You know, what's really impressive to me, aside from the fact that they play and dance at the same time, is how they play almost CONTINUOUSLY! And, they play (and sing) different songs! I was in my school's marching band in Hawaii back in the day. We played ONE song, and we played it every 5-8 minutes like most American bands. It's just amazing that they have such a large repertoire of songs! Also, girls NEVER played the tuba/sousaphone, and we never used baritone saxophones. They were deemed TOO HEAVY for girls. (PS - It's kind of sad how the Japanese audience only gives them polite and little applause. At the Rose Parade on January 1, they will be marching to ROARING CHEERS! I recall some of the girls in 2018 being interviewed, and they said they cried tears of joy because of the loud cheers, but they continued to play!)
There are a lot of documentaries about their previous years (and the more to come about the current one), but all in all, they are going through absolutely unimaginable training routines. 7am-7pm EVERY DAY (12 hours in study, back in my school days we barely tolerated 6 hours of school and 1-2 hours of extra club activities), and those are not just sit and write, they are doing a lot of physical activities, from music basics to repertoire organizing and from basic choreograophy to advanced marching synchro movements. Each aspect has to be ideal, I've watched 2014 and 2015 years documentary recently, the things they are doing to master everything are truely impressive. Well, that shows on their results, iirc they won japanese national marching contest for 4 years consecutively now, and I believe they will be aiming for 5th time next year. ) I'll not be able to watch them on Rose Parade live, but I'll be sure to throughoutly enjoy any stream/records if it will be available for watch. They are preparing some surprises for that event, one of those will be interesting merch, what's else - we will see! ))
@@spang9782 It was with out doubt an incredible performance by the kids and all the adulation they received was totally understandable. The played, danced and sung their hearts out for 5 and half miles. And you’re right, the repertoire of songs was so impressive, with a dance routine for each. Especially the Disney section, so beautiful and you hear the crowd’s joining in. They stole the show on that day. In fact the whole tour was a blast and something to remember in the future. Good luck for 2025 and blow the crowds away again. The future is bright the future is Orange 🍊
Looked like 3-3-5 near the end. Only colour Guard spin? (formation too tight) oops lol. I love the spirit of fun that they embrace. Smile keep going. Nothing is truly perfect and that is the perfection I love so much.
Thank you for this video, you captured them so beautifully
The future is bright the future is Orange 🍊
