Matthew Sansom Then further off past that AR/VR hybrid contacts lenses and eventually a brain computer interface/DNI that sends neural signals of what it wants you to see/hear and feel directly to your brain. Having any screens/3d objects augmented directly within your field of vision which at that point won’t require glasses or contact lenses, with the ability to type by thought and to literally feel holograms/ AR images by the BCI feeding sensory information/input into your brain, with the ability to switch from AR at any time directly into a full immersion visual auditory virtual reality environment from within the nervous system for games and full immersion VR experiences that are nearly indistinguishable to reality like the equivalent of lucid dreams essentially. That type of technology will UTTERLY revolutionize the human race, although it will be quite awhile until we reach it probably on the order of 60-70 years realistically, though in the meantime we will have the other technology that you/I mentioned probably within 15-30 years, at least for the full immersion AR/VR hybrid regular pair of glasses, contact lenses may take a bit longer.
