Sporting Fan here In terms of tackles you cant compare Palhinha with Ugarte, Palhinha is better. When we hád them both, Palhinha started until he got injured, his 1st 90 minutes he played was against Benfica and he dominated the game. Since then, he started playing way more time than Palhinha which was One of the reasons we sold Palhinha. He will fit very well United, He is more ofensivo then palhinha, he is really good with the ball. In general I do believe Ugarte is a more complete player then palhinha.
Estes gajos disseram mesmo que o Ugarte não faz passes progressivos e que cobre mais espaço que o Palhinha. Eu acho que nem os próprios adeptos do Man United sabem o jogador do caralho que vão ter, se for bem aproveitado é claro.
Milanista here, absolutely no panic button yet. I think people's attention spans are way too short in football, it's been two games... Parma destroyed us and we don't look good at all, but I think the issues go beyond Fonseca and we have to look at what players the management is bringing in and selling (potentially getting rid of Saelemakers and Bennacer is crazy in my opinion). Either way, a rocky start is normal and I think we need some patience before calling for Fonseca's head

About the Palhinha and Ugarte debate... As a Sporting fan, you need to watch what Ruben Amorim said about the difference between Palhinha and Ugarte. Because let me tell you, as someone that watched them play ever since Sporting won the Primeira Liga with Amorim for the first time in 20 years, Palhinha and Ugarte are completely different style of players. And in 2024, when it comes to the CDM position for Sporting, it is the best position that it has ever been in the Ruben Amorim era because in my opinion Hjulmand is the best CDM that we had because I've never seen such sense of security when it comes to defensive solidity on Sporting's midfield. We had that solidity with Palhinha but it was never to this extent with Hjulmand. Before with Palhinha, Sporting played with a smart rigid mid-block defensive line in a 3-2-5 formation and it was very efective a versatile. Very similar to Conte's defensive blocks when in comes to structure and very similar to Bayern's defensive blocks when it comes to instructions. Then, when we sold Palhinha to Fulham for a bargain price of 20M€ (yes, it still baffles me to this day. WTF?), Sporting started to play with a high-block Gegenpressing defensive system. We had Ugarte in the CDM position and he convinced everyone in Portugal the season prior that he was ready could take on the role as a starting CDM. Generally, this did not go well for Sporting that season. Palhinha, Pedro Porro and Matheus Nunes were gone, new tactics to adapt to and with the terrible mismanagement of Sporting's board that season really affected the performances on the pitch. Even though, Ugarte did well that season as being of the best ball-winning midfielders, it did not help the fact that connection between defense and attack was really bad and also the fact that there was no cohesion in Sporting's midfield was the worst part. Yeah, that season Sporting finished 4th in the league which it was terrible for a club of Sporting's caliber. (To give context, this is as bad as if AC Milan finished 7th in Serie A or Manchester United finishing 8th in the Premier League.) All of this happened because of terrible management of Sporting's board and the consistent poor performances in the league due to tactics of the high-press system not working, the lack of presence of a clinical nº 9 and the lack of and anchor in midfield were some of the problems of Sporting that season. Despite the performances of Ugarte being good that season, it did not help the fact that we lacked the presence of a number 6 that could connect the defense and the attack and also being a anchor like Palhinha was. Last season, when Sporting signed Hjulmand from Lecce, he became the missing piece in the midfield that we needed and he was amazing at being the best defensive midfielder in the league last season. (And no, it was not João Neves. Don't @ me because we know it is not true. Just look at the Sporting-Benfica matches that happened for the Primeira Liga and see whose midfield was in control of said matches.) And this season, he became Sporting's captain after our Legend, "El Patron" Sebastian Coates left Sporting. Back to the topic of Ugarte and Palhinha, in the press conference after the signing of Hjulmand to Sporting, Ruben Amorim was asked about the difference between all of these players. Basically, what Ruben said was that Palhinha, Ugarte and Hjulmand cannot be compared because they are players with different styles and profiles. So, it is unfair to do a comparison between Palhinha and Ugarte. Great episode guys! This was a joy to watch. Keep up the good work!

Love your videos, you guys are my fav football channel on youtube, but you kinda got it wrong on the Barça registration part. First, it's not about the champions league, it's about the la liga registration. Second, what happened was that christensen got injured, and even according to la liga who have to check the documents and verify the reports themselves, the injury could last between 2 months and 4 months, so it's not just that Barça said that out of nowhere. So, according to the la liga rules, olmo was allowed to be registered instead of christensen. But according to reports, in case christensen returns before january, he wouldn't actually have to wait until january to be registered, he can be registered right away if there is enough salary space, which will be probably be sorted by then thanks to the new Barça deal with Nike. Anyway thanks guys, love the videos, just wanted to make the situation a bit more clear.
As a Real Madrid fan, I'm so disappointed with the playstyle, the attacks were really bad from the team and it felt like they had no idea how to penetrate the defence of fkin Valladolid 😅. One of the few positives I see is Valverde playing as arguably the best box to box player in the world and Brahim keeping his form and desire at 💯
@@علي-ظ9ر6ه almost every attack they had they played offside, yet I see so many United fans talking like they were creating loads and were simply unlucky 😂
@@EPLClips33 they were never up 2-1 don’t know what you’re on about😂. Neither of the Brighton goals were trash, I don’t understand why this is a running theme with fans. A good team will look to capitalise on mistakes made by the other team which is what we did, just because United made errors which led to the moves we made it doesn’t lessen the quality of the moves themselves.
question for the next podcast: the Feyenoord vs Ajax game should have been on 01 september, but the police said that they as a protest against a new rule weren't working that day. And even tho there are no away fans allowed for more than 10 years now already. The home supporters are still doing things like attacking the away team bus. So the game got cancelled becasue there is police needed at a game like this. What is your opinion about how some fans act against rival teams/fans? Because its always a small group that does dangerous things. So do you think its part of it or do you think they are going to far?
Do you guys think Barca should retire Messi number 10, and loose a player place in the squad? (In La liga all the player numbers got to be between 1 and 25 so if you retire a number you can anly have 24 players in the squad)
As a Chelsea fan, I don't resonate with the other delusional members of our fanbase. Realistically, we will finish either 5th or 6th or hopefully make top 4 (as Fourth) at best. The only silverware we might get is the Carabao Cup (hopefully we don't face Liverpool once again 🥲😤) and if we try hard enough we might lift the Conference League. To sum up I'd say I'm just a bit more optimistic compared to previous seasons, thanks to Cole Palmer's performance last season, plus a clear tactical idea by Maresca and an abundance of quality players in every position in case of injuries to our starting XI. Let's just wait and see. COYB! 🔵⚪
