Turns out the town is what makes Cartman a toxic jerk.
That and his environment, including his friends
That is true. His mother was also the problem
Maybe, I would have liked to see what happened to him after he left though.
@@AH-is5yg the biggest enabler, BY FAR
@@soluna2252 that is true. She and everyone in South Park ruined Eric Cartman.
“You better put some water on the dashboard to shut her up” that shit had me dying laughing at work.😂
Lmaooo have a good shift fam
This version of Cartman didn’t deserve such an end
I totally Agree
at the same time though fuck him. He only became a better person because the entire world became shitty. Like christ theres no helping him
man this special made me see cartman in a new light
Cartman is usually an asshole but one of a few times he does something right the story punishes him more than it punishes him when he’s doing his usual thing
@@notayoutubechannel. he left South Park and Kyle and became a normal person) He returned to SP and to Kyle and old Cartman almost reborn)
Lowkey really sad for cartman, no one will know the sacrifice cartman made
24:40 Its a rough translation but Cartman said: "Family isn't (just) an important thing, its everything"
When I first read this comment, I thought it said Family Guy. 🤣
The Asian Geisha that keeps showing up is a straight up Blade Runner reference. They literally just used the exact clip from that movie.
Golly gee that’s a fun fact isn’t it
I believe what she saying boils down to “it’s evening” ?. Kinda like how a clock would ring when it hits the hour
@@tjcoley1310"iri hi katamuku," literally "the setting sun is sinking down."
@@Telepuzique yeah like wet water getting moist, makes sense... dad! Japan weird again!
@@Aiveq it's not that. you're reading it way too straightforwardly if that's even a thing. the Japanese are very poetic. that line is deeper than it seems.
Cartman’s ultimate fate was depressing.
Eh, he got what he deserved. He can only be happy when somebody else is miserable. Isn't one man's suffering worth the rest of the world being happy?
Eh, it's an alternative ending where they changed the past, no big deal
@FERKILL377 On the Dikinbaus episode we saw why Butters and Eric ended up with their futures. Butters worked really hard while Eric kept complaining about the toxic work environment.
@@johnwiesner9590 At least now he gets to work from home!
People often forget Cartman is just a kid. He has time and room to change if put in the right environment as seen from his future self. I don’t think he deserved to lose his family or to be miserable and homeless.
Yeah. _Just_ a kid. A kid with manipulative abilities. A kid with psychopathic tendencies. A kid who enacted a saw scenario just because a kid called him chubby. _Just_ a kid is right.
Just a kid who will happily lie, manipulate, and kill people to get what he wants? Being a kid doesn't really excuse the things he's done or the sick pleasure he gets from it.
I don't see how people blame anyone but cartman for how his life turned out. You have a responsibility to fix your own life and blaming everyone else instead of taking charge of his own future is what landed him there. That's Cartmans fault and nobody elses, he also did things that can never be forgiven in my opinion, no matter how young he was. Cartman is/was a serious danger to any society he's a part of. I'm happy he messed himself up so bad he's not a danger to anyone else anymore, 100% deserved in my opinion. I believe he has spent his right to a happy life multiple times over, even if he was "just a kid"
The Dikinbaus episode was a preview of Butters becoming manager of Denny's-Applebee's Max while Eric is homeless.
@@acidead97 not necessarily because the special makes it a note to tell us that Cartman was able to turn his life around when he left South Park but remaining in South Park is what ultimately causes him to become what he is in the end of it all
Eric had it all. And he threw it away to save Kyle..
Its so weird to actually feel sorry for Cartman for once. Despite how he attempted to sabotage the plan by going back in time, the man only did it because he knew that any change in the past would impact the future and likely resort to his family never existing. Even then he still saw of the error of his ways and chose to help set things right. Sadly no one will ever remember what Cartman did and now his future is determined as he he'll never have his family again and remain the spoiled, bad mouthing, lazy loser he was as a kid and never change ultimately becoming homeless and unloved in the future
The future in South Park isn’t set in stone we already seen 3 different versions of adult cartman.
Yeah ine if them is in the kyman comic au rabbi cartman and Ho eless cartman right@jaydbankz0266
Oh yeah I forgot about that, we did see cartman as an owner of a time traveling company in the future me episode who turned into a deadbeat mechanic
@@HypoRex yeah personally I do like kyman but I'm not obsessed with it like some people so I decided to say that
@@jaydbankz0266Eric not doing any work and complaining about the toxic work environment at the ice cream shop is why he becomes homeless.
