i never had that issue. i always saw him when i went to mine so just gave him a gift then
@@periwinklesprinkles since he often wanders near the mines at night I always had some presents in my inventory (for him and Linus) whenever I go to the mines. Sometimes their favorites, sometimes just plain universal like presents.

I don't know if this came with the recent 1.5 update, but I just had him (and Robin!) say that he tries to quit smoking, because he wouldn't want to die on me 😭😍

@@AshysWolfie19 So I'm guessing there's been an update about the spouse's room and their behavior after marriage and I'm glad since before the update Shane was legit the same progress as before you start to get to know him, bottles everywhere and his room being a complete mess as if he hasn't changed... :/

I literally gave him Quartz, Frozen Tears and Sashimi, he's literally the easiest one to date in my save file because once the game picked up I wasn't into Alex but Sebastian, somehow I kept on getting loads of Tears and Quartzes.
And once Linus got me the third heart, Sashimi became my route to his heart, we are now gay married and have 14 hearts

I have a personal headcanon that he's teasing the farmer when he says it. It's the same smile he uses when trying to scare them at the jellies festival, and just the same smile he uses when it's canonly established as him teasing them in other moments. And that just makes it all the cuter, for me

I waited outside of his house for hours waiting to give him shells when I first started. Highkey stalked him. ( I didn't know his favorite gifts or schedule)
so I built up a 8 heart relationship with Robin just to give his favorite pumpkin soup on his birthday
That's a very big boost if you want to get an easy 90x8 points and speedrun him to get to 10 hearts (provided you do have at least more than 6 hearts already)
