Once 20 meter band stays solid, but closes in on s9 station range, 15 is about to let you continent hop, might even get Australia, bouncing above the Gulf of Mexico stations. 10 meter is a tide to tide time dx band, nearly everyday, and 6 meter is an f layer or tropo-ducting band.
Good coaxial cable balun as we put on antenna has number of advantages compared to ferrite balun. Air balun have proven common mode impedance that does not saturate with higher powers. Coaxial balun can not be blown by high power or SWR. Maximal power on antenna depends only on used coaxial cable and connector. On this antenna you can put as much power as you can up to the moment you melt coaxial cable or connector.
Put it in pvc or an old hollowed out power pole transformer housing full of epoxy, and it will be worth $500 and not be tacky, it does truely hurt the asthetic looks...lol
Another proven great performer!

Beautiful antenna. Most impressive. BUT...... to build such a nice antenna and use coiled up coax for a balun? How disgusting !