In a single interaction, Eric tore down 16 years worth of mental walls built up by Butters. He made that poor soul remember that he had feared him, why he feared him, and why he should fear him once more. He forced butters out of Victor Chaos and put him under his thumb
He always could
Cartman gave up his happiness for the good of the world and nobody in the new timeline will even ever know his sacrifice.
Honestly I feel horrible for cartman he really changed for the better in the dark future and it's sad he lost everything, and yes I know he deserves what came to him after all the horrible and evil stuff he did but I don't feel like future cartman deserved to lose his family, I felt that way when I first watched the special and I still feel that way
He don’t deserve it he’s done messed up things but so has Stan and Kyle also Wendy killed a teacher in the early seasons cuz she was jealous so everyone would deserve it as much as him
I cant be mad at a grown up for the mistakes they made as a little kid
I totally Agree
@@whyhellotherestranger Cartman killed his dad and feed him to his half brother
@@dawicked2k8 Wendy literally killed a teacher just because she was jealous Stan liked her and Kenny tried to kill his infant sibling because he had a bad dream about it
Cartman's trying to stop everything makes perfect sense he has every reason to think that if the past changes his family, wife, and kids wouldn't exist. What man wouldn't try and save his family.
So Cartman did change, but hanging out with his old “friends” turned him back in the old Cartman.
For the people saying Cartman didn't deserve this ending, he definitely did. Don't forget about his several attempts at genocide
3:55 The asian lady we keep seeing is a reference to the movie Blade Runner, where that same exact video is played in advertisements in the movie. I think it's just to signify it's the future for South Park.
Also the bubble wrap hats.
In a perfect world/universe as a canon ending that I began to imagine after seeing this special, the future improved for e everyone, including Cartman. They would all be visiting Kenny's house with family and friends, where both Cartman's and Kyle's kids being the best of friends during the visit. And Kyle and Cartman would greet each other as best friends, loving one another as stereotypical wholesome jewish men making jokes and just enjoying the fact that they're all together at the moment despite moving and living apart one another for so long.
That to me is a perfect ending as despite all the fucked up things that happened between them, they all grew, changed, matured into a genuine family bond.
the bubbles on everyone's heads are "chin diapers" it went over my head too
Wth. Really? Gonna have to go back and watch
I just assumed that it was because it was the future, lol.
5:41 Victor is Dr. Doom's first name. Prof. Chaos' costume is quite reminiscent of Dr. Doom.
You say you don't know where butters came up with the name Victor for Victor choas it's from Dr doom Victor von doom
Ohhh 🤯
@@DisfunktionalTVNow that I'm thinking about it; Professor (Doctor)+ Chaos (Doom) makes sense
I love some of the animatics that came around during these specials. There was one really heartbreaking one, where it depicts the fallout of Stan, Kyle, and Eric, and then Kenny all alone. Then it goes to Butters also being all alone, after he wasn’t able to go to Build-A-Bear. It’s the idea of showing two hurt souls at their lowest, and that in their hurting, Kenny tells Butters his plans to fix the pandemic 40 years in the making. Then the animatic shows Butters as he is in THIS special, too far gone to reason with, and Kenny obviously dead.
It’s one of those bittersweet animations that makes you think, “everything that could’ve gone wrong, went wrong”, and in that timeline, it failed poor Kenny & Butters (losing your friend circle, and not being able to go some placed you were promised you’d go to, right before lockdown). To these kids-and to most people really-those unkept securities as the lockdown began were their breaking points. Even for poor Butters, it was the perfect storm to turn him from the kindest kid in South Park, to a NFT lunatic. And even if everything turns out better by the end of THIS special, you can’t help but feel sad about the Butters & Kenny in the other timeline, something I believe that animatic did a good job of portraying.
the south park creators really wanted us to pity Cartman with this ending 😂
Or laugh at his suffering when everyone else gets a happy ending.
And they did
It worked. I feel bad for him. He finally changed for the better in the future, and eventually sacrificed his happiness in the dark future so everyone else would be happy
31:51 it IS his beanie, his head just got fatter.
Yea bro you were exactly right about Cartman; the future had to suck so hard that Cartman was the only one who truly came out on top! It's hard to fully understand how tragic it would be to have the perfect life you ever could've asked for and have turned your life around completely, only to have it completely erased from time and instead wind up a homeless person with no hope or happiness, which is why I literally cried when I saw how Cartman ended up on first watch. However remembering all of the horrible things he's done and the way he's acted throughout the entire show, it also becomes hard to think why he would've deserved that successful life in the first place! That's part of the beauty of this absolute epic South Park special, which is pure S+ grade material and always will be!! Next up is the Streaming Wars 2 parter, where Cartman undergoes a different type of 'transformation' 🤣
nah, Cartman at least honest. Kyle on other hand has to be morally right at any cost and we seen it make problems multiple times
Giving Token/Tolkein Shaft-esque music when he was whoopin' they ass🤣 Chefs kiss.
