back to the Age of Heroes, shortly after the Children of the Forest created the Night King. Check out the video and let me know your thoughts on this topic. Thank you all for watching!

the night king has a serious nail fungus problem
Watching this after watching season 8's episode 3 makes it quite---
Maybe he just wants his old life back again, to be healed of this curse.
maybe yeah
With 5 episodes left how fast can Danny actually be pregnant and deliver a baby
He could kidnap her tho
Maybe the baby inside her might actually be a dragon and the night king can control it lol
Exactly. I think he's after that little baby Sam & Gilly had. He was suppose to be given to the Night King.
I mean time jumping???
My thought as well. Cool theory, but it’s would involve huge time jumps within 5 episodes and I just don’t see that happening. Unless the night king can magically extract the baby early.
NK is a warg/seer like Bran. He knew Dany being born would bring on the dragons and he knew he needed a dragon to get past the wall. They started building their army when Dany was born during the storm.
I think he's more than a warg. I think he possesses essentially all the "magic" abilities in westeros via the history of winter itself. I think hes also manipulating the flames interfering with the red priests and others who can see flames similar to how he can tap into the weir net. He can skinchange, revive, control dragons, break spells etc.
Mein Fuhrer he doesn’t have ALL the magic shown, he has the power to raise the dead (not revive), and he has the power to convert children into walkers. We know that he has control over the dead he raises, but that doesn’t mean he can skin change.
if the NK has magical abilities and a ice dragon then maybe jon finds something in the crypts under winterfell and the ice dragon kills jons dragon and danys dragon, then jon resurrects both of the dragons as one big fire dragon, since fire beats ice, and thats how they defeat the NK?

This whole "Prince who was Promised" line of thinking as it relates to the Night's King is brilliant....the layers upon layers upon layers of this story as a whole is on a scale that I don't think has ever been seen before, or will be seen again.
I can picture Danny saying "Where is my baby!" just like she said "Where are my dragons!"
One thing that stands out to me is that the 3eyed raven told bran that the knight king was after him, not snow.
Because he can see near future so NK wants to kill him cuz he was a threat
Is it me or does this make PERFECT SENSE
Why isn’t anyone asking if the night king is this powerful greasier why didn’t he just come for John when he was born he could obviously see it happening
leroy Wilson Because he was unable to destroy the wall when Jon was born. Remember when Bran got his mark? That was like a ticket to Westeros so he can destroy everything that was worked with magic and he can go anywhere where Bran is.

@@sudiptoghosh5694 LoL, that was Lord Of Light who brought him back. Are you expecting a Lord of Night (who's probably already dead now) to bring the Night King back?
There is one of Craster's sons that the WW don't have, its little Sam.
True but it seems like it would be anticlimactic, anyway little Sam isn’t a new born anymore so..
........bruh.
You keep your mouth shut. Don’t take little Sam away from us. George might hear you.
They were ramping up for war and doing small attacks way before that ever happens.
Mance was gathering the wildling army for 20 years in anticipation for the night kings return. I do think little Sam will have some impact on the interactions with the night King but I don't think it is the reason he marches soutb
Maybe “the song of ice and fire” is all about “the SON of ice and fire”? So that prince also claims the white throne as part of “game of thrones” for the white walkers?
Daenerys: I will never have children.
John Snow: Hold my Longclaw..
With your (Daenerys') weapon
@Dex4Sure Jon is a Targaryen....
He wants the kid that Sam took across the wall.
Little Sam :)
Why?
Bruce or whatever your name is, because the father of Gilly is also the father of her baby, and he made a deal with the Night King saying if he ever had a boy, he’d give it to the Night King, whereas if he had a girl, he’d keep her so he can continue to ... yknow.. it’s gross but unfortunately that’s the truth behind it. I don’t think the Night King is just after the baby though, I genuinely think he’s got a bigger hidden motive.
Excuse my English: I’m quite sure that “little Sam” and son of Mance are switched when Sam and Gilly are leaving for Oldtown. Only Jon and Gilly knows about it. So Gilly’s son is dead and the little kid is actually prince. I mean books of course. Can anyone confirm/deny?

@@Fluffybullets2 but like the video says, if the night king was created by the children of the forrest, he may be able to foresee the future. So the night king would know the baby between jon and daenerys is imminent long before we knew.
When did Daenerys die?
@@dant828 she should have died in the fire she birthed the dragons in. She was reborn from those flames with a new purpose. Targaryen blood can control living dragons
@@JesRocWitMe I thought that was just part of her Targaryen blood, she cannot be burnt/killed by fire, I wouldn't say she was resurrected, hers was more of a metaphorical 'rebirth'

Even though the tv show is over, it’s an interesting theory as yours so often are. You make the best GoT videos, and especially for those (myself included) that have not yet read the books!
