Whirlpool WHES40 Water softeners are total junk, their tech support is worthless as well. Mine was only 4 years old and began leaking between the control valve head and resin tank. I purchased the recommended O ring kit but the unit was still seeping water between the 2 parts. Tech support told me they had changed the design on the current unit but no longer sold the O rings for my unit and recommended I purchase a new unit. They kept trying to tell me they only last 5 years anyway. I tried a few plumbing stores trying to match the original O rings but could not and nothing I did would stop the slow leak. Needless to say into the trash it went and I purchased a new Aquasure Harmony 48K unit. Their tech support was super and spent some time helping me get the unit properly programmed for my application. What a difference, the water is softer and my GPG treated is now under 1 and un-measureable. Made a big mistake originally purchasing the Whirlpool but at least I did not make the same mistake twice.
Whirlpool softener lasted me 1 year. I tried to troubleshoot and all the solutions whirlpool gave me did not work. I decided to just throw it all away.
This is the most useless uninfornative and misinformation filled videos ive found on the subject Im just guessing but i think ai basicaly looked at diy big box storeodels for sale and picked random manifacturer claims from the ads Ive got one of them on hwre and the info it says isnt even correct for that one.
What is SER and size of resin on those softeners?
are any of these n.s.f. 44 rated? thats the big question

Not a review, by any means. You're simply presenting the manufacturer's marketing information of five popular units.
Puronics is the best system
Why is it not listed?
