Hello John. Love your videos. I would love to see a video explaining as you see it. Why do the french not allow night fishing? What is the logic?
    Thanks bud.

i have always been told that it is un- safe to be in a boat with no life jacket on.so why would you go out in a boat with no vest and then leave chest waders on......big no no.

+Ant Gray There's actual videos on youtube where they test this. And if I remember clearly, there's not one situation where waders pull you under. They actually help you float. Even when you're wearing a thick winter jacket.

6oz-8oz leads off the tip of your rods? What's all that about. The benefits of such a set-up are hugely outnumbered by the negatives as this video shows. A 3-4lb Bream sat on your hook all night without any indication?! That's just plain crazy fishing.
Your rigs looked like you were sea fishing. Bizarre to me.
I also have an issue with anglers turning up to venues and casting to the obvious features that everyone else fishes towards. i.e casting to the tallest tree on the horizon or, to obvious snags etc.
If you do what the average angler does you should expect average results. I always tend to fish areas other than the norm and it's always worked well for me. No fancy rigs or bait needed. I just put my baits where the fish aren't used to seeing them presented.
You leaving baits in situ for 48+hrs also bothers me.
You still get a thumbs up for effort and a well-made video, though. Even if i do question your methods.

+Bill Bob The big leads are to aid self hooking, a smaller lead is going to have a hard time pulling a big, strong hook home when a fish picks up the bait. Bream can hook themselves on a 1oz lead and just sit there giving you no indication so the size of the lead/general approach is not always responsible for waking up to a surprise snotty on the end of the line.
These venues aren't heavily stocked or fished, you don't have to seek the less pressured spots, you are looking for a few big fish in a very big pond so you are better off targeting the most likely areas or searching the fish out. This isn't stalking on your local commercial or park lake, these are wild fish in a huge, natural environment. If you can't find the fish and target them directly then setting a trap and waiting for them to find it is a tested and proven method.

      use sharper hooks!

    • @DjDolHaus86

Being a professional and respected angler I suspect his hooks are already as sharp as they can be. The thicker gauge wire used for larger hooks is always going to present more resistance so will always require more force to penetrate no matter how fine the point is, you can use a file to reduce the thickness of the wire but then you're reducing the strength of the hook and whats the point of hooking something if you can't land it

great video, but terrible regard for personal safety.. out without a life jacket.