What do you think the Night King wants most?
1- An Heir (he grew bored of being NK)
2- A Night Queen. (it's been a long time)
3- Just fuc*ing around. (doing what he loves).

Lyana was ice and rhaegar was fire
Jon is song of ice and fire
Dany is fire, jon is ice(and fire)
Night king is ice, jon and dany is fire
Theres a few different theories of what it could be, but jon is still deffo involved.
Rhaegar liked to *sing*
Hartmut Brork and reportedly wrote Jenny’s Song (the one that Pod sang).
Night King is Ice "Lord of Light" is fire.
Isaac Hempstead wright said that the night king and the 3 eyed Ravens were "ancient enemies". He said this in his videos on the history of Bran Stark. Since the 3 eyed raven needs a replacement I think it only makes sense that the Night King needs one too. His replacement will be Jon Snow. The prince that was promised (Promise me Ned. Promise me.).
Yes, but I believe what this theory suggests is that "The Prince that was Promised" isn't actually Jon at all--it's his and Dany's baby that was promised to him thousands of years ago by the First Hero. This promise was made in order to stop the Night King's army from erasing the first humans.
@@emilykirk2316 I agree with this. If you don't take the prophecy literally then I have seen more convincing theories claiming that Jon is actually light bringer, Dany is Nissa Nissa, and their child will be Azor Ahai. Jon Snow being Azor Ahai is what you get if you read the prophecy literally. GRRM has stated that prophecies in his books should not be taken literally because "it will bite your prick off every time". A character who tried to follow prophecy literally is Melisandre, which caused her to question everything and fall into despair at the beginning of season 6.
@@emilykirk2316 sounds like a good theory, just how do they make Dany deliver in 6 episodes 😂
Best theory I've heard.
Jon and daenarys have a little girl....daenarys names her lyanne before she dies in childbirth.....euron greyjoy comes to take danys body back to cersei....drogon beats the night king and Jon goes to kings landing to get danys body back....everyone dies from an explosion in the dragonpit....the end.....
Legend has it tormund is still looking for Stannis's demons
Maybe the Night King wants help from Bran. Maybe he wants Bran to change the past and stop the Children of the Forest from turning him in the first place.
So sad, but yes. Wouldn't that be so philosophical in a way?
And trying to stop them from creating the night king he becomes the night king. Because bran is the night king.
Bruh if that was true they would need a season 9,10,11,12,13 all the way to 25 to explain everything that will happen if he gets the time changed back.
when Sam found the dragonglass page in the book, the page next to it said " the dragonglass less saw " has the ability to cure. just saying.
Maybe he came just to know what podrick did to the girls
You've forgotten the part where a white walker tried to kill Jon at Hardhome and the part where he throws a spear at Drogon. He does not value either Jon or Dany's lives, and as such, does not require their baby.
Or perhaps he knew that Jon would survived, and he did that precisely to make Jon and Daeny to have sex....
Just wached this episode and the fight between Jon and the Walker is kinda long. The Walker could have killed him several times during the fight and it didn't. So here's the question - was the Walker careful or it was just ment for this scene to be more longer and epic?
Or maybe he was testing Jon to see if he was truly worthy of creating the offspring the Night King desired...
Andrew Yehson yes, that’s right - he did throw a spear at Drogon too but luckily Drogon was a bit better at zigzagging than Rickon, but yeah that’s why they had to leave right then - cos otherwise NK would have killed Drogon too.
deliberate miss.
They used a Horn of Winter when the last version of The Night King attacked. It was used by Joramun (who aligned forces with Bran The Breaker) who is akin to Mance at present age. This was seen, at the The Fist Of The First Men when Sam found the dragonglass. It was said to awaken "The Giants Of The Earth" and allow them to rise. It was eluded to be in a "Night's Watch Cloak."
I doubt this was shown for nothing. DO we think they will use it? What will it bring?
Your Intro is so epic😱😱😱

@@michaelmanhard4457 It's Light of the Seven, from when the Sept Of Baelor is blown up by Cersei... Probably S6E9
Everyone take a drink when they say night king.. and then die of alcohol poisoning.
I'd like to see a blovar/lich king style ending. Where it turns out there needs to be a night king and someone has to make the noble sacrifice to become it and live eternally alone up there.
I could see Jon Snow taking the responsibility and saying "and now my watch begins"
Martin did say he had a bitter sweet ending planned
Since the children of the forest made the white walkers to protect them from the first men, do you think the white walkers would only kill the people with first men blood? and those who held a weapon because they’re a threat? I was still wondering why the others didn’t kill Samuel Tarly the first time he saw the army of the dead during the nights watch expedition north. Is it because he has the blood of the Andals? Just asking
That's a good question. The just passed by him.
