Can someone explain Caim's highlander set up to me? I know he needed every weapon to be different but some times I see players ignore that rule. Is there a wiggle room to his passive?

If you use Caim frontline since he's a strong unit with his 4th skill unlocked, his passive no longer matters since it only activates in the backline. This means you're free to run the most optimal weapons possible since his passive requirement isn't a concern anymore.
If you meant some grids having 2 siegfried daggers, the pre-rebuilt and the mk2 have different weapon IDs and therefore still meet the condition for Caim's backline passive.
