My dad died in a car crash June 16th of this year. I ended up getting his 2001 era Colt 1911 Gold Cup competition. It’s absolutely smooth as butter and was made during the golden age of Colt. It reminds me of him every time I carry it
I completely agree with you the 1911 gold cup competition colt should’ve been number one ,this gun was passed down to me by my grandpa when I went through some hard times they offered to buy from me for $2500 but the gun means so much more than money to me so I’ve kept it all this time and it’s a precious memory.
The only complaint I have with the video is I wish he would put the price point next to the gun as he’s showing the pistol. That way you get an idea whether any of these could even possibly make it to your safe
It would be nice but...prices can fluctuate a fair bit. And it also depends if your buying it brand new, blemished new, or used, it also depends on what kind of finish you have it (ie duty black or stainless etc) on it. Plus the features on it such as certain ones have rails or different sights or shoot different calibers. So prices fluctuate a bit for that
Jeremy TerWisscha I and most people understand that, but a basic price point is not that hard to come up with. People know new is more expensive than used. They know different finishes come with different prices. A ball park number for standard or most common is what I am referring to.
Rock Island 1911's are top notch. Most don't know it but Colt sold them the machinery to the Series 70 models, so that's why they are so nice for around $400. Every part in my Colt fits and works in the Rock Island , what's that tell you. The Colt in 1996 was $550, but today that is $883.00 vs $400ish for the Rock Island.
1. Dan Wesson Specialist 2. Springfield Armory TRP Operator 3. Dan Wesson Valor 4. Dan Wesson PM-C 5. Kimber Raptor 6. S&W E-Series 1911 7. Kimber TLE RL 8. Sig Nightmare Fastback 9. Sig STX 10. Colt Delta Elite
I dont know If ALL know but American friends , Springfield have many parts who as made in Brazil my country , Brazilian army factory called I.M.B.E.L , to us is a honnor to produce the perfect pistol god bless Jhon Moses Browning 😁💪🇧🇷🇺🇸
Not a bad list but I wouldn't put any current production Kimber on my list. They used to make great guns but, like Remington and Marlin, they simply suck now and are living on their historical reputation
I'd put Colt on that list too. They got cut from the elite tier 1, MARSOC M45 sidearm contract. This is widely considered the final US armed forces unit to issue(not allow or authorize) the 1911a1 sidearm. For the record in the summer of 2018, I saw public affairs images of several US generals & joint chiefs staff members guarded by uniformed USMC Marines with upgraded 1911a1 .45acp type pistols. I'm not sure if this was a choice by the unit or if each Marine could pick a 1911a1 pistol.
I have a Kimber 1911 Pro Carry HD from 2004. Stainless slide with blackened “KimPro” finished lower. Beautiful, accurate and reliable. A lot of rounds down range over the years. I love it.
I used a Springfield 1911 as a US Army officer. It was super for me. I own two Springfield 1911 .45's called Range Officers. One is full size and one is the compact size. They both have bull barrells that make them very accurate and very balanced. Two great 1911 pistols for under $1k.
I've had a long and passionate love affair with my Springfield A-1 GI!!! It's completely reliable and accurate. And it looks like it came straight outta WW-2
Still have my first 1911, a 2003 Springfield Mil-Spec in the Parkerized finish. After 20 yrs of shooting every type of ammo from Russian, cheap ball-ammo to insane Hydra-Shock hps it has NEVER, not once hung up or jammed on me. Love it so much that a few yrs back I got a brushed stainless Range Officer Springfield, full-frame & put some black grips on it & it is an absolute reliable nail-driver. I love my Springfield 1911s. Im curious why our host here hates Springfield so much.
This video should be preceded by a warning, "Watching this video may be detrimental to your bank account.". Wife and I compete with 9mm 1911s and just moved from CA where handgun options are shrinking to nothing. Now I have a bad case of gun lust.
The Colt Gold Cup National Match Series 70 is worth a mention. Maybe a little old-school for people who like more tactical 1911's, but it is honestly one of the most beautiful production 1911's I've ever seen. Great adjustable rear sight, royal blue finish, super light trigger, plus the gorgeous wood grips with the gold emblems.
10 - 4, even though I do not have / know one, it's just the name that turns me on unlike S & W whom I can't stand after buying one of their crappy AR-15's.
@@raptorman6589 Several years after making the OP, yes I will agree that the new Colt Gold Cups are junk pistols for the money. I've had numerous Dan Wesson 1911's since and they are immeasurably higher in quality relative to the money spent. I've also dipped my toe into the Les Baer realm- incredible built quality, but those are a bit like high end muscle cars; really expensive, takes lots of time spent under the hood to keep it running right.
