- Chow is a refreshing, peppery & herbaceous fruit salad. It's a popular item at carnival fetes because alcohol and pepper go great together. After wining to the sweet sounds of soca, a refreshing snack always hits the spot!
Ingredients
🍍 1 ripe pineapple
🌿 6-8 bandhani/culantro/chadon beni leaves (use cilantro as a substitute)
🧄 8-10 cloves of garlic, minced
🌶 Hot pepper/s (your preference)
🍋 The juice of a small lime (1 tbsp)
🧂 Salt & black pepper - Хобби
You took me back to granny kitchen. When I was growing up, my grandmother used to cut the pineapple in 4 to remove the center. I have eaten cucumber, mango, guava, pommecythere and pineapple chow; and I’m sure there are so many more I don’t remember. Yes, please share the recipe for the refresher.
Chow looks absolutely delicious and mouth watering. Thank you for sharing
Do a video for granny pineapple refresher please
Yes please.
No I have never put salt on the outside but I now know why my mouth was itchy all the time. I actually thought I got allergic to pineapples so thank you for sharing the video. I love it especially with the salted prunes., my favorites put together.

hi reshmi this chow looks so delicious👍👍👍👍💜💙❤️💚
Well that took me back to sitting under my grandmother's mango tree in Chaguanas. Although you can get a sweet juicy pineapple here in Northern Pennsylvania, the outside would never look as good.
Yummy!!!
Yummy❤
Love it Trini to de bone 🦴
We use the pineapple skin to make a beverage called Arroz con Piña (Rice and Pineapple). Very tasty and refreshing at anytime.
Greetings from Panama!! I really have a special place in my heart for Trinbago!! A special country with great people! Hope I can land there again soon!!
Sounds so refreshing! Aww, I hope to visit Panama also 🙏🏽
Hello Reshmi i add a pinch of brown sugar. Now we can get that orange powder (on the salt prunes) to buy its actually a type of Chinese seasoning.
Love you dear ❣️
My favourite chow..any ripe fruit will do though😁
This sounds absolutely amazing! I’ve never tried anything like this

I have heard that salt prune in alcohol prevents you from getting high quickly. I'm anxious to get the recipe for the pineapple refreshing drink
Hi Reshmi - could you please do a video on the pineapple skin drink, the next time you cut one? thanks :)
Hi good to see you, you don't come on for a long time, please share your Granny's pineapple drink thanks.
Hi Trini! Thanks for sharing this recipe with us. Please, tell me the name of that ingredient that you added at the end of the recipe, after the lime. I am hard of hearing and I think that it sounded like "salt mango"?. You added this as 2 red strips at about the 6:15 mark of the youtube . It does not appear in your ingredient list. Also, please, what do you do with all those chunks of luscious pineapple that you remove during the preparation? (BTW, the 20 seconds of you massaging the salt into that mango was certainly erotic enough to get this youtube banned in several States of the USA! Texas, for sure! LOL!) Happy cooking!
I believe it’s preserved salt prunes and salt mangoes from Trinidad….
Please send the video for the pineapple drink.
Looks delicious but u missing the salt prunes
Be nice to see the recipe in the comments
😋😋😋😋😞
