A few other references not in the video: -The first gen plasma rifles resemble the props from the first movie and the Gen2 plasma rifles resemble the ones from the second. -There are Cryoco trucks all over the landscape. -The Infiltrator's outfit resembles the Punk outfit worn by the Terminator in the first movie, albeit with a hood. -The man screaming at the beginning of the Hospital mission appears to be the basis for the T-1000 basic look, as his corpse can be found, and he resembles Robert Patrick. -Theres a note found in the Hollywood Hills mission that references Gale Anne Hurd and Bill Wisher. Gale Anne Hurd was James Cameron's wife and Producer during the first movie and Executive Producer for the second. Bill Wisher helped write the screenplays for both films, as well as the novelizations, as well as cameoed as Officer 1L19 in The Terminator and as the tourist with the camera during the Galleria scene in T2 Judgement Day.
Thank you Andy! It's interesting info, something I 've missed and something didn't even know :) As for weapons and all kinds of machines I didn’t include them because it’s kind of obvious stuff for a game based on a movie.
Y'know, I'm tired pretending that this game was only "good", "decent", "all they could do with the limited budget" No, this game is excellent, pure and unfiltered fanservice, combined with likeable characters, an impactful story and godly music, respecting not only the players time and money, but also the source material, which is a rare thing these days. It is the final conclusion the fans waited almost 30 years for. It is important. I think the credits said it best: "TERMINATOR: RESISTANCE Officially licensed 'Terminator' and 'Terminator 2' game"
I agree, say what you want about gameplay or whatever but as a terminator fan this was an amazing experience that I've played through twice now,nd you can tell they are fans of the franchise. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that I didnt get to play as an infiltrator in the DLC because I play on ps4.
One tiny detail i'm SHOCKED they implemented into the game, is the additional weak point of the HK Aerial... For most enemies, their weak point is the giant glowy bit, but if you shoot a rocket at an Aerials glowy spot, it still does increased damage, but not as much as shooting the engine! This is likely a reference to when the soldiers take down an Aerial with a rocket to the engine during the opening of T2!
Man this game was amazing. The soundtrack in my opinion was damn near perfect. Playing it and exploring every inch of the maps, I wish I could forget the game so I could experience it all over again. Movie companies trying to make a terminator movie need to look at what these devs did.
developers knew the series very well. I'm a huge fan of terminator and i immediately noticed every single reference from background music to objects and characters lines. I loved this game so much but it had the potential to be better but they did a good job
god this game is thorough with its references. i never noticed john grabbed the binoculars during his walk through the bunker in my umpteen times seeing T2, until watching the side-by-side. these devs wanted to get this game RIGHT!!
found another reference. the first time you meet the t800 in skynets lab when you come out of ventilation canal there's a dead guy from resistance on a chair whick looks sooo much like robert Patrick the t1000. seems like he was in resistance then skynet used him as a model for the new terminator
I agree completely. The game wasn't made for general audiences, it was made for Terminator fans. Most of the complaints are about not fighting terminators, that's because they didn't play long enough to encounter them, and the introduction of the terminators was intentionally delayed to create atmosphere. An atmosphere of vulnerability in a world ruled by a killer artificial intelligence. Hiding in the vent when you first see a terminator, with the sudden change in music was masterful storytelling. You knew you were vulnerable and not ready to go at them directly. Then moments later, you're hit with the human template used for the T-1000. A memorable gaming experience, that would have been lost if you rushed the storytelling by introducing terminators into the first part and made them easy to kill. The game was passionately made to serve a particular audience. It landed with that audience.
I think one of my favorite little details about this game is when your sneaking around the T-800 units, the idle scanning animations they do are identical to the first endoskeleton you see after it stomps on the skull at the very start of the future war scene in T2. It’s a small detail, but I just like that everything from the visuals, the atmosphere of the world, the gameplay, and even the cadence of the terminators is so accurate to the original movies. I remember a year or two after this game originally came out, that I was looking at reviews of the game from your top gaming journalist companies and I immediately wrote it off and didn’t even think about playing the game out of fear that I was gonna be disappointed at a potentially botched attempt at making a Terminator game, now I bought the game a few weeks ago and I have been super impressed with the game. It is super nostalgic to me because it brings me back to simpler times when my dad and I would watch the first two Terminator movies. After having played the main campaign and the Annihilation Line story so far, I’m so mad that I didn’t play this game sooner. Better late than never, this game will always have a special place in my heart!
You missed one or two 1) commander Perry who was Kyle Reese's former commander in terminator resistance he was dead 2) The human resistance fighter who's likeness was used for the T-1000 in Terminator 2
What I like about the opening war scene in T2 & Resistance. In T2, the soldier walking behind John then to right off screen as John was looking through his binoculars is Jacob Rvivers. What I like about Reef Entertainment here, they added to the existing lore of the original timeline.
I was 5 months old when terminator came out, love the movie, game looks realy detailed, although, I never heared of it, gonna check it out😃, great vid man!
It definitely appears in some Terminator movie :) I'm just old school Terminator fan and I'd like to pretend only T1 and T2 movies exist and maybe Salvation. Thanks anyway!
Actually, T3 was ok, but not as great as the first two movies. Something just not so impressive to me about it, story mostly repeats previous T2. But my biggest disappointment about it is John Connor’s image, I mean, how can a badass kid from T2 turn into someone so boring... PS: I'm not saying it's a bad movie, just doesn't suit my taste :)
Oh, man! You forced me to double check on T1 movie:) It was brown International in T1 and the truck from the game looks to me more like Freighliner from T2. And color scheme is undoubtedly from T2.
There is way more easter eggs, at the hospital where you encounter the first T-800, the man that was streaming tied on a medic tablet IS actually a resistance soldier being cut open to be a model for the T-1000... He is modeled after Robert Patrick!
A lot of love and care went into this game and these game "journalists" just dumped on it big time. I think they did a fantastic job with the resources that they had. I bought this game physically and digitally just to help support. It isn't perfect but it is far from what these reviewers were saying about this game.
You missed one, right after you get to your first run in the the Terminator in the hospital you find a dead guy on the table that Ryan believes to be from the resistance, the dead guy looks a LOT like Robert Patrick. The ears and hair style kinda give it away albeit his hair is black compared to Roberts.