The 1911 is my favourite handgun! The look, the feel... and they're generally a reliable piece of hardware. On the top of my list would have to be the Springfield Armory Range Officer Elite 10mm 1911.
Congratulations, YankeeMarshal!!! Being well aware of your prejudice against Springfield Armory (from past RUclips broadcasts) you were still objective enough to place the TRP at #2. Most accurate 1911 I have ever owned, and still own, is one of their stainless TRP models. Beautiful "out of the box" performance, consistently producing 1& 1/2" groups at 25 yards but shooting approx. 12" high of point of aim with their tritium sights (which, as you know, are pretty much "unajustable for elevation). Contacted Springfield and was advised to send it back to them - receiving a free return shipping label. One week later (yes, just one week) they returned my TRP to me with new tritium sights that were adjusted to 25 yard POI and also include a test target. Not only was I impressed with the Springfield Armory TRP, I was also extremely impressed with their customer service. "Gun politics" aside, and recognizing your prejudice against Springfield Armory, it was refreshing to see that you set all of that aside and gave them, along with the others, an honest review of 1911's.
Over a decade ago I bought one of their A-1 GI models and have been very impressed with its performance. Completely reliable with all kinds of ammo and in any weather. Even the tiny GI sites somehow produce tight groups. And the best part...I only paid $450.0 for it!!! I wouldn't trade it for any of the boutique brands...I am a Springfield fan!!!
Love my Springfield mil spec 1911. I also have 2 Kimbers and a Rock Island Armory. All in 45 ACP. I still believe the 1911s are the best handguns made. Call me old school. I have damn near any caliber in handguns and rifles. Still love my Springfield 45 mil spec
Hi YM, Good to see that you have taken a liking to the 1911 platform these days. My son and I have been big fans of the Dan Wesson’s for a couple years now, and I have a Smith and Wesson Engraved 1911 that I love, and it comes in around $900. Thanks for the video and have a safe weekend with the Snow Storms coming our way in February 2019..... I thought we were going to make it without major snow this winter oh well. Take care. B9USA Sr.
My favorite 1911 of all time is the Colt MK 4 Officer's model.Back in 86, I was a young chap fresh out of the Marine Corps. I got myself a job and I got my first credit card. I went to a gun store and that is what I bought. At the time, I was dating my future wife and we had talked about getting engaged. I stopped by her parent's house where she lived and showed it to her. She picked it up out of the box and looked at it. She then asked me, "Is that what you bought instead of my engagement ring?" Two weeks later, I went 1200.00 further in debt via a ring.Thirty two years later, we are still together and I still have that Colt. I wouldn't trade it for a custom Ed Brown.
I have a lightweight officers model purchased around ‘89 and installed a lot of Wilson Combat parts to it then had the Roguard finish applied with NP3 for the internals. Sweet little.45.
Unit 38 Great story, still have the gal & the Colt. My duty weapon as a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio is a Colt Commander that was made in 1974. My hearing protection I got in ‘73 when I was 15 years old. So at annual range qualification, my sidearm & hearing protection is older than most of the guys I shoot with. By the way they’re mostly carrying Glock .40’s, they wouldn’t understand. Good Day to You!
I think the Springfield Armory Model 1911 A1 Loaded should have been on the list. Comes with many features including Tritium Night Sights. Mine has functioned flawlessly and the Parkerized finish makes it one of the nicest looking guns around.
I always loved the A-1's...so when I found a Springfield A-1 GI about a decade ago I grabbed it for less than 5 bills. It's never had a failure no matter the ammo...and despite its GI sites still shoots tight groups. Looking at those expensive guns makes me love it all the more...I wouldn't trade it for any of them!!!
I won't argue with your choices at all! I personally prefer the Kimber Ultra Carry several hundred rounds out of the box and Zero issues regardless of ammo. Then Again my full size is an RIA 1911 A1 and it is the same way.
Kimber TLE II is the first gun I purchased with my own money. Nearly a decade and many thousands of rounds later it's still going strong. Only thing I've replaced is the recoil spring.
I never considered owning a 1911 until Ruger brought the SR1911 to market. Ruger represents just about everything that I feel a great gun manufacturer should be giving you great quality and value for the dollar. I'm guessing that a lot of people made their acquaintance with the 1911 platform because of their trust in Ruger and that the SR1911 should be on your list for that reason alone. I've shot my SR1911 enough to know that should I have to trust my life to it, it won't fail me.
