This song was written by Monica danneman who used to date Jimi hendrix and then got with Uli Jon Roth the lead guitarist on this song who imo is the guitar GOAT. this song is about Jimi Hendrix
To be clear, Monika wrote the lyrics. Rudolf Schenker wrote the music, except the guitar soloing is all Uli Jon Roth, possibly the greatest to ever pick up a guitar.
TOKYO TAPES (1978) I was 13 when I first heard this album and bought in 79. Got their autograph in record shop in 82. Back stage passes in 2010 and talked with band and 2nd row seats, I got 2 guitar picks and a drum stick. RATT opened for them in San Antonio Tx.
I will make two sets of comments, one describing the band and one describing the song. First the band. The Scorpions are from Hanover, Germany and put out their first album in 1971. They had two distinct phases, one a hard rock phase with this lead guitarist, Ulrich (Or Uli Jon) Roth and one after this album with a new lead guitarist and a more streamlined metal sound. This band was huge in Europe at the time of this album, but they didn’t start gaining popularity in the US until their Love at First Sting Album released in 1984. The band became one of the biggest hard rock/metal bands of the 80’s. They had three main parts to their style, minor key songs, harmony lead guitars and power ballads. They are known as the Kings of the power ballad, because they perfected a formula for making epic ones. Songs you might want to hear include Pictured Life, Longing for Fire, Your Light, Lovedrive, Always Somewhere, Make it Real, The Zoo, Lady Starlight, Blackout, No One Like You, Rock you Like a Hurricane, Still Loving You, Rhthym of Love, Passion Rules the Game, Believe in Love, Hit Between the Eyes, Wind of Change, No Pain No Gain, Under the Same Sun, Lonely Nights, Wild.Child, Soul Behind the Face and You and I. I know that’s a lot, but it is all good, enjoy.
I saw Roth play a mix of Scorps and Electric Sun songs live back in 2015 - it was great, and stayed around to chat with fans after the gig (nice fellow he was too).
🤘🔥🤘 Now ya know what it Do Dave! Best live album imho & Uli Jon Roth 💀 iza guitar LEGEND. He only plays his own custom Sky guitars now which. He has a background in classical which laid foundation of that neoclassical sound of early Scorps (fun fact Dimash fav genre is neoclassical). 🤘Uli Jon Roth does an acoustic classical guitar solo that is mind blowing. ^~^
TV show version is mimed to the original studio recording. This version of the song is much better. Uli rules!! Who can play like this? And this was 1978!! Incredible!!!
What is it with these fkn "reaction" videos ? Who are these people that they think we need their opinion to decide whether we like something or not ? Get a proper job mate.
by far the best version of we'll burn the sky

This is all correct. Master of the sky guitar
what a farewell tribute to that version of the Scorps, every song on this album was so well performed that they topped their studio versions
Fly to the rainbow . Classic track
Just for your information... the endling solo was completely improvised by Uli Roth...he´s playing freestyle here.
I have bowed to this album since I first heard it as a 13 year old kid in 1982, I still do.
I bought Tokyo Tapes when it was first released - still love to play it occasionally!
... I was barely 16 at the time (hey, it was 42 years ago!)
Keep rocking man!
Scorpions the best live band!!
Absolutely yes
Nobody will ever play like Uli. He has a lightness, he and the guitar are one
Lightness is a great description. He almost seems weightless as he plays.
Listen to all there LPs from 74 on every song is amazing and they are still writing today

I stopped in for the scorpions, we'll burn the sky reels me in every time, but I did enjoy your reaction. Well done.
Most fantastic tribute to Hendrix I've ever heard. Roth is pure emotion
Unbelievable song and great reaction.
@@gamanick421 the lyrics was written by Monika Dannemann, last Jimi Hendrix's girlfriend

Best song ever, thank you for your reaction! There also is a orchestra version which is EPIC, check it out :)
The orchestral version can’t touch this in a million years!
Cant help but to stank face for that incredible solo
Check out solo Uli stuff from his band ELECTRIC SUN.
I suggest "still so many lives away" as a starter to get a feel for him

@@richardthresh3587 I also did in Toronto. He actually let me play one of his sky guitars back stage. Very cool guy. Possibly the coolest
If you like that, you should hear UFO’s Rock Bottom from the live album Strangers In The Night, you’ll crap your pants!
I once had a drink with the Scorpions drummer playing on this CD and I let him sign it. Imho those early years were the best time of the band.
70s scorpions..pure vintage!you might like checkin out some of the lesser known bands of the NYOBHM era (e.g. tokyo blade-night of the blade).
Uli Jon Roth
Tokyo Tapes
Scorpions
Please react to "Fly to the Rainbow" from the same album.
Uli was doing volume swells during the ballad parts to give that back ground pad sound
Uli Jon Roth.....greatness
I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE BUT I HEARD THAT THE SONG WAS WRITTEN BY JIMI HENDRIX WIFE.
You got a good ear, Klaus Meine uses the tambourine a lot on stage. If you want a real trip try anything off the the Fly to the Rainbow album.
There’s no bass guitar until the drums kick in. What you’re hearing on the mellow parts is two guitars: rhythm and lead. Peace.
that panning is the rhythm guitar, Rudolf Schenker.
Dynamite 🔥🔥🔥

With all the "new to you" music you have now discovered, have you found Simply Three yet? If not, you should give them a try.
Nice.!.. Did you race to Inside Looking Out by Grand Funk?? Thanks man... Gat channel...
1976!
Do "This Side of Fate" by Alter Bridge. The song takes a wild turn that will throw you for a loop
We are miss your reactions to beatbox please react to sbx camp circle 2019 ❤️
Should have watched the tv show version first
This was a patron request. I guess I wanted me to see this version instead!
