The problem is that you are obliged to be in contact with EKO , you can't buy the diagnostic software once , you have to have a subscription. Second there is no ability to turn the sound to a simple mp3 . Beyond these two things, I believe that it is amazing !!! 👏 . Thank you for the video.

Nowhere did they publish youd have to buy s subscription. Thank you for telling me! I almost bought the duo today. I'll get the regular littman version they sell. At least then i can choose when i need the subscription and still have a stethoscope that works.

Update: i contacted them. They say there's no subscription needed and that isnt likely to change in the (at least near) future. The obly subscription service they have is for Telehealth. Because I didnt set up an appointment for a demo i do not know what their Telehealth subscription plan is actually for.

Subscription? What subscription? I highly encourage whoever is going to write a comment to do some research first. There is no subscription needed with either one of them. I have both of them and I just love them!!

Littman is the best but after intense research the digital stethoscope last only 2 years. That's why they don't offer extended warranty. If your a cardiologist than you need a new one pretty much every year anyways. Plus the app subscription is turn off for us and constantly recharging the digital part.

Will this stethoscope amplify the sound and even hear the pleth? I’m a medic and have been wanting a stethoscope that I can hear while we have lights and sirens on

I cannot speak to the Core 500.
But I am an EMT of 7 years, I bought the original EKO cause my hearing has suffered from the sirens.
It's been a game changer. I can hear clear lung sounds, BP, or even murmurs even with sirens and yelling family members.
I can only imagine the new one is even better.

Duo has poor ergonomics. The flat shape makes it difficult to avoid touching the patient's skin constantly. The long rectangle shape makes it placement awkward on the patient because most humans do not have flat chests.
