- Gotchard is far from my favorite rider series, which meant I wasn't exactly eager to dive into its bonus content. However I was a fan of the Future Daybreak Gotchard story, which got my interested in checking out this movie and seeing if it was worth the watch.

This was certainly a Kamen Rider summer movie alright. Not particularly bad, but nothing to rock my world either. I mean, the Daybreak arc was one of the highlights of Gotchard, it's nice to see more of it. Although again, this shares the same problem that I had with the Winter crossover movie with Geats; using a movie to cap off a story arc.(Maybe it's different given if you actually lived in Japan, and you're able to catch it in theaters while it was fresh, as opposed to overseas where we have to wait until the movie goes to Blu-Ray for it to be subbed.) As for Kaguya's role; as much as I stan my beloved Golden Drip Lord, he felt very tacked on, and only really there to promote the new special edition Legend Rider cards. As for Tsukasa's cameo, it was cool to see Masahiro Inoue make one last appearance as Tsukasa, and it was a nice scene. But I agree, you can remove Legend from the movie, and nothing of consiquence would of been lost.(Also, it was nice to see Jyutaro Yamanaka as Zukyunpire again I guess.)
The plot was great, again Future Hotaro was so chadded and his story was truely tragic. Future Geryon was just great. Kenta Kamakari did a great job playing this twisted sadistic villain who seems to derive pleasure from tearing apart Hotaro's world piece by piece. Honestly this is how I imagined Geryon should of been instead of discount Goldmember. Even Rikuto Kumaki, Yasunari Fujibayashi, and Alisa Sakamaki do a great job at playing these evil clones of Minato, Spanner, and Lachesis. The final battle was cool, Miracle and Shining Gotchards were neat, and seeing the fight against the Dark King, again makes me wish that Gigist was the final boss instead of Geryon.(I can totally see this working as the footage for the final battle of a theoretical Gotchard Adaptation.) Although, I don't know how to feel about the ending, basically treating the backstory of the original Alchemist of the Dawn as a glorified bootstrap paradox. Overall, it's a meh movie.(Stay whelmed.)
gotchard was such a clusterfuck that the movie being decent is like the best thing you have for him.
I enjoyed this movie as well but I won’t lie, the only reason I watched it was because of Daybreak Gotchard. Loved seeing Decade and Legend meet though, would like it if they got something together and Legend does become the definitive successor of Decade (as I think Zi-O’s actor is in a similar vein of Drive’s actor in that he’s so famous that getting him back is hard to do.)
Heck, it’d be awesome if they do make a Legend show which does go over his story just before he went on to then help Gotchard. Could be a cool thing to do.
I thought Daybreak form was alternate fire power up too. It seemed like they were implying that the whole time. Sun recoloring his suit feels more like a retcon.
I enjoy the movie, with my only problem, again the same with the series itself, the pacing. It's kinda rushed, mainly for Valvarad, Legend and the other, but still enjoyable. The backstory of Future Houtarou/Gotchard Daybreak is really sad and you can tell that he became jaded & pessimistic. Even when he succeded helping his younger self and created a branch timeline, his personality never change because his timeline is still fucked up. Not until his younger self came into his timeline and help him, letting him hear Rinne voice again and realizing his mistake that Daybreak can move forward and back to his original self
Tbh this movie is a lot better than series.. Imagine it's like this the series, ofc not killed all the character like in the movie but make the stake that high instead of turning the world gold
I agree with you for the most part. If the want to use the face only idk why glion not use kudo face, daybreak literally have a clear soft spot for her.. Imagine he has to face kudo
Decade save legend world that led to him being a hero based on him.
I know it's almost completely impossible, but there's a tiny part of me that hopes that Legend keeps popping up for an episode or two of every rider season for the next few years before being the protagonist of his own season proper for the tenth anniversary, like his 'journey through the decade' in real time, which would also give a reason for him to have progressively more forms as he goes, like having Gotchard cards during an appearance in Gavv and so on. This concept is ruined by his cards being linked to the Chemies for some reason that I still don't really understand, but I think it would be a fairly decent rationale for his otherwise totally inexplicable presence in Gotchard. Given that they went out of their way to put him on promotional materials for the series and have him feature prominently in the movie, I doubt this will happen, but I'd like to imagine that it will end well somehow.
Legend was stated that he could use gochizous in his next appearance implying that when he returns it will be with a proper gimmick for the show
im not a fan of it but they teased/hinted that he'll be in gavv or at least has a play somewhere, so this being a new thing every season is possible
I would say would be intresthing if he appeared on the summer movie. Gavv is usually tightly packed but there you can have him play a plot relevant role.

