It's certainly one of the best. The Stones were really at the peak of the their creative powers. They could do no wrong in those days. Let It Bleed runs a close second, IMO.
@@diesekaltewelt807 LET IT BLEED (originally intended to be entitled STICKY FINGERS), GET YER YA-YA's OUT, STICKY FINGERS, EXILE ON MAIN STREET - the zenith of The Stones' career, IMHO. They've always been great (unlike America), but The Stones' career has surfed several eras. Thank you.
For all you “guitar-heads” out there...don’t forget the original tune also features a really sweet background of Nicky Hopkins piano and Paul Buckmaster strings...all giving it a slightly spacey / wavy almost Grateful Dead-ish roll-along vibe, without losing any of its bluesy edginess. Classic Stones production genius with superb attention to detail. Best appreciated on vinyl with the volume turned up.
Hard to keep a shoulder roll, chicken wing or the old geetar push pull out of a Stones tune.Love it, always enjoy your playing....add the Stones.......excellent...thank you
First, thank you. Great lesson. Back in those days, guitar players did'nt share what and how they made their songs with the public. I never even heard of open G until I read an article about Keef and slide guitar. No wonder I could never get those songs just right. You have great tasze in music.
Big thank you for putting up with all the nonsense (trolls etc) to keep the music alive. I used to play in a band when a yute, played by ear but not with a keen enough ear. You and a few other RUclips teachers brought me back to the music. Played a reunion gig this summer and killed it, thank you! Re: Sway and Brown Sugar - two of the most powerful Open G riffs, both inspired by Keef but written by Mick J if I'm remembering right.
Great video. You slowly explain everything in the beginning so it is impossible not to learn the song. Thank you. The slow and detailed breakdown was wonderful. Great great job. I love your work.
Love the work you do on the Stones material. Spot on! Alton one of Mick Taylor's shining moments on lead. I've been trying to emulate your tone on the rhythm. Need help on your delay/reverb settings. Any overdrive boost?
It's tough to compare them, I don't really consider them in the same category. I see the Beatles as a pop band, the Stones as a rock band. Still, I'd go with the Beatles. The Stones can't touch the Beatles' melodies and harmonies. And the Beatles have the advantage of a much, much shorter career -- which means they didn't stick around long enough to run out of ideas.
I have been watching your cool videos for a while .I'm getting the pink paisley telecaster Japan guitar very soon .I have money down on it.It has a 7.25 radius in the fret board.Do your guitars have the same radius ?And do they play good, do you have problems with soloing?I always play Led Paul guitars and you know how flat the fret board on those are ,i am a big Jimmy Page fan it's as if he was my guitar teacher for 30 years.I know his style but I love the Yardbirds sound and his Tele. In much of the studio work he did in Zeppelin also.

I do compose tunes as well and most of them in english, I lived in Preston 3 years working as cheff and I lived in Dublin and London sometimeas well. I' ll write you back again. All the best James.
A classic track. Mick Taylor's blistering solos really take this song to the next level.
It’s a great riff to solo over.
Nothing agnst Ronnie but damn, Mick Taylor just killed it on every RS song. His work was and remains epic.
though this isnt his part of the song
I like the taylors melody but ron on the stage is another thing, he has a great feeling while playing
Best albums and best solos. Mick years are my favorite.
I hope that was meant as a joke... @@santiagomainguezquijano6875
The energy of this song is simply unbelievable. Must have been live for sure. What a track!!
Absolutely love Sticky Fingers and in my opinion the best Stones album above all just above Get Yer Ya Ya's Out!
Tambo74 great choices

My favourite has always been Let it Bleed my second favourite album is definately Sticky Fingers
Thank you for the recent lot of Open G tunes. My old Tele is kept in Open G specifically for when the need to Keef or Rich Robinson strikes me.
Love your LESSONS MR JAMES! YOU HAVE TAUGHT THIS SENIOR PLENTY, THANKS!

Respect....you really nailed this one - thanks!!!!!!
I appreciate any and all Open G lessons. It being the only way I can even halfway play. Thanks
Excellent! One of my favorite Stones tunes, Thanks man!!
Still haven’t figured out if it’s heavy or a ballad, I don’t care what it is I love it.
Melody and harmony are always so intricated, Stones rule.
You rock Jimmy James & the Blue Flames! Thanks!
One of my top 3 Stones’s song.
I love this tune. Great job!
You are THE man! Love your work.
great song, great sound and great player. Nice.
Great job. My favourite Stones track.

I read Keith saying Mick Jagger is a great open G player.
Great video. You slowly explain everything in the beginning so it is impossible not to learn the song. Thank you. The slow and detailed breakdown was wonderful. Great great job. I love your work.
I love SWAY LOVE WITH MY ALL
Love your work. Thanks for posting. Nice.
Thank you so much, awesome playing!!!
yesss i fucking love this song!!!!
so beautiful guitar
Thank you very nice
Thanks James! This a great lesson in open g.
Great. it sounds like the basic track was recorded live, as Jagger counts them in, and later Mick Taylor added overdubs, not sure
I thought is was Keith the whole time. My God Jagger really absorbed his style.
Keef does backing vocals
Fantastic!!
Great man! i know you enjoy it!

Yes, a little boost with the modeler set on Twin. But it's also the Schecter pickups, they run hot.
Thank you! Super helpful!
As long time ago, Hellow mate, Still I do think we should met !!!
Hey @James James, if you had to choose:
Beatles or Stones?
Thanks

Flaming Groovies
Absolutely The Stones...
I love early Stones, but there’s no doubt that Mick T was a huge step up from Brian Jones on the fretboard.
Great. Are there any Stones open g songs where the solo is also played in open g?
Hope this isn't inappropriate but... Nice Schecter!🤘
Cool!

I read that Mick Taylor was upset about not getting songwriting credits for this one...
This one and several others.
Jagger/Richards had a habit of doing that... same thing happened with Brian too, a la "Ruby Tuesday". Cheers man, always dig the tunes and pointers.
They still do it with Ronnie, too. I think he's had a handful of credits, but not many.
Yes and Moonlight Mile and Time Waits For No One.
Song about the sadness, Brian , Marianne??
You are correct, sir. No Keith. Funny thing is, I always picture Keith playing it when I hear it.
Is that even legal?
Which? No Keith, or picturing Keith?
No, picturing Keith is your God-given right. But an open G Stones song with no Keith- crazy (yet it's a great song).
You ' d like Spain( looks like not this year...).
I've been to Spain a few times, it's beautiful.

Don't think the solo is in open G.
He, they don t do the two finger fall on the open G chord...move the sixth string my boy you got a lot of guitars....
They don't, but I do.
