Growing up I IDOLIZED Gerardo…. I lost touch of him and his music for decades… I found God… I was digging thru old school music reminiscing and found this…I guess I did turn out like him. I’m by no means a pastor or a Christian, but I gave my life to God when I too had enough… 19 years l, in about 3 days, I’ll be sober… it’s all God at the wheel…. So many similarities…. Thank you for sharing this Gerardo, my brother was such a big fan, he was always singing and rapping too, in spanish and english, let his hair grow, he'd always say he looked like Gerardo cuz he had his long curly hair, skinny fit guy, kind of looked a lot like you. He never let God into his life and unfortunately he never had a chance to find him, he died at 31 from a brain tumor, I always wonder if his outcome would have been different had he prayed and let God into his life. We were all born here in the states but raised in Ecuador, our parents are from Quito, so we always related to you a lot. We know what its like to live in both countries. Too me his 2nd album is awesome because everytime i hear it. Is really special to me more than nostalgia. All i listen to is 90s music amd nothing but artists from 90s that still making music till this day. This old musician have real struggle story we can relate too. Even if they stop making albums just 1, 2. Doesn't matter i listen to them as if they were a 1 hit single forever. My collection is my influence + motivation ect. Plus you can tell by these past artist from the 90s spew a few things about God. Now a day this so called artist say nothing. Shame. That why i respect all my 90s people. God will make us stronger last true Generation. 90s for life! lets take it to the future. I know alot of some 90s celebrities gave or has God in there life now.

Wow, what a story and what a journey. I saw some of that journey fairly up close back in the day as a musician and I would watch his show every single night from the side of the stage. I even attended his wedding in Vegas. I am happy to see what looks to be a very happy ending with a beautiful family. I'm sick, and I won't live a long life, but when you don't have as much time as you would like, you concentrate on quality instead of quantity. I'm ok with that. Obviously, I would love to live a long life, but we have to accept what we have and make the very best of it. I tuely feel God in my heart. It hasn't been that way in a very long time but I'm ready for whatever comes next. I do have a small bucket list, that I would like to do before the end of my physical body, but my biggest goal is to find a way to share what I was, what I am now and what the difference is between the two. I guess my main goal is to find a way to share my experience with thousands so that I may help thousands or just one soul realize God is real, he is here and he is forever. If I can help just one soul turn to Jesus and save their soul, my life would have had more meaning than I could have ever put into words. God doesn't find you. He is always there waiting for you to acknowledge and accept him. You can't find Jesus. He's not lost. You are lost until you accept Jesus. He's always been right there with you from the beginning no matter what you've done. I just want to find a way to reach as many people as possible, because being without God is a loneliness you can't begin to understand, but being with God, well if you're with God, then there is no explanation needed.

The record industry knew they were setting him up as a gimmick. They do that alot to the youth who just want to have fun and be famous and bring entertainment to the world. They did that to vanilla ice, mc hammer, and lots others. Little did they know their charisma, charm, and love of music brought alot of great memories (school dances, weddings, quinces, b-day parties, etc) for many generations and across cultures. When I'm struggling I give God thanks every morning for waking me up, now now that I have a good job and I'm just tired now, I feel like I don't have time for family, I forget to thank God every day! Much respect to Gerardo. I love that he tells the ugly truth about fame and Hollywood, but most importantly, I deeply *DEEPLY* respect his humility, and the way he was real about how unhappy he was, while still putting on that front of "living the good life" and all that, but most important of all, I love his deep faith in Christ. I've never been famous or probably had even a fraction of the amout of women Gerardo had, but I can relate to "blaming God" -THE SAME GOD THAT BLESSED ME BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS, for bad situations that *I* got myself into... Bad situations that *I* created for myself because of foolish pride, ego, selfishness, feeling sorry for *myself* rather than all the people... people that love me that *I* hurt, while I was being selfish, foolish and just immature... NOW, I know that, even though I'm still a sinner, as I am still a human, and I still have many ammends to make to people I deeply hurt, I'm a "work in progress" ...I'm still learning every day, and I KNOW that God is blessing me every day, and I believe that TODAY, I'm a little bit better man than I was yesterday... last week... last year. I'm blessed to have a beautiful Christian wife that makes me want to be a better Christian, though I still have a long way to go before I would dare to call myself a "great" -or even a "good Christian" ...I'm only a man trying to take steps to head in the right direction and forming a better relationship with Jesus.