My dad's Kimber had issues with the mag falling out, he sent it in.. they sent it back... Then it fell apart while he was shooting it ... Traded it in for a sig the same day
I have several Kimbers and Springfields. Love them all. Wouldn't trade em for nothing. Reliable , accurate and well built. Granted my Springfields were purchased before they soiled themselves. But you can't knock a fine pistol .
Kimber Custom TLE 2, Threaded Barrel and Suppressor High Night Sights. .45 ACP, carry with 10+1. No failures, looks sexy as all hell and the action is just ridiculous.
Do you know what the guy in the video was talking about with the "MIM" in too many parts for their guns? Is that some kind of inferior material? I've heard Kimbers are really great - best 1911 for the money, best production 1911. Just want to understand this concern. The Dan Wessons also seem to be impressive and competitive with Kimber after watching this video. Thanks.
My 1911 is an old, pre-Kahr Auto Ordnance Government Model. GI sights, trigger, grip safety, GI guide rod, bushing, recoil spring plug. The previous owner had the barrel throated and polished so it will feed hollow points and two Wilson Combat magazines. It's not fancy, neat or tight as the newer 1911s are but it puts lead downrange wherever you aim for, doesn't jam, goes bang first time every time. You can't ask for more than that
I’ve had M-1911’s from the Marines to now, I will admit the M-1911 is my favorite. I like the M45A1 and I like the Springfield Marine Corps operator. Just my personal preference.
i was watching and im like, damn.. this deserves a comment. This video is so good. the format is awesome, its short, simple and i love the countdown you did. amazing
Just got a Kimber Stainless II. Put a set of rosewood grips on it and got in some Trijicon sights for it and thinking about putting an ambi-safety on it. Only got a 100 rounds through it so far no issues. So far, it's an awesome gun.
I own a Remington R1S Enhanced. My first 1911. I have over 2000 rounds through it and could not be happier. Never had a misfire or jam. Everyone hates Remington, and after buying a RM380 my opinion is not as great as it once was. But my R1S is still a great pistol and for the money a good buy.
Thank you for including Dan Wesson on this list, I just picked up a Specialist and the fit and finish are freakin ridiculous. If anyone is on the fence about Dan Wesson, don't be. You won't be disappointed. Worth every cent!!
"It gives us something to fight about.." ***pulls concealed carry*** "...but it doesn't really matter so we don't get to mad about it." ***slowly puts carry gun away***
Back in '87 my gunsmith directed me to buy a cheap 1911 (since the inards were going to be gutted anyway) to build a race gun with. I bought a Springfield and I don't think I ever got through a whole mag without a jam before I turned it over to the gunsmith. For one thing the mag was junk. The gunsmith gutted it and built it into a good race gun that I competed with for 3 years (used Wilson Combat mags). My next race gun was a Colt. I never bought another Springfield, but I have been seriously thinking about the Hi Point SA35. I have never owned any of the 1911's mentioned here, but the best stock 1911 I have ever owned was a Gold Cup. Wish I had it back. I have an SR1911, RIA, TISAS, and Magnum Research that are pretty good for the money.
OK, so I read through the replies here and tried to remain objective. So... first of all, if you don’t like 1911’s that’s fine - people have preferences. However, to offer disparaging remarks about the design & people who love them is ignorant. You obviously didn’t have family who fought in WWII and appreciate the history. The 1911 is iconic, an extremely reliable design, and suited the men who used them in war. Enough said.. Quality: yep, no doubt some companies have produced some crappy 1911’s. Some continue to do so, many are overpriced. That’s related to manufacturing & marketing, not the 1911 design. I’ve always appreciated the 1911 and consider it to be my overall favorite design. For a gun designed in early 1900’s that’s still in use & widely collected, that says something. I’ve had Colt’s that were problematic & overpriced, Sigs that were ok but lot’s of MIM parts (remember when the GSG was considered garbage??). I still have a 10 year old Kimber compact ultra 2 tactical that’s been flawless through 1,000’s of rounds. Same for 2 SA’s I’ve had for over 10 years (a “loaded” that’s extremely tight, and a TRP that shoots like some of the high-end customs I’ve had). Sure, it’s not the best gun for each individual’s purpose, but that’s what we own different designs from different companies. I personally have a wide variety and like them all. Lastly, the ASS HAT reference: I get it and am ticked about it. If they sell out gun owners then yes I’ll stop supporting them, but do you remember the Bill Ruger idiocy in regards to magazine capacity? Yet many bought Rugers regardless. Personally I did not, but now Ruger has disavowed from the stance. So let’s all calm down, keep your SA’s if you like them, but don’t continue support them if that’s your conviction. The community needs to come together and make our voices heard, and if we’re ignored I’ll join in calling them ass hats! This is just one man’s viewpoint taken from 40 years of shooting....
