Never played the game, but I suspect that "move two spaces to eat" means that the second space must be occupied by the animal being eaten. If the card had said, "move two spaces THEN eat", I would agree that you move two spaces without eating and then you move on top of your prey in a neighboring space (i.e., the predator moved a total of three spaces). Of course, I don't know what I am talking about.