Given the fact that it's a Gotchard movie , I already had my expectation low , but the movie was glazed by the Japanese (probably it was actually a good in the theatre and not a post series thing) and taking on the interesting part of Gotchard as the plot that had my expectation raised up just to crash down again . Its enjoyable to some extent but , the pacing is horrible if you ask me . Given how Future Houtaro was easily persuaded to not only bring Rinne but also a random kid to the main enemy base is baffling.
And there's Legend and I swear he's worst than his series/debut interpretation. He goes from one shotting the Trooper to getting his card sliced off in a matter if 2 fight , like what the hell . Not only that but I firmly believe that they should've keep legend in the spin-off and never in the series let alone in the movie , making the reiwa's shinobi of sort. Apart from that , Gavv appearing I guess make sense since Aurora curtain is a thing and probably gavv go through it like how Kota did in the Wizard rider crossover.
Additionally, Dorado is a huge disappointment for such a cool suit , like it's already established that Geryon is a doll and his main series has successfully rebelled against his creator but letting the Abyssalis king possesing him after Dorado was knocked out is such a waste. Not only that but (this is a personal thing btw) I thought they going to make the daybreak cheny as hitodama equivalent as its already established that its canon in the raidenji episode. Nd of course , Minato x Kyouka coming out of nowhere is also a minus 🗿
All in all , this movie did meet my initial expectations since just like Revice's , the only plus is probably the action , except I like the unmasking thing since it was quite unsettling to see them. Will add another minus though since unlike Revice Battle Familia , it does not contribute to the series at all 🗿

@akira8393 TRUE . Prominent on the MinaKyo ship but aside from that , it's either they used generic fanfic ideas(just like revice or reusing old ideas that work (valvarad vs angel , daybreak)
The only reason I wanted to watch it was for decade, legend and daybreak

The riders and rangers are all in the same world, except Kyuranger and somewhat Build. It's not rocket science. Of course, King Ohger is on another planet.

How so? Kirameiger and Ryusoulger had a crossover. Same thing with Toqger since they crossover with Kyoryuger, Ninninger, and recently Boonboomger.

@@MaxStarScream Toqger travelt to other universes and at the end of the toqger vs kyoryuger movie they travelt to return into they own universe same with ninninger vs toqger if they were in the same universe why didn't they just walk at the end of the movie
The future rider is an ultraman actor.
Was it worth it? Random Hank says no. Even Masahiro Inoue's cameo felt pointless and forced. This coming from a Decade stan
compared to the show itself? id say yes.
@akira8393 being honest, Future Daybreak was just a hodge podge of dropped storylines. The sad part is the dropped storylines were actually good
@ the writers admit they switched so many ideas during episode 10, which is why it just went off rails in the second arc.

gotchard daybreak movie is a good showcase of what gotchard could be but the dumb writers got so much in their asses that they just wanna piss on every opportunity they can. they made the actors look like bumbling idiots in the series that i feel so sorry especially to hotarou's actor. it's a disgrace how little fuck the staff give for this show as there was so many of gotchard's ideas keep swapping just for sake of it and we get a mess of a show and i can never understand how people can even say they appreciate gotchard when the writers gave no fucks at all. even a terrible show like ghost was shit because the guy behind it was too occupied in his other work and the remaining writers had to scramble whatever they can. unlike gotchard, the writers in ghost at least gave a fuck.