> I am in no way trying to flirt, inviting sexual advances, or implying that I am willing to engage in any sexual acts of any kind. What a heartbreaker...
Someone enlighten me about this issue with Springfield Armory. SA has a partnership with the Hillsdale College (great school that teaches the real meaning of the Constitution) shooting program. They also cut ties with Dick's after they came out as weak on the 2d Amendment. If they offended gun owners rights folks, I haven't heard about it.
I own a Dan Wesson Discretion. I was impressed with the looks of the pistol, but handling it... it is an amazingly well made firearm. Just racking the slide give the first clue that you are holding quality in your hand. The accuracy is as one would expect from something so well put together. Anyone considering a 1911... you cannot go wrong with Dan Wesson. Also, if you like CZs... that's who owns them. Go figure.
I have a kimber raptor. I am done with glock and sig plastic wise. I will not purchase Springfield... but I am looking for a 1911 in 40 caliber for carry don’t have a lot of revenue but I don’t want a crap 💩 gun either .. do you have any suggestions sir thank you
I've had the TRP and have the Specialist. Your 1 and 2 choices are right on. The TRP is very close with the Specialist, can't go wrong with either one.
I love all of the 1911s on your list. Only one I’d add is the colt 80 and 70 series. I know it’s two different firearms. I’m just saying for a standard 1911 they’ve come a long way as far as improvements is concerned
Everyone is going to have personal preference which is going to influence their opinion. They’re all nice. Personally I love my Kimber custom II it just feels right for me I’ve had no problems with it and I really want the Rapide Black Ice in 10mm, but I’d have no problem taking any off of this list.
I have this this strange infatuation with the Royal II. I do not understand why because I do not like kimber. I will say this, the Custom II Two-tone is always on sell online somewhere for $599 and there is no better made 1911 from anyone at that price.
Severely injured from wounds sustained overseas but I still duty-carry the SIG 1911 and love it! that said my new primary carry I'm transitioning to is a 1999 near mint Heckler and Koch USPc that can do any trigger variation I can think of outside of DAO. IMO the HK USP/c .45 are in the top-Five .45s ever made. Springfield and Kimber and a Colt Gold CUp (91 I tink but am not sure) are all great 1911s as well but I love how unique loooking the SIG is and how wonderful the trigger is. Tested it next to a Nighthawk and while I noticed some great differences, I didn't notice hardly a difference in trigger or recoil or management, and I consider myself an experienced shooter...still doesn't change me wanting a NIghthawk lol.
I got a trp, it’s also a great value considering the price compared to a custom made 1911. It’s a very sweet 1911 and honestly makes you a better shot.
Colt Delta Elite, even though I've never shot one, remains at the very top off my "to buy" list. I just have a hard time justifying to myself buying a pistol that I will realistically never carry. It'll happen eventually I just don't know when "eventually" will come around. As far as Kimber is concerned, I try not to be one of the front runners for the Kimber bashing crowd, but my very first experience with them was a Custom II that I bought for around $750 or so. I gave it ample time to work for me, and I put about 700 rounds through it before giving up. 1 in 10 shots would malfunction. Either the case would stovepipe, or the slide wouldn't go into battery with the next round after a shot. This was very consistent. I wanted that gun to work so badly, when it didn't malfunction it was very accurate and a pleasure to shoot in addition to being a great looking gun. But I had no confidence that I could successfully defend myself with it if need be. Just a thought though, I think based on pricing alone Rock Island is worthy of at least honorable mention. My RIA ran me around $400, it's very accurate and hasn't malfunctioned on me when I use quality ammo. Is it nearly the level of quality that you get out of say a Dan Wesson? Hell no. But it is a VERY reliable and affordable production 1911.
For the life of me I can not figure out why Kimber is never higher on peoples list, if it even is at all. I have the Warrior in .45acp and like you mentioned you get an almost custom firearm at more than half the cost. The company is great, the history is superb, and my Warrior is bad ass...oh, anyone who says they dont like 1911 cuz they need more ammo just needs more range time.
Not arguing with you, but I think a lot of the dislike for Kimber's is that they were bought out by a larger company and the Q/A seems to have went downhill. The earlier models that were made in Oregon (I believe) lived up to what you and YM have said about them. I think a lot of this has to do with when you bought one or when it was made. Just my 2 cents.
@@tidefanyankee2428 Do you know when they were bought out? I bought mine about 5 or 6 years ago. Also, do you know what the guy in the video referred to as MIM - too many MIM parts on some models, and mockingly called it a Mimber? I assume it's some kind of inferior material?
