Wicked First Day in Tunisia, North Africa 🇹🇳

- Welcome to Tunisia! A country we've wanted to visit for ages and we're finally here! Our first time in North Africa actually!
We're kicking our Tunisia trip off in the capital city Tunis. We started our day with a classic Tunisian sandwich and I've gotta be honest probably one of the best sandwiches out there.
We then hit the flea markets of Tunis and met some characters before working our way into Tunis medina. Here we had a right nosey around and realised Tunisia is nothing like the scammy places you hear about in North Africa.
We then tried our first Tunisian mint tea before going for some lablebi, a classic Tunisian dish loved by all.
After this we headed to downtown Tunis where we had a fresh pineapple juice and chilled out on the easy going streets.
To get home we took the Tunis metro which wasn't the best ahah, it was cheap but the thing was a proper sardine can.
First day in Tunis, Tunisia was class 🇹🇳

Bonjour from sunny Lancashire ! Enjoy your merguez .Brik a l'oeuf is delish too .Sidi bou Said is lovely - check out the doors .
Hey!! Not so sunny at the minute!! Merguez is my new found love aha. Thanks for tuning in!
Glad you've got the chance to try a proper Lablebi, Weld El Commissar (the resto you tried) is one of the oldest and best at it. And since you're staying close to Bardo I recommend you visit the Bardo Museum. You might as well take good care around Mefteh Saadallah, you're a station away from one of the sketchiest neighbourhoods in Tunis, even us locals try to avoid taking the metro. Enjoy your stay !
It's so good we're loving Tunisian food! Yeah our friends said it's dodgy aha our apartment got raided for migrants while here ahah! Also had a run in with some aggressive young lads on the metro going past our stop!
the tunisian express coffee is usually fast pressed so it's concentrated bitter coffee, if you want a little ligher you might try "allongé" or "demi allongé" wich is pressed for longer time to let more water flow in the cup, if you want milk in ask for a capuccin or a direct(cafe creme) witch is basicall a cappucin with extra milk
Thanks for the info!!
Wow. Very nice as usual 👌 😊
Thanks Julia! This was a fantastic trip!
@@EllisWR your welcome 🙏 I'm glad 😊 it's good to know 😊
enjoy guys, there are lots of other places you need to visit, the cultural landscape in Tunis is just awesome. Try and visit Zaghouan, Soussa, Mahdia, Dogga, El JEM, Nabeul, and YOU HAVE TO GO TO DJERBA! (and try some Tunisian wine) Cheers!
Hey stay tuned we will go to some sick places! Not the main tourist spots were here for the best of Tunisia! 🇹🇳🙏❤️

Ahh😫 the comments look empty without turks fighting kurds lol.
By the way I'm kurd and this is actually my first time enjoying more than 45 mins videos.
To be honest the greeting that you received by Kak Mahmood and his wife from Soran in" kidnapped in Kurdistan " video of yours, took my attention and brought me here to your channel. and then i enjoyed your other Kurdistan videos cause i could see many places that i haven't been before in Kurdistan.
But then, bro i just realized it was not just Kurdistan which stopped me from skipping any 10 secs, your videos are SOMETHİNG ELSE !! and i've already started watching your old ones too since then.
You and your wife are kind people and you deserve to be treated well ,i can see humanity in both of you🤍İ hope you two stay like that for the rest of your life and enjoy your amazing choice of living this way
All love from Kurdistan Kalar to wherever u are☀️🏔️

The city of Tunisia was founded in 698 AD and has the oldest university in the world (according to Oxford University), which is the University of Zaytouna.

Watching your videos makes me hungry!!!!
Too much good food everywhere!
Welcome to Tunisia ❤️🇹🇳
I like your energy 🫶🫶
Thanks so much we appreciate you!!
my advices for you as a tunisian and because you are on a budget trip : first tunisia is very beautiful place , the food is amazing , a lot of history , the weather is nice
- , do not pay just like that ask for the menu and the taxi ask first how much max is 10 dinars before you take a cab tunsians are not bad but some waiters or taxi drivers they scam because the economic situation is bad right now lol sorry .
- move away from tunis downtown go to hammamet , nabeul , soussa , djerba , la marsa
- go to the beach now it is summer a lot of fun , there is a pirate ship you can try it
Really appreciate it thanks! I agree it's fantastic here. People have been honest and kind everywhere apart from Sousse ahah! I hope you enjoy the videos we will be visiting some interesting places!
True about locals not wanting to give foreigners spicy food. In Yaowarat a street food place refused to sell me spicy sausages only gave me real bland one and only cabbage to eat with it no chilies.
It's the bane of our lives. Condemned to eternal misery ahaha
It's strange because lots of foreigners have eaten hot foods. Spicy means nothing.. spicy is flavour. Heat is another thing. I have had some of the hottest curries in my life, in small town Canada, made by folks who make up the largest Punjab diaspora in the world. Spicy does not mean hot. You can have a very spicy tomato sauce for spaghetti and it has no heat to it.
@@JayandSarah I thought spicy ment it's bloody hot and burns your insides ahah.
To be fair I get it cos I only know about 5 other foreigners who can tank hot food down whereas majority would order anything and ask for no bloody chilli!!
Us blanquitas have to live with the pica prejudice :'(
@@EllisWR got it! Yeah you can have spicy food but no heat. The two things are separate. There is no hot stuff here where we are in Montenegro at the moment... we bought the "HOT SALSA" and it was a mild disappointment. I was looking for heat. We did manage to find some pickled hot peppers though in the supermarket that are a right throat burner.
I loved your adventure some risk coming out but you've managed it i liked it
You seemed like you've been there before
Felt like people looked after us everywhere pretty well 🙏🇹🇳 first time here and we're loving it!

I advise you to visit Sidi Bou Said, which is considered the first city to use the colors white and blue and is ranked as the third most beautiful village in the world for the year 2024. I also advise you to visit Carthage, Hammamet, Sousse, El Kantaoui, Hergla, Djerba Island, Tabarka, Ain Draham, known for its snow in the winter, and Bizerte, where the highest point in Africa is located. I also advise you to visit Monastir and Mahdia, the capital of the Fatimid state, known for its white and green colors, and Kairouan, the capital of the Aghlabid state, known as the fourth of the three after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. Kairouan comes in fourth place as the most important Islamic city, and Gafsa, where the first civilization in the world is located, which is the Capsian civilization, and Tozeur, known for its palm trees and desert nature, and Tataouine, known for its underground houses, and the list is long for the cities that you can visit and get to know in Tunisia.
