Hi Alan, I’m glad you like the film. There were lots of people who commented on it when I posted it on the Annan history Facebook page too. My granny Helen was from Annan, daughter of John Urquhart who was the auctioneer’s yardsman at the old mart, which is now Lidl. They lived in 6 Butts Street which is now the Quarter Cake Cafe. Helen married Robert Wilson, my Grandfather, who had a keen interest in photography and cine film. He was in the RAF in the war and then the Meteorological Office as a Weather Forecaster, so they moved around a lot. He filmed a lot of visits to Annan including this film, there are also films of the riding of the marches in the 50s and the market, as well as family weddings etc. I inherited the collection of films recently and have been getting them digitised and uploading to share on RUclips.
