I went to the top of the Fernsehturm in 1978 before the wall came down. The same tower but I am sure much has changed around it. Good memories getting through Checkpoint Charlie when it was a real 'Checkpoint. Never can do that again. Another thing the Berlin U bahn did not stop at the stations in East Berlin. The canals in East Berlin did 'not half' stink as well. I am sure they have been cleaned up as well with better investment.

I have forgotten the German Language. Though this vlog makes me wanna visit Berlin for a weekend maybe. I lived in Pankow many many many years ago. Is Panko safe to go or is it a no go area now ? it was nice p;ace to live in the 1980s. However, shame on the graffiti on the walls. Shame indeed.
Berlin overall is a very safe city, Pankow included. Doesn't mean crime doesn't happen, but it's much better than most cities. Neukölln can be sketchy at times, but overall if you're smart there's nothing to worry about.

Der Berliner Fernsehturm war 2016 auch schon gute 47 Jahre im Betrieb. Also was ist schon 2016 ein solcher Neubau für ein Fortschritt?