That wouldnt explain why they attacked the children of the forest. But that can explan why they left him alone.
Or maybe because as you said, he was't helding any weapon... Maybe. Or maybe to be a messenger, like the guy from the first episode.
Sam was attacked when he was trying to protect crasters baby. He was a threat to something that the night king wanted at that point. Maybe the night king only wants to kill people that are a threat to him and his objective. The white walkers did try to kill John but he escaped every time. John is a threat to him.
@@marlydermady5152 Good point.
You all seem to forget about the Azor Ahai prophecy, which is NOT the same as the prince who was promised. We know Azor Ahai would be reborn amidst smoke and salt under a bleeding star, waking dragons from stone after a Long Summer. This is about Daenerys. Daenerys also repeated the Nissa-Nissa sacrifice, when she killed her beloved Drogo, and without knowing it, exchanging his life for Drogon's (GRRM said she used bloodmagic without knowing it). Now, both Daenerys' bloodline and her fullfilling the prophecy of Azor Ahai are associated with R'hllor in some way, and I believe that Valyrians have silver hair because of breeding with "Black/Fire Walkers", just as the Starks might have bred with the Others. If you read one of Septon Barth's writings, he says that according to legend, Valyrians learned to tame dragons by a mysterious race that originated from Asshai-by-the- SHADOW. R'hllor is called the "God of Flame and Shadow", so the chances of that race being fire walkers are very high. Moreover, there is a dark city above Asshai, Stygai, where even shadow binders dare not to tread. Back to our topic: Daenerys is the perfect vessel/avatar to be possesed by R'hllor or one of his minions, just like the Night King is a Stark possesed by the Great Other or one of his servants. So mabye Daenerys will have dragonglass plunged in her breast at the Isle of Faces by the last Children or Melisandre and her Faith. And no, dragonglass won't turn her into a White Walker, because it is also called Frozen Fire, and is literally frozen fire. The ritual is what matters, which entity of the two will be called upon. Now, what happens after this transformation? There is another prophecy, about the prince who was promised, who has the song of Ice and Fire and will end the eternal conflict of the Lord of Light and his enemy. All clues point out to Jon being him, because: His parents are descendants of both White Walkers and Black Walkers (Fire equivalent), and the Ghost of High Hearth had told King Jacaerys that the prince would descend from the line of his son and daughter, Aerys and Rhaella. This is why the Night King doesn't kill Jon. Because Jon will be the one to choose which side will win, Ice or Fire, either by killing the Night King or Azor Ahai, Dany, or by merging with one of them into a single entity. Jon might also kill both, or bring them together, just like he has been doing with people (he brought together Wildlings with Northmen, he was the one to unite the Stark children with their wolves, he attempted to make peace with the Lannisters, and he is about to unite Dany with the North). So the highest possibility is for Jon to unite the two entities, which may have not fought forever, as the legend of Yi-Ti says that the Maiden-made-of-Light and the Lion of Night gave birth to a son, the "God-on-Earth", and that when the Bloodstone Emperor killed his sister, the Maiden turned her back on the world and the Lion attacked the world of men with his minions. Therefore, we could say that the two entities were together or had a truce and were divorced at the Long Night, or perhaps it was their clash of Ice and Fire that gave birth to organic matter. What matters is that they are apart, and Jon will unite them.
👍👍👍
I thought the whole point of Azor Ahai and the prince that was promised is that it was different versions of the same myth. Think religions in the real world and how they have lots of similar stories and character equivalents between them.
+Neoshenlong Archivo 2008 - 2011 The thing is, both the prince and Azor Ahai are mentioned by Melisandre, which means they are from the same religion. And no, they are not the same, as Azor is said to be reborn after a long summer under a bleeding star, waking dragons from stone, while the promised prince is only said to be destined to end the conflict of R'hllor and the Other, and that his ia the song of Ice and Fire. Although many people, like Maester Aemon in the books, think of these persons to be the same, they obviously are not. They have different prophecies, and particularly Azor Ahai, the champion of R'hllor, cannot have at the same time the song of Fire AND ICE. Based on our information of the old Azor Ahai, he has a strong bond with the Lord of Light, so the new one should have as well, making way for Dany to fullfill the prophecy. Therefore, Azor would be or will become something like the Fire Night King, and thus will not end the conflict, as there will be an unchangeable balance between them, like it has always been. This is where the prince plays his role. He will end the war of these two gods (whom I believe are the old gods), and he is made of Ice AND Fire. He has the ability to bring an end to this eternal struggle, because he can unite or destroy both sides (choosing one may be deadly for life), having the two primordial forces within his veins (just like the Taoist Ying/Yang myth). This is why Jon Snow is the one who was promised. You may ask: How did R'hllor raise him if he has both Ice and Fire within him? Well, the Night King could raise him in the name of the Great Other, but Jon was south of the Wall, the foundations of which have been engraved with Fire spells, marking the territory of R'hllor.
