Ohhh thank you , I had a lot of problems with this Bb a d everytime I had a song with this chord , I avoided... but now , you gave us a lot of options, to do it .... mine is like the one you do like G , only start on the first fret.... thanks so much 🎊🎊
Thank you so much!!! I've been playing for years and always cringe at the pesky Bb chord. I'm passing your video along to my two uke groups that I play with!

I appreciate this! The second version helped me a ton! I just add the pinky and then i finally get that full Bb and its easy to transition into and out of! Thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you so much for this vid, Pierre! I have passed up songs I wanted to play because of the dratted Bm and Bb chords. With your helpful tips I can go back and learn the songs I want to learn. I appreciate these tips and I don't see them as "cheats" at all...this is most helpful. Thank you! I will look up your books and course. :-) PS...hate to see the trolls trying to commandeer your comment section...hope you can delete them!
On the one that starts at 1:43, it seems only natural to complete the chord by fretting the 4th string, 3rd fret (or 4th fret for B) with the 4th finger. You do have to rotate your hand so the outside edge of your palm touches the neck, but at least for me, it's more reliable than trying to make the barre work.
Wow thanks this is great !! Learning all these easier ways to do difficult chords tonight. Now I just need to practice up. I took screen shots of all of them from your videos (E, D, B flat, etc) :)
Lol. Aw wow! Thank you so much!! Hey stay tuned I have a new book coming our next week!! Will be half price at first. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Glad these help!!
@@mrsjazzcat1 wow thanks meg. My second one will go way more in depth w melodies and reading. Let me know if you have any questions!! Really appreciate the support.
Thanks again so much for these variations! Barring the 1st 2 strings and manipulating my 4rd and 4th finger to the strings, physically cannot be done because of joint stiffness/pain. Cool stuff! I bought your Ukelele book on Amazon.ca. I am a bit more advanced than a beginner but figured it would be worth it to try it out. Take care.
Wow thanks mark!! So glad you're finding these helpful. Will be filming a couple more similar videos this week on the D and E7 chord. :) And thanks for grabbing the book! Ya you might find the first half a little easy, but there are some pop songs and strumming patterns that could be fun for you to work on. Thanks for the support and keep on strumming!! let me know if you have any questions.
Awesome! yes, thanks for the tips! The Gm will often work, and just the little barre or the 6/9, can sound more jazzy and fits nicely in certain songs.
Great question! I have a few videos on the topic... maybe this one is a good place to start? Let me know if it helps! ruclips.net/video/g8aSvqDQxvY/видео.html
Hi Teresa! Thanks for your comment. Ya, it's one of the first more challenging chords. There isn't really an easier full sounding version, but I did make this video with some tips, hope it helps!! ruclips.net/video/Gwz5n2i7hwM/видео.html
Hi Kadi! Thanks for your comment, and great question! I think I will make a video on Ab, as there are a few cool ways to play it. But to help you quickly - the EASIEST way would be like a G chord, but one fret higher, strumming the bottom three strings only (top string not in the chord). so from top string down, the frets would be X 3 4 3. Hope that was clear enough! :)
Sorry wasn't helpful at all and I refuse to learn a Bflat ...l just won't play any song with it in it I guess, thinking about quitting anyway after 2 weeks . Cuz I'll never be able to play that chord
I hear you Clara - It's a tough one! But with regular practice you'll get there. totally fine to avoid it for now. Keep in mind it takes MONTHS to get basic proficiency on ANY instrument, so hang in there, play a little every day and you'll be suprised what you can do in 3 to 6 months. A good teacher also makes all the difference. You want to work on fun things that you enjoy and are at your level. A song like this (no Bflat I promiss!) might be a good place to start: ruclips.net/video/icM2EnqGTE0/видео.html Or, if it's not for you, that's ok too! Anyway thanks for watching and good luck.

Loved this such great help
D7 is one I struggle with !!
Thanks Tara!! An easier version of D7 is simply 2020, from top to bottom. much easier than the barred 2223.
Awesome! Thank you so much for this!
Thanks Jessenia! So glad it helped!!
Very good teacher

Great tips on probably the most challenging ukulele chord. Thanks
Thank you so much i had a hard time bending my finger
Thanks I just 👍 and subbed
Awesome! 😊 thanks monk!! Hope you find value in some of my other videos and play alongs!
I'm gonna watch them all 👍😁
Bb6/9 (no 3) might sometimes also work depending on the harmony (0011), i.e. just the little bar. Or substitute with Gm (0231).
Awesome! yes, thanks for the tips! The Gm will often work, and just the little barre or the 6/9, can sound more jazzy and fits nicely in certain songs.
I'm probably the only one who prefers the second way over the third
