That is not necessarily true, he is running a 6s motor on 8s, using not very good lipos, and running 10 degrees of motor timing on a brand of motor that tells you to run 0 because they catch escs on fire. It might be a fault with his escs but saying he did nothing wrong is ignorant.
@@masonkaye5 it’s happening all over the world I’ve seen multiple posts on Instagram about them blowing up
@@hydroracer5514 You are absolutely right, but not all of them are due to the product being faulty, probably 10% of the fires are user error and I think that at least the second fire was user error.
when you cut the wire, spark comes out.
it's mean that esc did short circuit your battery. that's dangerous man.
yep
@@KevinTalbotTV Check your Wire cutters they probably have a hole in them I have done the same thing but with a car battery
@@Nitro-er8ul usually that comes when you cut 2 wires at once though. Kev only cut one wire effectively series decoupling the esc.
Yes, that can happen when two or more of the ESC's mosfets are burned, they literally cause a short-circuit then.
@@adrock0801 👍
I believe you man... I mean it makes sense. I mean we just watched it all happen nearly again and then all you did was swap out the ESC and boom everything works with no unwanted side effects such as you know fire... its clear you spend big bucks to bring us entertainment and I've watched you call out other bad and good products as well. I have no doubt in my mind that you are bringing only the truth to the table. I love the fact that you test all these things and bash until something breaks. I have been out of the hobby for about 13 years at this point and then came across one of your videos about a week ago. since then and now I have watched probably 100 so you've brought me back into this hobby and showed me how much I've missed it. I'm poor as hell at this point as being disabled doesn't pay all that well but I'm gonna check out your Ebay stuff and see if I cant turn that around for myself somehow and in the mean time I'm gonna try to put some money together and cross my fingers and hope like hell that I can pick up a KRATON and jump head first back into this stuff. Thanks for the inspiration man. Sorry for the book. Just wanted to say keep up the awesome content!
We will Always Trust Kevin.
I love how you try a potential bomb right next to your Lambo 🤣🤣
🤣🤣 it was next to the fire door!!
@@KevinTalbotTV Mate. I love all your work and even more so how you keep up with your fans.
Much Love from South Africa
Tbh... I thought the same thing but hey it's just a car right!
I was going to say the same I couldn't believe he tried it next to the lambo lmao SMH 🤣 love the videos Kev
Dont worry EBay will give make him enough to buy another one 😂😂😂
Ummm that guy who didn’t know how tires caught fire... does he know that fires spread?
Haha nice pfp
He said they were rubber for F@#$& sake... Go pause and read his post he said the "rubber"... aren't those tires foam ones?
Its discount kev!!
The fire doesn't half to touch the foam. Heat itself can cause combustion. Especially with combustible fumes.
Probably not
Sounds like castle’s in the crapper, wont buy anything from them till this is fixed....
Your integrity is beyond question sir. Do not listen to the horde of idiots trying to blame you or something other than those esc’s. Those esc’s are absolute shite. Period.
Kev don't worry about people talking smack, your videos are amazing and we all appreciate it. 🤙
castle will never be cold stranded in a forest lol
Yes all you need in your survival kit, is an xlx2 and 8s lipos. ;)
Lol
Kev my XL 2 went up in flames too
There has to be something wrong
Yes but it's not Kev because I was like just going 10mph but it went in flames soo I think it's the XL2 not working well
Hmmm wonder what moron robert@castle would say
@@noluckpureskill9985 same
@@noluckpureskill9985 I am going to buy a new one and opened it up a look Wat is the problem is
Looks like castle has a couple ESC they need to warranty due to faulty product. otherwise i wouldnt buy castle anymore
I don't know if I would trust another Castle .I would expect a refund
I mean... at least a recall for the product
@@fuckngreat8955 At the very least . I agree
I had a faulty max6 once and even tho it was over a year old they replaced it for nothing without blaming anything I did. Castle on the other hand they clearly have a faulty batch of esc's and I doubt they will reach out to Kev and try to sort out the (expensive) issue
@@russellcupples2170 it would be best if they did a full refund and maybe a $20 coupon code for the inconvenience and the car burning down,
And if theyre a good company they might want to take them back to figure out the reason they catch on fire, and improve the product
Have to tip my hat to Kevin. You come to this channel and he doesn't act like he knows more than anyone else. He asks for advice from the viewers. He gives his perspective.
Hi Kevin love your videos. I did however notice in the product disclaimer that it mentions that you should not be revving the motor and esc without a load in the motor, I.E conneccted to the pinion, drive shaft and wheel assembly. It did mention somewheres that reving the motor without its full load on is bad for it. Good luck with the monster truck build mate ! My thoughts are that you should have an official source come and inspect it before you fire it up.
I wasn't sure if I should
stick to Hobbywing. Thank's for making up my mind Kev, You lost money so I wouldn't. Reason why I'm a long time subscriber
Bro you don't lie I know for a fact it's always honesty with you another top shelf video Kev thanks
There’s no way the fire is staged, I don’t think Kev would set a $1000+ car with loads of time worked in to it on fire.
Well, the income in views would be worth it however i dont believe its staged. I've hearf of many castle esc setting on fire. The 8s xmaxx did this out of the box too so its not unlikely
@@russellparker4568 late reply sorry but like he owns a £300,000 lambo, so like i dont think the one grand would make him destroy £500 worth of parts.
I don't know why anyone says it staged it's like "ah yes so mister internet know it all you clearly know more about my videos than myself" yes some people set up videos for views but I highly doubt Kevin is like that at all
is that comment suppost to be a hate comment?