Everything you said is just about objectively wrong. You have fundamental principles of the series completely wrong.
Read the books
+Dictismit The series doesn't clarify the religious parts, especially the prophecies, nor do the books, although they give lots of clues. I haven't read the novels, but I have been studying the Wiki of Ice and Fire, which is full of book-only content, and I can assure you that Azor Ahai and the promised prince are not clarified wether they are the same, like many other philosophies in Asoiaf, probably on purpose. The part about Black Walkers is just my theory, I know it is not in the show or the books. Know what a theory is? It's a speculation about something we partially know or don't know. My theory of the Black Walkers, the Fire Others, tries to explain where they were and what purpose they had. They surely existed, as the White Walkers and the Night King aren't creations like robots, they were spirits serving the Great Other, his minions, called upon by the Children to possess some captive First men in order to "defend" them. Martin has even named the series "A song of Ice and Fire", and from what we have been shown, R'hllor, the Lord of Light, exists. If he and the Great Other exist, and the Other has minions in the mortal world, then R'hllor should have minions there as well, or perhaps WILL have in the next season. I don't see what you found so strange in this theory. Mabye because I'm not talking about mortal schemes and the Iron Throne? I am just speculating the spiritual ending of the story. Tell me exactly what's the problem now.
I honestly can’t imagine any other situation playing out. This was perfectly laid out, very simply stated and the type of theory that was there for us to pick up on the entire time. Excellent video!
if the night king has lived for 1000 or more years why would he need a replacement because he cannot die
Because he is too tired of shagging to the same scene again and again and he has just one last shag left :D :D
Maybe it's not that he can't be killed, just that no one has ever come close to actually killing him so he's survived that long. Jellyfish keep living forever unless something straight up kills them. So they don't die naturally, but by other external means maybe?
punxie89 Lol jellyfish don’t live forever, wtf...
@@rcSnooks There actually is a type of jellyfish that is believed to be able to live forever as long as something doesn't essentially actively murder it, meaning it doesn't age and then die naturslly of old age like other species do. It keeps regenerating. Look it up.

I don’t usually get most theories but this one was GOOD! Appreciate the work man!
Fairly sure the night king just wanted some elephants
i definetly missed that stuff with Craster being a Targaryeon in the book.
It's just a theory though. But there were quite some Targaeryens up north, e.g. Aemon the Master, Bloodraven. But I agree, a Craster origin story might be interesting...since when was he up there and why? And why on earth were there women willing to live with him

Honestly that what I think it is too!
He seemed to afraid, and unwilling, for that to make sense. The guy was a dedicated war hero, and they had to tie him and gag him to get it done? That’s the part that makes no sense for this theory.
@@GoatPopsicle Good point, but even if you or I were willing. Natural self preservation would make them have to tie you or me down to shove a blade of Dragonglass in our chest. Also watch the scene again. The man doesn't struggle that much or protest verbally, at all.
Dennis Coy Self preservation is easily overruled for the survival of your entire family & loved ones, and the human race as a whole, especially at the near end of a long and bloody war, where he would have seen thousands die from the Wights and the cold.
The guy can’t really struggle, because he was tied tightly and had a gag, But his eyes told me he was an unwilling victim, not a willing participant. Maybe he was offered up by his men/advisors/family when they found out the price of winnings
The other major problem I have, is the scene shows us a Summertime looking forest, not the deep winter it should have been, if it truly was near the end of the long night, and not just before it.
nah he was made to be a weapon against the humans but ended up to be a weapon against humans and the children of the forest
A man needs to see season 8 already
Watching this video gave me an interesting idea and maybe someone has already commented about this (I havent read through too many comments). But since you said that the introduction of the night king could be foreshadowing the end of the series, then it could be possible that the "bittersweet" ending GRRM promised is that baby that we see 2:35 is Jon and Danys baby, maybe that is how the show ends -- They did knock boots on the ship and if the bed be rocking, Tyrion dont come knocking lol -- In conclusion, to ensure another peace/truce after getting hammered by the dead and also knowing that the dead take baby boys as sacrifice, Jon takes the baby to the night king ending the war, for now... Maybe, the prince that was promised is the baby Jon and Dany have AKA the product of ICE and FIRE ("Since Melisandre did bring Ice and Fire together"), and that is what the night king wants. Maybe all they had to do was keep Crasters Keep producing babys to keep the White Walkers away. And as I wrote that even crazier theory.. Maybe the Night King just wants what he is owed by Craster, AKA "little Sam" lol... End of crazy theory.
i readed coments and found intresting one maybe he wants to be buman again? to live in another body and mayby that is why craster gave him babies but that baby NK touched whas crasters baby and mayby it has to be a special child so he wants jons and dannys son to live in that baby because he knows that that baby is somewhat special? (just to know my english gramar isnt the best but by reading this i hope you understand what i have written).
