  • Sanctuary of the Lady of the Crown (original - Santuario Madonna della Corona ) - is an actual sanctuary and mountain church and one of the unique places to visit in the Verona region, Italy.
The pilgrimage church lies below a vertical, partly overhanging rock face at 773 m above sea level, high above the Vallagarina through which the Etsch flows.
It is located not far from the Verona-Bolzano-Innsbruck (Italy-Austria) highway and is must to see if you travel from Munich or Salzburg to Italy.
It is also located just one hour's drive from Verona and near Garda Lake. If you travel to Verona or have a vacation on Garda Lake, Santuario Madonna della Corona is definitely a place to visit during your Italy trip.
Santuario Madonna della Corona can be reached from Spiazzi, a hamlet of the municipality of Caprino Veronese on the east side of Monte Baldo, in about 15-20 minutes on foot or by shuttle bus. On the side of the road you will find pilgrimage scenes about Jesus Christ path to Golgotha.
In addition, a hiking trail leads from Brentino in Vallagarina up to the pilgrimage site, where you have to overcome almost 600 meters in altitude.
It has an amazing view of the valley, a beautiful church build in the mountain, and a cave entrance/exit from the Santuario Madonna della Corona. Santuario is an actual sanctuary - you could make a real pilgrimage here, there are a lot of confessionals there you could have a service in different languages.
As an active sanctuary here also important to avoid loud noises and drones are prohibited.
Santuario Madonna della Corona has good touristic services like cafe-restaurant, toilets, souvenir shops.

This is perfect for me as I haven't been able to travel since the 1980s due to ill health. I used to visit this area a few times and stay for weeks at a time but, even though I had an Italian friend to guide me, I never knew of this place. Thank you. A lovely video to watch as it concentrates on the area and not on selfies of the people who usually post travel videos.

Thanks a lot. This is exact our goal - just to show some beautiful places, but not selfies. Subscribe to our channel to see our new videos from different places.

Very beautiful video of a place I wish to visit this next year with my brother. Please identify the choral music in the middle section (6:19) of this video. I would like to find it in CD form.
