I was on a banana boat going 25 mph with salt water slapping/spraying my face and the ORIGINAL Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation did not budge. I was using the original since it came out (2012 I think) and it was labeled waterproof back then. It was also promoted as a skin enhancer and it truly bettered my skin by using it regularly. However, I could tell throughout the past 10 years that the formula changed maybe 1-2 times. There was a loose setting powder from around 2013 that had 5 ingredients and it was the best powder ever. In 2015, Tarte was sold and the powder had added talc and other fillers. Tarte is continuously worsening their brand. My Christmas wish is that they bring back the old formula.
Well, this is ominous. I have the previous version of the Amazonian Clay Foundation and it's my holy grail. I don't really want to have to search for a new foundation if this doesn't perform the same.
I saw people selling the dark brown tube original version which I don’t know how old it is for $70 a tube. 😡 the new one looks like it’s a little bit more yellow. I think I’m going to have to go to Ulta and see if they have the new version and try a lighter color and hope to God that it’s the same velvety goodness that I’m using right now.
I never used this foundation, although my absolute favorite tarte foundation is the rainforest of the sea foundation. Repurchased 5x and over 50 and makes my skin look great .

Is the brush not the same as the original? I read one review on the site that it's too soft not as dense but I dunno if that person has the old one. I wanted to buy it cuz I have the airbrush loose foundation and the original clay but now I'm worried it's not the same.
I really want to see how this foundation works too if you mix it in with a tinted hydrator (Urban Decay's Hydrator, or Wet n' Wild tinted hydrator). I think this foundation looked fine on you, but I have seen better. It does look better once it has mix with your natural oils, but looks like it can be a bit cakey looking in some areas.
I’m so glad you spoke about that face wash in a previous video bc I had it sitting in my closet waiting to try it out lol. Not worth the risk with my sensitive skin tho so it’s in the trash
It is an AMAZING mix in. I use it with the Tarte tinted moisturizer and it works great! I’ve also used it with the Rodan + Fields tinted moisturizer and it worked great with that too.

This new version of this foundation definitely runs lighter than the other version. I got light neutral and I immediately could tell it was more fair than light. So I have to get light-medium or I’ll look like a ghost. Considering the fact everyone says it melts off, I don’t think I’ll be getting a new shade though. I have other foundations that stay put that I love.

Girl, I love you, but these reviews are becoming increasingly frantic, to the point that they give me anxiety. Plus, can we please hear less about your bodily fluids. We are fully aware that you perspire a lot, I myself suffer with hyperhidrosis, but I don't go around telling people all the time, and you must have said 'sweat' in various forms every few seconds. "Never cakes nor creases" my ass. I tried using the original Amazonian Clay foundation, and never have I felt more disappointed with something so hyped. Came off any time I blew my nose or would rub off on clothes, made my pores look like craters, it slid because of how oily my skin is, and the neutral shades are SO gray. I tried the "new and improved" formula to give it the benefit of the doubt, and I call it the Chicago L because of how much it transfers. Either way, I love your channel, and it's good to find someone on RUclips with a similar skin tone and has very oily skin (also fellow Midwesterner). It's a great reference
I lived by the Amazonian clay foundation 10 years ago. I still think it gives amazing coverage.. I’m just a bit drier now so not sure it would work anymore for my skin but the coverage was fantanstic
I just bought this foundation but the shade is soooo light (and I got a light medium shade) and it feels super heavy on my skin. I might mix it with my tinted hydrator
Tarte messed up the shades with their new creamy concealer too. I usually use a 22B shade in the original Shape Tape for my darkest self-tan days. The 22b in the creamy version is actually too light for me when I have zero tan. So weird.

Please try the Tarte serum hydro something in a little teal squeeze tube!!! Please! Not too many influencers have tried it but those that have, liked it. Also there tarte stick concealer, in a white twist up container is supposed to be really good too. I don’t think the hydrocencealer is anything special like the foundation. Please try them.

I have yet to find a foundation that works well with sweat and oily skin! I use Nars now and it also comes off in this Texas heat so I would definitely try this foundation. Thanks for your honest review.
The only foundation I’ve ever tried/used that truly does not come off whatsoever with sweat and oil is the Estée Lauder DW. It’s very waterproof/sweat proof. Everything proof. If you only want light coverage then use a sponge with it and don’t use very much. Foundations such as NARS soft matte and L’Oréal infallible are also good but definitely not as “strong” at staying in place as the Estée Lauder.

I have very oily skin and so far the best foundation I've found is Fenty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte, even compared to Estee Lauder DW. There are a few techniques with setting spray, setting powder, and primer that help too!

Curious, have you tried Danessa Myricks Vision cream cover foundation & concealer? It seems to be super duper concentrated to only need tiny bit for full coverage but still thin. But I haven't tried it personally. I usually prefer sheer coverage base now and just spot conceal my acne.
I bought the Amazonian clay foundation years ago and loved it. Wore it for almost a year. Then it seemed like all the sudden I couldn’t wear it. It looked horrible. Settled into lines and made my skin like dry and nasty. Don’t know if my skin changed or the formula Changed but it does have great coverage and stays on well if it works for your skin. I’m older and have dry skin So it’s a no for me

I work in a warehouse and it’s of course it’s super hot inside. If it’s 70 outside it’s 100 degree inside. I’m on a hunt for a foundation for combo/Dry Skin that’s sweat resistant and last 8+ hours a day . I’ve tried the Anastasia Luminous, Wet n wild photo focus both Matte and dewy the Milani conceal and perfect and hated them 😮💨 so if anyone has any recommendations I would really appreciate it ! :)
I love the Loreal Infallible 12 hour foundation! I wore it all summer long during hot day weddings that were outside and it lasted me, hope it works for you :)

It's a reformulated version if the old foundation. Not really that confusing.

You complain about how and where they word things in the description you're just reading and I don't think I've ever heard someone reviewing complain about the number of people they supposedly tested. Come on! Do you really want to grow your channel? I'd likely have just stopped at that point if I had just came upon your video.
Give your subscribers something they can't simply get on their own by going onto the stores website and reading verbatim what it says. ANYONE can do that 😔

I work in a warehouse and it’s of course it’s super hot inside. If it’s 70 outside it’s 100 degree inside. I’m on a hunt for a foundation for combo/Dry Skin that’s sweat resistant and last 8+ hours a day . I’ve tried the Anastasia Luminous, Wet n wild photo focus both Matte and dewy the Milani conceal and perfect and hated them 😮💨 so if anyone has any recommendations I would really appreciate it ! :)
I love the Loreal Infallible 12 hour foundation! I wore it all summer long during hot day weddings that were outside and it lasted me, hope it works for you :)