Making any sort of connection between While Walkers and the Targaryens doesn't make sense because the Targaryens first appeared thousands of years later.
While the conclusion might very well come to be true, it's still unreasonable.
If we accept that the Night King can see far into the future, then it would be far more reasonable to emerge near or during Robert's Rebellion--when Jon was born. No Dragons to fight. No readied armies to struggle against. A newborn Starkgaryen infant ready to be taken, with less diluted Stark and Targaryen blood than anything Jon and Daenerys could conceive.
The weather channel said otherwise lol
He needed dragon to take down the wall
Poignant considering Dany saying in season one "show me what I bought with my son's life". Maybe with this son, it'll be peace.
after the previous season, hbo released a snippet of the scene where daenerys eats the horse heart. her son would be stallion who mounts the world. I think hbo was also hinting at this and reminding us of this prophecy
All you guys with these theories are undercover agents of Mister Martin and this is a part of his game.
well, he did say, that some fans have pieced together the right answer, what will happen finally :) only thing to do is confuse everybody as to which one exactly is this.
So does this mean the NK is the Lord of Light? This would makes sense since then the NK would have brought Jon back to life to ensure the "prince who was promised" would be born.
but why bring back Beric 6 times?
Maybe the prince who was promised is from Jon
Butttt why beric tho
But why priests like melisandre and beric can't feel his presence as presence of their lord? Infact they are totally against this nk
Maybe she brought Beric back to ensure he would kill all of Johns enemies. Or that could’ve been the mistake she made the red head
I think of all predictions this has most sense. Especially "the prince that was promised" part. Why would all those things be included (like Craster's sons) if it didn't have some meaning for the final game.
But Jon is both stark and Tarrgeryn(sp?) So why didn't the night king just take Jon as a baby?
It sounds really possible. Bittersweet being the baby lives, but is the new NK.
how is it sweet...
@@zhark6983 "Bitter"sweet
@@zhark6983 I guess its because both Jon and Dany live but there child becomes the new night king 😥😥😥😥😥
I'm pretty convinced that the walkers are going extinct before its all over then the bitterness will be the printing press and gunpowder is developed to hint that revolution time is coming
I think one of Jon or Dany needs to die to demonstrate the night king will do anything to have that child. Probably Dany. Jon then makes the decision to give up the child in order to save westeros. Bittersweet.
What if Bran was the one who was promised. He is a prince. Jon is a king, either King in the North or the King(rightful heir) of the Seven Kingdom.
kings are born princes. bran is a high lord, and as he was jon's cousin by blood was never a prince of the north technically.
regardless, there is a whole prophecy around the figure. its either jon, or dany (both imo)
Maybe the night king is coming for the full un-redacted version of the Mueller report.
xD
Not going to lie, I get sad every time I see that baby being turned by the Night King
Not going to lie I watched 7 episodes and I don't want to see anyone win this game of thrones but the Night King.
I hope he kills all opponents and gets the throne.
Maybe life is really good for White Walkers. We never see them do anything outside of walking and fighting but maybe they have a thriving culture. Perhaps that baby White Walker is having fun with all his white walker friends at White Walker daycare.
Yeah but I was absolutly pissed when he turned daenery's dragon into one of them.
I had to keep pausing and preparing myself for the baby to be slaughtered. I finally watched it and was sad, but also relieved that all he was doing was touch him.
@@nivrh8155 All is fair in love and war
Hi, I have a theory about the White walkers, i am only show watcher and recently start reading the books (i don't know how that theory will look from book perspective).
So....... i think that the WHITE walker = Weirwood tree or WHITE tree, we saw in the show how the children of the forest ''creates'' the first white walker, but i don't think that this was ''creation'' that was some kind of a ritual, with magic spells and dragon glass in the heart somehow they transfer the Weirwood tree ''soul'' to the human and now ''the tree can walk'' that's how the White ''tree'' becomes White ''walker''.That explains how the white walker can interact with Bran when he is into the weirwood ''net'' ! In S6 E5 when Bran enter the Weirwood net alone, when he was touched by the night king, moments before that scene ,we saw the same tree where they make the ritual, and if u look closely not only the tree is dead but it is split in half that must be from the ritual! I think every weirwood tree have different ''soul''(every tree have different face right?) but they are all connected somehow. When the children decides that it's time to act to stop the humans from cutting the trees, they make that ''ritual''and stops the war, after the pact with the help of the white walker they make the ice wall, and he goes north to "rest", ''sleep'' or something like that, but after time, a long time he starts to do stuff that he wasn't suppose to do, and one of them is to take human babies and creates, or actually transfers other white tree ''souls'' into them and makes more white walkers. And now we see how rest of the White trees try to help Bran to stop the White walkers!
