It’s understandable to get things wrong on a show from 40 years ago when most of the people making these videos aren’t even 40 themselves but they’re all saying this wrong stuff so confidently.

@zdine2155 Definitely, reflective surfaces are a pain for CGI, and I think that is the only way you could effectively do Silverhawks suits. Snarf's issue is his face and to a lesser extent his voice but if you change either too much, is it really Snarf? (I'm a little conflicted).
On a completely different note, I always thought that Copperkid looked like a rejected Thundercat character wrapped in copper foil (his face is so Thundercats coded). I guess that might make sense as Silverhawks is a show from the same company, with an aim to capitalize on the Thundercats success; Silverhawks has the same voice cast, same composer, same animation team etc, hell the Mirage is basically the Thundertank but it flies.

@aki636I don’t think so…? Stratos has feathers and a kind of downy texture to his limbs, which is a feature. But I guess we don’t see whoever this may be, so you’re right, it could be anyone’s guess.

The original 80s cartoon has an episode where Teela learns that the Sorceress is her Mother. However, at the end, the Sorceress wipes her memory, so she forgets.

And what angered me about the Kevin Smith story is he said he was a fan of the original, but he made Man-at-arms the sorceress' love interest and Teela's biological father. They made it very clear in the series, Teelas mother was the sorceress and Duncan was her ADOPTED father.

@jimmyc5553Which cartoon? There are at least five different versions, each with its own story. To me, the plot of this movie seems most inspired by the CGI animated series, where Adam is separated from his family as a child, grows up in a tribe, and later rediscovers his identity.

@damonpatterson8293 In an episode in season 1 of the Filmation cartoon (Teela's Quest), Queen Marlena says she was caught in a "cosmic storm." She says she's "a million miles from home and stuck in an asteroid shower." She then lands on Eternia. In an episode from season 2 (The Rainbow Warrior), she says she was hit by a meteor (it's in space, so it would be a meteoroid) and crashed on Eternia in her spaceship, The Rainbow Explorer. In that episode, she says she was a space pilot. Later in season 2 (Visitors From Earth), two people calling themselves astronauts on a mission to destroy a magnetic "meteor" (meteoroid) full of space junk, enter what looks to be a wormhole, and end up on Eternia. Queen Marlena tells one of the astronauts that she is from Earth and used to be an astronaut. Later in that episode, they compare the recorded data from the astronauts' ship to the recorded data of Marlena's ship and find that they match. This is the closest they come to saying that Queen Marlena entered a wormhole. As far as I remember, it is never explicitly stated in the cartoon that she was caught in a wormhole. Regardless of how she got to Eternia, she has always been from Earth. There is a comicbook published in 1982 that includes a 25th anniversary celebration for the arrival of Marlena to Eternia.

The statue in the comic shop is Vikor! Deep cut but he was chosen by the Goddess to help protect the Sword of He while all of Eternia waited for a true heir to be born. He got an action figure too!

Same, in fact my dad likes to recount the story of how he was headed up to a Seahawks game and saw the castle at Toy's R Us and there were stacks and stacks of them. They went to the game, planning to grab one on the way back and when he got to Toy's R Us, they were all gone. They searched for several days and were finally able to find one at Sears, of all places, on Christmas Eve.

In the cartoon, the Queen (Adam's mom) is from Earth.
On the original cartoon, Adam's mom came to eternia as an astronaut who got sucked through a worm hole. In one of the episodes two astronauts got sucked though the same wormhole and ended up in etetnia where he man went back through the wormhole with them to earth to save it from a comet or something.

Thanks for this! Love the clear, close up shots! For me, Adam pulling at the sword reminds me of Arthur pulling the sword in the stone before he is king. It also explains the first on set shots we saw last year, where Adam is arrested and his sword is taken away. I cannot wait to see this. The casting is perfect and even the music is awesome!
