@ 1:52: "These purines are going to have the sugar and phosphate groups removed from them to give you adenosine and guanine." Minor correction: adenosine and guanosine are nucleosides and contain the nitrogenous base (adenine or guanine) plus ribose. Adding one phosphate gives adenosine/guanosine monophosphate, adding two gives adenosine/guanosine diphosphate, and adding three phosphates gives adenosine/guanosine triphosphate, all of which are referred to as nucleotides. So at 1:52 we should have free adenine (not adenosine) and free guanine. In summary: A,G,C,U or T alone = base, A,G,C,U or T with sugar = nucleoside, A,G,C,U or T with sugar and any number of phosphates = nucleotide.
Sonya Bhatti The next month or so is going to be kind of hectic for me, because I am studying for the USMLE Step 2 exam. But after that I plan on making a bunch more videos. My 4th year schedule has a lot more flexibility than 3rd year did

But according to Lippincott's illustrated reviews Biochemistry: "Adenosine is the only purine nucleoside to be salvaged"...
again excellent easy to understand and you make it sound so interesting ! thanks

Very good video
Your videos are Awesome......i like how you summarize and give the big picture...thank you so much.