I said it in the previous video, but the Japanese woman is a reference to billboards in Blade Runner.
Foundation Against Time Travel....FATT. They're still trolling cartman 😂
It's AMAZING
My mom had her stroke at the start of COVID, and we couldn't go visit her. She was in the hospital for 2 weeks, we could only talk to her on the phone.
Oh man sorry to hear, hope mom dukes is ok now
@@DisfunktionalTV, luckily it was just a mild stroke. No permanent issues.
Cartman did deserve that fate but not in This situation. He was selfless for once in his life and look where that got him.
He's been selfless several times. Saved Kyle from San Francisco. Saved the town from the Hippies. Saved the town from the homeless by Singing And remixing "California Love"

I loved Butters and Cartman’s future versions the most- Vic Chaos and Rabbi Cartman 🙌
While I never seen “Tiger King” just heard of it, I think the guy’s name is: “Joe Exotic?”
Ironically, this isnt the first time we see Cartman having a good life in the future, only for him to suddenly get a bad ending. Remember the My Future Self and Me episode?
The best recent South Park episodes, these were something
If anything the real question is what happens to Cartman's mother during the pandemic when the guys split up? What change drastically for her enough for her to raise him from the 4th grade forward?
damn. the writing on this two-parter is impeccable.
The head wraps are "Chin diapers." Its a play on how people used to wear face masks lowered, on their chins, where it didnt really do anything since their mouth is exposed, hence the name "chin diapers".
People talking about how Cartman didn’t deserve that ending, you’re right. He deserved worse. Kid’s fucking evil. Multiple attempts at genocide, several murders, a litany of Geneva convention violations and so much more. People just feel bad because of what could’ve been. With that being said, he’s still my favorite character.
you know, when sci-fi makes judgement on people that might maybe make something bad in future... i give it a side eye. condemning someone who might do good in future is next level. no reformation, absolute punishment
That’s Kevin Stoley the one who talking 13:41 😂
I loved Cartman's "you've been doing this your whole goddamn life."
Poor Kevin 😂😂
Eric Cartman is Foundation Against Time-travel (F.A.T.) lol This episode is a total reference to: Bill & Ted Face the music. great movie!
The Dikinbaus episode was a prelude to the futures that Eric and Butters both end up with, with Butters becoming manager of Denny's-Applebee's Max while Eric is homeless.
Cartman was just trying to protect his family :(
18:54 ok, but Eric’s light-saber umbrella is kinda cool tho! A light source, that also function as an umbrella is really handy!
The Anne Frank joke from Cartman and his family kill me 😂😂
NGL that ending brought me to tears. Seeing how everyone's life was better and seeing Stan with his mom and sister really got me, and of course Cartman.
DTV Greatest RUclipsr in existence. Let’s share the f outta this and get him way more subs.
@12:14 Under strict superveillance! Loving the mix of supervision and surveillance 😆
Whats messed up even more for Cartman is that it REALLY DOES seem like it's the people in South Park that make him n fn mess, it's been hinted before that he's how he is cuz how he gets treated by everyone else, and this is pretty much proves it, Cuz in the timeline where he does move, we see he CAN BE a good person as even his wife says she has NEVER seen him act or get like how he did up until he came back to South Park 🤷 he did all that crazy shit to save his family BUT came to his senses n took the biggest selfless move, showing he REALLY DID change 🤷
Cartman was a born an a-hole.
Whenever Cartman does something crazy, he gets his way, but whenever he does something nice, he gets screwed over. I really explains why he always is the way he is.
Not my boy Cartman😩😩
When u realize Cartman has been cursed since Day 1 (The Pilot) getting abducted and anal probed // under alien control.
Moral of the story : To save the world and you save yourself; smoke together and enjoy the new beautiful days with a smile on your face ! :)
butters being a scp of crypto is insanly genius. I love what they did with butters in this special
24:34
He said - family is not an important thing, it is everything.
I've never heard that saying.
I told you that was a trip my guy, I enjoy this reaction. To be honest I get teary eyes towards the end. It's truly a heartfelt moment for the entire series. It's sad that Cartman doesn't get his happy life back.