Most honest reviews online I've seen... No BS reviews guess the manufacturers don't like the bad publicity...
Thanks very much for showing you LiPos, how you solder connectors, and the testing and comparison. Looks like there is a design fault that is leading to a short in the XLX2. I appreciate your videos and this one was educational as well as entertaining.
I was hesitating to change over to the new connectors... but I have so many fewer to change than you do it now seems like an easy job! ;)
Good response from a company: "We're so sorry to hear you had such a dangerous fault with our product. Here, we set it up so you can send us the unit at no cost to yourself so we can figure out what happened."
Bad response from a company: "Yeah mate, you faked it for views. Our product is perfect."
Yeah castle need to make some sort of statement this is getting ridiculous. If one goes kaboom and hurts someone... *lawsuit, lawsuit, lawsuit*
Read the rest of that email on screen....they admit to having a higher than average failure rate, along with a "temporary fix". For the price and hype of Castle stuff, it should be MORE reliable than a Hobbywing.
if they really wanted decent press they would of offered to exchange the blown up ones for new ones
@@imchris5000 yeah they should trouble is they will prob go puff the magic dragon as well lol maybe a refund and offer of comp for the damage done as a result would be wise but doubt they would do the right thing
Castles have been known to smoke for years im not surprised at all
9:58 if you listen at the beat of the notes and the beeps of the ESC they match and it's cool 😀
Came here to compliment on the same thing, a nice touch
Did anyone else notice how perfectly this lined up the little jingle and the music lined up perfectly9:58
Good job as always Kevin...real RC fans don't doubt you.
I had the same thing happen to me yesterday it went up in smoke and flames. I know i followed all the information you need to do with it. And it still went up in flames come on.
It definitely was not staged. Kev is in the right State of Mind to not stage things like that fire
Thanks for your honest reviews, you have saved me alot of money over the years.
9:58 that syncing...
ikr
Let em talk. People always take offense when others have a negative opinion of their favorite “thing”, whatever it may be. I enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work man!
"Wow! We've been alerted to a potentially terrible fault with our ESCs? Should we reach out to him and get the ESCs to diagnose this?"
"Nah, let's just say it looks fake and move on. No potential for lawsuits there."
Love your unbiased testing. You care for non of them its up to the product to show its worthyness. Keep up the tough testing love your work. 👍👍👍
Thank you!
I just love your energy even when things doesn't goes as planned.
we got scorched rc
hot racing
and now castle creamations
even three years later and this vid is still crazy
-keep up the awesome vids
I think one of the capacitors went.. they normally should soak the voltage spike.
Deffo not normal indeed Kev, cant believe people have the guts to say it was staged...
Keep it up
First kev love the vids keep it up!!!
“NEXT ESC” nice one kev😂😂
I was about to get an XLX2, but after seeing this video, I’m going to go stick with hobby wing.
This is why I prefer hobbywing over castle any day
I fully believe you Kev. I think that that solvent could be an issue if it was fresh out of the box like yours, and blipping and esc shouldn't make it catch fire, and it's probably a company trying to cover their faults.
You tell them Kevin u are the most honest person on youtube.
My friend blew up the exact same ESC at the race track and it was only an hour old
W.o.w.
Those are reallybad Theo
Man this reminds me of 2 years ago when my family was busy constructing some stuff and the gas tank was left on and when the neighbor went to smoke it all went to hell. Same thing happened again in june. Terrible birthday for me .
your family must really hate your neighbour
Castle need to recall this product from all retailers and get on to their design team to fix this rather than accusing Kev of telling lies.
That’s millions of dollars to do that it’s easier to say it was operating error
@@mikecrystalrobert7898 ill be curious to what the lawsuit figures will be when someone burns their house down with their family inside
1:05 "At least it can't get much worse". Thats the spirit!
Leave Kev alone the man has no reason to stage a stupid fire on a toy come on. Thank you for all you do Kev
Was like there's no way he's testing it next to the lambo! Glad he took it outside lol
haha
Just got a e Revo for Christmas and took it snow bashing, so much fun!!

Ya like jazz?
@@ollieswift1091 yes yes I love jazz
Thank you for posting this, Kev. I was considering buying one of these ESC units until I saw they were catching fire on everyone.
I believe you Kev! 100%. After having watched what must be 100s of videos of yours now, i find you honest and trustworthy! Having Castle emploees saying its staged is unbelievable. They just lost a customer. Hi Hobbywing, you just gained a new customer.
He was totally trying to remove or distance the blame from their company. C'mon dude!! Why on earth would you stage a fire and try to catch fire to your own stuff? People love trolling, Kev! Keep doing you and informing us with honesty and utmost responsibility that you do!
Dude, devastated for you,,keep going though. Luv and respect to you dude.
I'm gonna guess the failures will continue
Castle Cremations 2.0. !
I dont care what anyone says Kev is 1000% legit everything is straight up. he is the real deal baby!
I love how he decides to not set down the camera for us but then misses picking up the pliers
*side cutters
Kev we know you're genuine lad and you wouldn't stage it
love your honesty!! i totally believe you 100% =) i've had a lipo fire before and all the things that happen make sense!
"Staged"? Nuts on them...
It lit up in your shop, IN YOUR HAND...
Anyone thinking you staged it is nuts.
Great video Kevin! And I'm laughing at your Hobbywing beep synchronization yo the theme music. 🤣
I was about to buy this for my limitless untill I saw this video.
you saved my car and my money kev, Thanks
"It's a hobbywing, we're fine!" funniest last words ever. :D