'Game of Thrones' prequel!
- "And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros' history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend ... it's not the story we think we know."
Could that be the true origin of the white walkers? :)Basically that's my theory, it can be total nonsense but it will be nice to see what other thinks .
Thanks @milasf18
Thats very nice theory, i have not hear that anywhere else, which is very rare!
Oy , that’s a ripper of a theory mate, ain’t heard a bloke spouting a theory like that in yonks and that’s fair dinkum.. lord knows YT is chockers with bullocks theories anyway..
Not nonsense. Basically that's what's going on. It's more like you're using a metaphor to describe a metaphor, and then you get to the underlying reality. Magic, and warging, and tapping into the wierwood net IS the underlying reality. No need to abstract out any more.
One hell of a theory mate! Dig deeper and let us know!!
Why would the Night King need a replacement if he is immortal doesn‘t really make sense. And if he needs a bigger Army for what does he need the army…
And also why would he come forward if Jon and Danearys child is not born yet
And why hadn’t he come earlier when John was born?
@@camilafernandes9012 At that point he didn't have a dragon. Night king must have known Dany would come to save the people that went beyond the wall, hence keeping them alive until Dany arrives with his weapon, a dragon. Makes sense to me
Zilleyon Well, after last episode I see no sense in this theory whatsoever xD
@@camilafernandes9012 how come?
Zilleyon If his goal was for Jon and Dany to have a baby, why risk both of their lives in that battle?
Also, if the Night King could see the future so well, how didn’t he see his death coming?
Fair points but I highly doubt this is all going to end with the NK taking a baby.
I'm pretty sure the Night King will speak next season
This is the last season dude. What are you on ?
@@ry7290 He said that before season 8 even started.
@@covmcnugget let him have this
I think no because he is on a high magician level
, so he speak trough dreams, visions und symbols truth the mindcontroll of his army. After whitewalkers kill peoples they make symbols with the body parts
It’s been stated by show runners we will not hear them speak for two reasons. 1. It sounded weird when they tried 2. No one would know what they’re saying because they’re the only ones who speak it.
Now we’ll never know. Because he’s gone, they’re all gone. We’ll never know what he wanted.
Even jon snow was killed once..remember?
An interesting theory. I think it is also possible that the Night King (like many others in the series) is relying on some prophecy or vision but has the facts a bit off; or is aiming to get one of several possible babies; or is looking for a queen at this point.
The "prince that was promised" theory you said, sounds really nice
S8 e2, was so nice with seing all the characters together. I wonder how was the discussions with the nightwalkers and all the dead. They seem so smart and intelligent.
But why does he want babies though? Why can't he just use a grown person he just killed?
nevermind..... I should learn to finish the video before commenting.
Congratulations, you played yourself.
who came here after ep 3 season 8
The NK is coming for Bran! His birth reawakened the night king - he’s about 8 or so when the show begins which kind of makes sense as there’s been murmurings that the walkers were back, building year on year. The NK foresaw Brans power awakening - bran is the most powerful 3 eyed raven even with the possibility of changing the past and controlling the future. This represents a real threat to the NK and perhaps he foresaw Bran defeating him. Since Bran awoke from his coma and gained his third eye, things have accelerated. I hope bran gets a power boost when the dragons arrive in winterfell. Much like the warlocks did. I also hope he rides a dragon in a specially designed saddle by Tyrion. I think the only way he can warg into Rhaegal is to be close to him and therefore be riding on his back. I hope we get to see him be much more powerful and important in S8 as has been foretold in previous seasons cos he was very weak in S7. I predict his fate is to stay too long in the past or inside a host (Rhaegal, even the NK? ) and be lost forever as Bloodraven often warned. Ps - didn’t the children help the first men defeat the NK first time round after realising and repenting for the evil they had created. I thought that’s what was drawn in the dragonstone caves. Plus it’s stated that their magic that was put into the wall to stop them from getting south again.
Bran will definitely be one of the most important characters next season. In the books the "others" are portrayed as being more civilized (human-like) than in the show and its even mentioned that they speak. On the show they are portrayed more as monsters that do not communicate. So I was wondering how any of this would be possible if they can't even communicate with the living. The only way I can think of for the show to communicate the White Walkers motives and demands is through Bran.
why did Robert leave the feather (broken quill I think) at Leana's tomb in season 1, and they show it again in season 5 with Sansa at the tomb and again in the season 8 trailer, whats the story with that?
