The quilt turned out great…. Thank you for sharing what happened with the shirts… it helps to share so that we can help each other with good information… we now know that the older the shirt these things may happen in the wash.. we can now share that info with future clients so they can decide before we start the the quilt project what may happen… thank you again for sharing that it it did turn out great even with the damage done by the washing …..😊😊😊😊

Thank you so much for watching! This is definitely something I can share with future clients. I was happy with it after I saw it in pictures; it was a shock to see the quilt damaged in the washer. My client was great, and I am so grateful for that.

The community quilt could have different sized blocks. Maybe just add larger sashing to the smaller blocks

Great projects. I enjoy community projects. Are you going to put that cocktail fabric on the baby quilt backing??? I'm going to start making Christmas gifts for my friends and family.

Yes, that fabric is going on the baby quilt. I am looking forward to finishing it soon. Thanks for watching!

Erika, can you still long arm a baby quilt by December 15?

Yes, I think I can do that. Please email me purplequiltco at gmail.com

Did you not prewash the shirts prior to cutting & sewing or was the deterioration due to the quilting stitches?

Thanks for your question. I did not wash the shirts before I cut them. I am not sure exactly what caused the deterioration in the wash. Hopefully this will not happen again. Thank you for watching!

I get clients to wash the shirts before they give them to me.

Someone who does vinyl and has a hot press could fix her quilt probably.

Thanks for watching! I am sure that it could be fixed with vinyl. The quilting stitches would not show, but that would be okay if they wanted to put the letters back on.