It’s so stupid that, 4 years after the pandemic, saying “COVID” is still too much for RUclips’s sensors
22:56 ripping ball off with his bare hands is a threat he did to Kyle in « Meet the Jeffersons »
This episode is an actual masterpiece. I didn’t realize how good these specials were until the rewatch . It’s Masterfully done 👌🏾🔥🔥
Always wild how cartman gets sh*t done no matter what lol they did him so dirty in the end
High key the reason why many feel bad about cartman’s fate, is that we know what he could’ve had and who he could’ve been.
Cartman fate at the end was confidential. on the one hand, this is what he deserved for being Cartman as a kid, one the other. He actually redeemed himself and sacrificed everything to stop covid
Butters being locked up is the same as an adult being grounded
5:36 if that turns out to be true you put that together instantly lol
RANDY IS SAVAGE😂😂😂😂😂
Randy Savage lol
The Asian lady billboard ad is a reference to Blade Runner. You can see the very same ad in the movie playing along the futuristic highrises and scenic shots. The bubble wrap is Matt and Trey making commentary on how people wore their masks during the pandemic, as is their constant referencing to them as "chin diapers" as opposed to masks. Basically insulting all the people who were too dumb to understand the point of a mask with how they wore them.
I actually feel bad for Eric at the end of the episode.
I got so excited when I saw you uploaded the follow up special from the last post covid special. This special series was definitely one that I think deserves all the love. What a brilliant idea and it made me feel even more attached to the characters!
The Hebrew part means family is an important thing
The last khhhh is nothing 😂
I thought they were bubble wrap, too, but I think they're knitted hoods / hats. I think it's supposed to be future fashion
Cartman may have deserved his fate in the past, but he didn't deserve to lose his chance to change and redeem himself.
All Wendy had to do was stop pressing down on the radio speaker...had she done that the guy would not have heard Clyde saying he wasn't vaccinated. But she held it down.
You dont need to go to dennys. Extremely overpriced for bad food. i placed an order last week for pickup at 4:20 am and the food wasnt ready until 4:50
I almost cried first time I saw the Timmy part haha
They’re wearing the bubble wrap on their heads because, you know, it’s the “future” 😂
That ending was rough for Cartman being Homeless I bet Kyle and Stan must be delighted.
If they were to tell the past Cartman about his future wife and family maybe this would've saved his future and his wife and family
bro i actually felt bad for cartman🥲
The Chinese lady is a reference to the movie Blade Runner.
39:59 - 40:14
I can see The Gang from It's Always Sunny wounding up in the same situation as Cartman in their series finale.
Damn you really blessed us at 1am🔥
I swear, I have cried like, four times over Cartman becoming homeless 😢
Tbh Cartman has potential so how he ends up poor is because he chose to do so because he can literally do anything and get away with it.
Cartman said in Hebrew... broken Hebrew... Family isn't just important, it's everything.
40:43 Christmas carol reference
The acronym for foundation against time travel is fatt 😂😂
Cartmans daughter is writing diary there😂😂😂
Clyde being the expert who convinced himself that the vaccine is dangerous is such a good bit.
I'm not sure Dtv caught that. He didn't comment about it. Maybe he did on the full recording for his patrons, though.
the only time i low key felt bad for Cartman
I'll never feel sorry for Eric Cartman even if he loses everything.
You like it or not, Kyle is the most hypocritical person in the series, whenever Cartman is happy or has something Kyle doesn’t, Kyle tries to find a way to ruin that for him, now he ruined his whole life bc he didn’t have a family, even tho he was doing pretty good and still had his parents and brother
I think the implication is that Timmy died of covid. Since he doesn't show up in the covid timeline at all but is there in the "fixed" timeline
Damn man justice for cartman
Peoples true colors started showing up during the start of Covid.
I actually wouldn't mind if they did some more episodes with them as adults. It's still hilarious 🤣
They are wearing pillows over their heads. it was a real product that came out at the time. SP is just taking the piss out of a stupid product and the stupid people that actually bought and wore it.
They wear the bubble wrap on their heads because it's the future.
Kyle don't have yelling at him after all this years and the song of the hebrew is great he's have to get mad and knock in table because they kisses
Cartman saved everybody and south Park makes him Bad
Im glad this reaction came out quick. I was worried it would get pushed back
Also I think that's the perfect ending for Cartman. Yall know if it was reversed Cartman wouldn't care. I just think of bbn how many times Cartman screwed over everyone and he deserved a good come upping. I hope that's spelled right😂
It’s funny that Stan and Kyle sound like their dads but Stan looks like Trey Parker and Kyle Matt stone
Isnt outright said but the theory goes that in the newer timeline, Kyle marries Yentl instead of Cartman and thats why kyles kids have her hair colour