The Last Harpy does a season 8 trailer breakdown and they talk about this. It's a cool theory you should watch it :)
@@amandalorian5665 The Last Harpy theory on the feather is that Bran is controlling the feather. While I agree Bran will try to change the past, I dont see that making since with the Feather since King Robert put it there for Leana in Episode 1. I think there is something else to it.
ReRe Robert put it there because Leana liked exotic birds or something. He always gifted her birds in the books because they were her favorites. I can’t remember which bird specifically... but that’s the story behind the feather.
@@ReRe-yl6dq Only time makes since. Everything else makes sense.
I dont know why he placed it there but its still there because no one goes down there.

Jon Snow was literally the prince that was promised
Nice!!!
This is still better than what we got lmao
There definitely seems something important in sacrificing to the Others. We have the books' Night's King doing such , Craster as well and the terminating of the practice are pivotal moments in the universe's history. Its unclear if this practice was continued and who was doing it for the numerous millennia in between , so if this practice wasn't being continued for thousands of years it could hurt the viability of the theory. But in terms of special bloodlines, Craster may in fact be Bloodraven's son , Brynden Rivers who has/had the blood of Ice & Fire (Targ and Blackwood) so it may be that the NK indeed covets special bloodlines and those are what he needs to make new WW's, Craster's children if he is Bloodraven's son have special blood. And the books' Night's King was a Stark so there is precedence for special blood lines given to the Others via the books' Night's King's babies. Dany is also a mix of Ice and Fire being a Targ with Blackwood ancestry (Blackwood being First Men blood originally from the North) , she even has Dayne blood one of the most ancient houses in Westeros which is special as well. Jon is clearly the embodiment of Ice & Fire , GRRM literally named the series after this mix (of Ice & Fire) and perhaps this is an instance where it factors heavily in the narrative , with the NK requiring it. So it is possible the NK wants Jon & Dany's future baby for an important purpose, both Dany & Jon already have special bloodlines so their child / children may be even more so. It might even be that the NK wants Jon & Dany to become the new Night King and Night Queen so the Others' numbers can flourish , doing so without the need to take human babies and turn them.
And with the NK, the more i contemplate it , I just don't think the NK can actually be killed. So with this theory the NK is not only securing the growth of the Other's in terms of numbers but perhaps is looking for a successor to take over the role and bring the Others back to the Lands of Always Winter. Jon who is Ice & Fire or Bran (Ice) & with his confluence of special abilities are both candidates to take over as the new NK. I am not sure if the NK needs a baby for his successor , we don't even know 100% what he is doing with those babies for one , are they becoming new WW's or are they sustaining the Other's by them siphoning the babies' life force; that isn't totally clear yet. Plus the NK was created as an adult so perhaps Jon or Bran (more likely Jon) can be turned into the new NK as adults with dragon-glass into the chest. Even the cave paintings depiction of the NK / WW's with the bearded Night King , maybe that isn't the first NK at all but the CotF showing what must be done in the future with a new Night King , perhaps the beard being used to indicate a Stark which is the bloodline needed to replace him. Many think the cave paintings are a depiction of the past showing a prior NK but what if it is alluding to the distant future from the time they were painted of what needs to eventually be done. And whether its simply a necessity that the NK needs to be replaced or that the NK is trying to end his many millennia of torment by finding his replacement , either way he certainly could be searching for his successor.
I think we can only consider Stark blood as "Ice", not all First Men.
Eli , thats true to an extent but the Blackwoods that i referenced in particular are not only First Men blood but were originally a Northern House so they can be considered both. But if we are talking degrees and the epitome of "Ice" blood it would be the Starks.
i like your theory but i do have a question about turning other people (jon or bran) into others. the books aren't exactly clear on the "others" origin, in the tv series we see the cotf place a dragon glass dagger into the first ww. turning him into a ww. however the series also show us that only valerian steel and dragon glass can kill a ww....so how does one get turned into a ww by the very same thing that kills them?
Is there a difference between the nights king and the night king?
@@Tsol345 , absolutely yes there is a difference. The Night's King , with an "s" is from the books and was a human, most likely a Stark who became the 13th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch at The Wall and got together with a female White Walker / Other , sometimes referred to as the Night's Queen and started having children and they seem to have been sacrificing / giving their children together to the Others / White Walkers and basically forced the Night's Watchmen to do their bidding. Eventually who is believed to be the Night's King's half brother , Brandon Stark a.k.a. Brandon the Breaker who was Lord of Winterfell and a King of Winter got wind of what was going on and allied with a King-Beyond-the-Wall at the time , named Joramun (basically the Mance Rayder of that time) and they laid siege to the Wall , killed the Night's King & Night's Queen and freed the Night's Watch from their control. And afterwards it seems likely that the Starks erased/wiped this whole incident and person (the Night's King) from the histories including the Night's King's actual name.
