    Tightening the block is one of those crucial things that's often overlooked. I once stripped out the bolt threading on a cheaper licensed floyd's block because I hadn't tightened it in a while. I heard a loud SNAP after doing a divebomb, and the block fell right off lol

    Hey man, I was having so much tuning issues with my Ibanez with a Edge Pro II, and I really didnt want to swap the tremolo in it as I don't really have the money to buy a FRO or a OEP style bridge. I was doing everything you said to do and I got worried that something would've been wrong with my trem, as I didnt realy any sounds or see anything moving. So when I got to the part where you said to make sure every bolt is locked tight then i found my issue. Turns out after i did repairs on my guitar i didnt lock down the bolts that held the locking nut to the neck tight enough. After that i made sure all the bolts were locked down, and when i tuned the guitar and went ham on the trem, my guitar stayed in tune this time! Thank you so much for the help by making this video, not only you're my savior, you're also my wallet's savior too!

    another thing is to make sure both side of the springs are evenly balanced… I was having a problem with my G coming back sharp and I had to tweak one side of the claw just slightly (loosen it) and then it stopped the issue. Sometimes it takes a lot of little tweaks

      @@robpags Nice. Do you stretch the strings after locking the nuts? So it would be something like, lock nuts, stretch for a while, unlock nuts and retune a bit, restretch etc etc..
      How many springs do you use now and in which shape? Mine came with 3 and it's used in an agular shape, I tried using parallel lines but it didn't make a diff.

    My problem is that I can do dive bombs perfectly fine without tuning issues but as soon as I do a bend that string goes way out of tune, and the only way to bring it back is by doing another dive bomb. (My Floyd rose isn’t floating, sits flush against the body Evh style)

    • @fajaradi1223
      @fajaradi1223 29 дней назад

      Dude, go check a video from Darrell Braun. This problem is quite common on any kinds of floating trems. Not exclusive to FR, even Wilkinson, gotoh, edge, vega, kahler, etc also suffer the same issue. Particularly on G string. It goes slightly out of tune after bends. But back in tune after a slight tap on the trem.
      Sorry, RUclips prevent any kind of link to a video.

    I've failed to get it.I"ve replaced my old locking nut with quite an expensive OFR,restringed using locking method, stretched strings super aggressively, played not even 10mins and this guitar keeps going out of tune.Locking nut is supposed to lock all your strings so they cant slide.Where can they be sliding? I've not even touched the whammy bar.Please can you explain why?thanks very much.

    • @nerfertracker642

      you can try unscrewing the locking nut screws and stretch the strings and play the guitar for like two days and then try locking it, your strings might not be stabilized.

    Why Floy Rose go out of tune. The springs!!! If you have new springs they could be not broken in and locking at different tentions. My guitar came with 2 brand new springs and bridge was locking at two tention positions. I added one extra thick spring that was used many years on other guitar and the problem was immediatly solved.

    Great video, thank you man and greetings from Germany! Got a question: I own two Kramers and as you might know they don't have a recessed floyd rose. I tightened the springs in the back to make the trem touch the body. It's angled a little bit but in my theory it doesn't have any possibility to move back and always comes back to it's same position. I think every EVHs are set up like this, don't they? I want to know is this correctly? Because I still have some tuning issues, after a dive bomb my guitars to just a little little bit flat for a few cents and you won't hear it but I'm still wondering why? I mean in theory I should have a much more stable trem because it's not floating. Maybe you can help and thanks :)

    • @OferHolan
      @OferHolan Год назад

      Thanks man glad you liked it!
      Yes it sounds like it's set up like an EVH guitar.
      Now you need to make sure the bridge is still straight, it cannot be angled AT ALL!
      I personally don't have any guitar that the bridge is flat with the body, all of them are floating even if they are not recessed.
      So make sure the tremolo is dead flat with the body and also make sure to stretch the strings properly.
      Also make sure the nut is tight to the neck and it is locked properly.
      Hope it helps good luck!

      בוודאי, תמיד צריך לגרז את הסכינים. יש גריז מיוחד לזה. אם הסכינים או העמודים התומכים (פול פיסז) שעליהם הסכין יושבת שחוקים, לא יעזור לך שום גירוז וצריך להחליף או את אחד מהם או את שניהם. אבל גירוז יכול לעכב את השחיקה הזו.

    • @OferHolan
      @OferHolan Год назад

      You built the guitar yourself or built it from parts?
      Try to see if the Floyd is sitting parallel to the body and also parallel to the neck and pickups.
      Also try to check that the nut is screwed properly to the neck and its not moving.
      If its a new original Floyd the only reason I see it failing is setting it up badly or installing it badly..