Wow, what a story and what a journey. I saw some of that journey fairly up close back in the day as a musician and I would watch his show every single night from the side of the stage. I even attended his wedding in Vegas. I am happy to see what looks to be a very happy ending with a beautiful family. We all thought it was a happy story the entire way, but you never really know do you? Now I know and I'm even more impressed. Congrats Bro.
I am really not sure how I got to this page. I guess for some.reason I was thinking what ever happened to Rico Suave..and of course, I google him and this pops up. Wow !!! @@GerardoMejiaMusic yes he did my friend. God is great!!! I don't have any answers, but I'm still here. I don't know what I'm supposed to do, but I have an open mind, heart and soul. I'm sick, and I won't live a long life, but when you don't have as much time as you would like, you concentrate on quality instead of quantity. I'm ok with that. Obviously, I would love to live a long life, but we have to accept what we have and make the very best of it. I tuely feel God in my heart. It hasn't been that way in a very long time but I'm ready for whatever comes next. I do have a small bucket list, that I would like to do before the end of my physical body, but my biggest goal is to find a way to share what I was, what I am now and what the difference is between the two. I guess my main goal is to find a way to share my experience with thousands so that I may help thousands or just one soul realize God is real, he is here and he is forever. If I can help just one soul turn to Jesus and save their soul, my life would have had more meaning than I could have ever put into words. God doesn't find you. He is always there waiting for you to acknowledge and accept him. You can't find Jesus. He's not lost. You are lost until you accept Jesus. He's always been right there with you from the beginning no matter what you've done. I just want to find a way to reach as many people as possible, because being without God is a loneliness you can't begin to understand, but being with God, well if you're with God, then there is no explanation needed.
Well, it's been a year my friend. I'm still homeless. I'm alone , but I'm not lonely. Hope all is well for you. May God bless you my friend.

The record industry knew they were setting him up as a gimmick. They do that alot to the youth who just want to have fun and be famous and bring entertainment to the world. They did that to vanilla ice, mc hammer, and lots others. Little did they know their charisma, charm, and love of music brought alot of great memories (school dances, weddings, quinces, b-day parties, etc) for many generations and across cultures. GOD bless you and your family always and forever. Praise Jesus, Prince of Peace, Savior of all mankind.
Man I'm so happy I saw this video, Gerardo you are so right! I can relate in a way. When I'm struggling I give God thanks every morning for waking me up, now now that I have a good job and I'm just tired now, I feel like I don't have time for family, I forget to thank God every day! SMH but when I remember, it might be 4pm I thank god and humbly apologize for not "Thanking him as soon as he gave me another breathe of day"

I love that he tells the ugly truth about fame and Hollywood, but most importantly, I deeply *DEEPLY* respect his humility, and the way he was real about how unhappy he was, while still putting on that front of "living the good life" and all that, but most important of all, I love his deep faith in Christ.
I've never been famous or probably had even a fraction of the amout of women Gerardo had, but I can relate to "blaming God" -THE SAME GOD THAT BLESSED ME BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS, for bad situations that *I* got myself into... Bad situations that *I* created for myself because of foolish pride, ego, selfishness, feeling sorry for *myself* rather than all the people... people that love me that *I* hurt, while I was being selfish, foolish and just immature... NOW, I know that, even though I'm still a sinner, as I am still a human, and I still have many ammends to make to people I deeply hurt, I'm a "work in progress" ...I'm still learning every day, and I KNOW that God is blessing me every day, and I believe that TODAY, I'm a little bit better man than I was yesterday... last week... last year.
I'm blessed to have a beautiful Christian wife that makes me want to be a better Christian, though I still have a long way to go before I would dare to call myself a "great" -or even a "good Christian" ...I'm only a man trying to take steps to head in the right direction and forming a better relationship with Jesus.
