    I just saw a video where the man changed the chain and the original spring worked just fine,,,, if you do this modification the chain will still be stretched beyond specs and can break for being over stretched. Change the chain first then your riding habits so that you do not stretch the chain and if you can't control yourself then this bike is not for you get a more expensive Tenere or Triumph Tiger which are built for more agressive riding and more expensive.

      We just compared the mechanical characteristics of the doohickeys.
      Some people cannot just change the chain anymore because the doohickey was prematurely broken and the entire engine is totally fuc*** 😂
      Another point is that… the torsion moment obtained from both stock and custom solution is almost the same.
      There are some basical formulas to design a spring.
      The chain will not work out of specs only due to spring substitution (that actually is an optional modification because the main one is just doohickey substitution)
