I am a new bee keeper with only 1 hive. I love your videos! You see something in your hive / frames then walk it over to camera to show us! So informative. Thank you
Thank you
My only hive swarmed this morning. It was a new package installed on May first. Either I'm a great bee keeper for building them up to swarm in 2 months or I'm extremely ignorant of bee behavior, I tend to think the latter. Had 15 queen cells in there.
Maybe one of them will get mated and become a good queen
Just stumbled upon your channel randomly. Very relaxing to watch
Hope you stick around
What do you do if you have a laying drone? Wink Wink
Catch him and sell 😉
@@dfishman76 Call the papers!
You're out there working with bee's wearing shorts and a short sleeve T shirt....
The plus is you do not have alot of trees like within feet of all your hives. You said you was letting them swarm. Again watch for multi Queens as some swarms have been known to pull Queen and bee's from close by hives as they swarm and results is the multi Queens in swarms. Good luck and the idea of swarm for mite control i have to check that out. Take care
Need a smaller box and food and hatching brood to get some workers going
Why didnt you just move a frame with a queen cell from the top box to the bottom box and split
Suppose to be cool next few night and they did not have enough numbers to split it
That's supposed to pick up a nuc next week how can I tell if they giving me a good one
Just look for eggs, larva, pollen and honey stores. Make sure she has a good laying pattern also. Other than that I don’t really know by just looking.
@@dfishman76 I had bee about 10 years ago. I got them in a wire cage and put them into a hive they done real good I did not know about them swarming they did go to the tree I thought the bee box was too small so I built another box and put it on top then cut the the tree limb and put them back in no more frames just a box. Went through a divorce ex would not let me have my so I got my stuff straight getting another one now and by watching video a whole lot more to it than what I did but the bees don great
Why did you reverse order of supers?
Bees move up. They where mostly in the top box. So I reverse them so they can move up into the other one when they want to
R bees aggressive?
They can be
