I really like to use a preasure washer after doing a chemical rust removal. I think it helps remove all the waste. You usually need to wipe over it again with the product before painting. It leaves a surface for good paint adhesion.
First time to mention don’t use this on galvanized parts. White power is great and normal. Sometimes you get that glossy coating which I think is from a little too much and build up. I get that too sometimes. I try to wipe off excess while it’s still dry which still minimize it. Use an angle grinder with a multi strand steel brush and go over it all before prime and paint. Osphos is used to etch new metal before prime. Same thing go over with that metal bristle brush afterwards before prime
Steel wires polish the metal rather than abrading it, making paint stick less not more. I'd still go over it with sandpaper if I used a wire wheel on it.
The Ospho site says this is normal. The white powdery stuff shows up after it cures. You're supposed to use mineral spirits to wipe it off before you paint.
Thanks for the comment I am getting better with the product and having a platform where I can ask questions and get answers is turning out to be the best tool in my chest thanks again!
Simply re-wet it with Ospho, the wash it off.
It will cut through the old dried product, and come out clean.
Thank you 👍!