It has to be kept in mind its not 100% certain that this happened or did so the exact way as described and it can be an example of a myth within the narrative that either did or didn't happen or the story could have been altered in the many years since that happened , so we don't know which and/or how many of the specifics of went on were/are true or not. But GRRM has said himself the Night's King was a legendary figure of the distant past in the story that is long dead. And the timing of it seems that the book's Night's King came after The Wall was constructed as the 13th Lord Commander , well after the first White Walkers lost the Battle for the Dawn which drove the Others back up North and The Wall was constructed to keep them out. Some theorize there is a connection between the two , the Night's King & Night King but i just see them as totally different characters who came about at somewhat different time periods in the narrative based on what we know as of now.
The Night King (no "s") is the leader of the White Walkers / Others that we see in the TV series and is a show only concept at this point. In the books there is no mention of the Night King or a definitive leader of the Others. So as of now its a show only thing ; although that may or may not change in the next book(s). Imo the TV show-runners seemed to combined elements of the book's Night's King and some concept of the leader / king of the White Walkers to give us that Night King character in the show and probably made a mistake in naming him so similarly to the book's Night's King. GRRM has publicly said he prefers his version of the Others / White Walkers and the Night's King / Night King (some of which is still yet to come in the books), so like many other book and show concept differences , I expect major differences with the show's Night King and if we get a book equivalent leader of The Others in the books.
Not too far fetched, I wouldn't mind it ending with this theory.
The question is, who survives when its all done?
I kept on nodding because this makes so much sense!😹
Your theory is far the best I‘ve heard yet.
Mostly the point that the headline „a song of ice and fire“ would make much more sense if it ends like you‘ve said. Proven with the fact that the Night King could have killed Jon or Drogon or maybe Danaeris easily. Maybe the fact that he has killed a „random“ dragon and not the biggest with Drogon, it could also be a prospect to your theorie. So the Night King just needs a „way“ to get trough the wall and on the other hand his enemies will survive at least to produce the baby. Everything makes sense.
GOT better make each episode an hour long in season 8
They leaked the duration of each episode
What's the duration?
I think it's Bran, he was waiting for Bran. Maybe the deal was that they switch places? Like ok bro, my watch is done your turn
No backsies!
I think this is 100% spot on. I also think when that special baby (the prince or princess that was promised) is brought to the Lands of Always Winter to be changed (like the baby in season 4) something different will happen when NK touches his or her cheek. And just like the 3-eyed raven has been watching Bran (& Myra, Jojen etc) all of their lives, the Night’s King has been watching Jon & Dany for all of theirs. It also explains why NK takes such special interest in Jon at Hardhome & doesn’t kill them in beyond the wall episode.
Don't forget that benioff and weiss were responsible for the non ending of Angel..I think I'm gonna be pissed for another decade..
My theory: The children created these cold others throwing off the seasons, making periods long gloomy cold. The NK, onlike the other others, retained his human heart, and wants needs a child of first man and Valyrian decent to transfer his powers too so that the seasons are regulated once more and he can be free of the thing that he is. Boom, all theories rolled into one making the NK the good guy.
Hey, a little premature to drop the microphone . . . If any theme rings out over any other theme in this story, it is that there is no purely good and evil. Begin there, and start over.
The prince who was promised... to the Night King (full title)
Hear me out, this is how I picture this thing ending: Jon and Dany have a kid together (duh!), Jon defeats the Night King but to take the army of the dead away he has to lead them so they stick a piece of dragon glass in his chest (one Jon Snow for another, also I think Dany should either go with Jon here or will die giving birth), Tyrion holds the throne till their child comes of age (hopefully they leave him a dragon or two). Sansa sacrifices herself to save her house leaving Arya to become Lady of Winterfell, and the way this story was supposed to start (Barotheon betrothed to a Stark) will finally happen with Arya and Gendry getting together. Samwell will be telling and writing this story to little Sam and will finally be writing his own achievements and will make sure that everyone knows how to prepare for the next winter. Let me know don’t be too harsh
Christopher Melendez Fwiw, I like it.
Nice 👍🏻
Nice theroy, only problem is if Jon killed the Nk (along with his magic) all of the wights and white walkers would die with him. So Jon wouldn't have to lead the rest of them away. I believe it was season 7 episode 6 when Jon and his group caught a wight, there was a white walker with them and when they killed him (along with his magic) all of the wights that were there just dropped like flies. Except one, which that one was probably made by another white walker. Again nice ending theroy tho!!
Mary Arm That something I thought about, but we have never seen the NK killed before so we don’t know if this will work the same with them. I think that instead of the army dying with the NK a new NK must be created but you could be right 🤷♂️
@@christophermelendez838 The NK was made by the children with dragonglass and since they're all dead... Idk if Jon can be made a NK from just regular people jamming dragonglass in his chest.