@@rhmayer1 Tim the guy on Military Arms Channel talked about it on one of his videos. I'm not sure when they got bought out, I don't remember what Tim said as it was awhile ago when I saw his video. I've talked to owners of gun stores I've been in when I've looked at 1911's and the consensus is the same. The earlier Kimber's were excellent, but now, not so much. From what I've heard from just about everyone is there are problems with Q/A, They (Kimber) just aren't what they once were.
@@tidefanyankee2428 I just heard from some other Kimber owner/commenter, asking him similarly about the quality dropping after the company was bought. He said that referred to KImber of Oregon, the original company that the father started and they sold only .22's, rifles. That company was sold and then the son later started Kimber of America and all 1911's were from that later company, which never got sold. That doesn't necessarily contradict what you've heard about the quality dropping on the 1911's, but just that it wouldn't be due to the company being bought out. I haven't researched any of this myself - just passing on what another said. Take it or leave it. Thanks for your comments regardless!
I have four 1911's, A Sig TTT, an Asshat Armory, .45 ACP,, and two RIA .38 Supers. One chrome, with contrasting black controls, and one parkerized. I'm seventy nine and don't shoot as much as I would like. I'm more into collecting.
I have two Kimber TLE II (no rail). One Custom (Government) and one Ultra (officers), and I have a Kimber Micro 9. My buddy has 2 Kimber Raptors in Commander and Ultra. He also has a Kimber Micro Raptor 9. Incredible guns.
Do you know what the guy in the video meant about the complaint that Kimber's use "MIM" in too many parts? What is MIM - some inferior material, I assume? I've heard good things about the Kimber - best production 1911 for the money. Just wondering about this concern. The Dan Wesson also seems impressive and competitive with the Kimber for a high quality production 1911.
Got a deal on a Asshat Armory Gov't. model in the early '90s (pre FUBAR) and had the beavertail/commander hammer, extended safety, trigger done for USPSA Limited. Not a hangar queen, she's a driver.
I have a S&W E series TA and right out of the box, dead accurate and it NEVER jams. Love the gun and lower rail. Fit and finish is as good as any custom.
I am curious about your opinion on my two favorites, the Colt Gold Cup Trophy, and the Remington R1 Enhanced. I was a bit surprised that you made no mention of either in your presentation. I will say though that I was happy to see the Delta Elite on your list as it is next on my list to purchase.
My dad had a Kimber Grand Raptor two-tone with carbon fiber Kimber grips, it was absolutely beautiful. It was good to see my 1911 made #1 only difference is mine is the black stainless version.
OMG you got me right out of the gate with number ten !! That is the one gun in my life that I felt the most accurate with. I love the 10mm in that gun !! I sold mine a few years back during hard times to pay bills. That was one of the worst days in my life. Thanks for bringing up old wounds... not sure if I can watch the rest...😥
I am a 1911-guy, and my Springfield TRP Operator is my hands-down favorite. Though I do enjoy them, please do me a favor and save me the time of having to go through all of your previous videos and listen to them all: Just why (in one sentence) are you so hard-over on Springfield Armory? Thanks!
I’m glad you didn’t let your dislike of Springfield get in the way of listing a great gun like the TRP . It lends more credibility at least from my prospective to the list as a whole.
I've really enjoyed my Metro Arms American Classic II, $500 budget 1911 with skeletonized trigger with overstop, upswept beaver tail, commander hammer, Novak style sights, and nice out of the box grips. I had to hand polish the feed ramp, but since then I've had no issues with it in about 500 rounds so far.
Yankee, you forgot the Rock Island 1911 fs-hc 10mm smooth as glass slide, serrations on slide & grip are unreal and feel awesome, fit & finish are near perfect & sights are great & trigger group is perfect very little take up - no creep & right around 4# pull & for a 1911 in 10mm that carries 16+1 capacity & around $650 you ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT BEAT this gun...
I'm a big fan of Dan Wesson. I own a Valkyrie and couldn't be happier. They make great 1911's that don't necessarily break the bank.... I Love my Ruger SR1911 for the money too, I paid $600 at a 1 day Christmas sale a few years back
@@arcocola8183 I only own three 1911's so I don't have a huge collection of them, but my DW Valkyrie is by far the best one I own. I have wanted the Springfield Armory TRP Operator for some time now, that one is a beauty too

1 day a go from today I put a nice ejercito argentina colt 45 MOD 1927 (1911) PISTOL IN LAYAWAY AT MY LOCAL GUN SHOP I FALL IN LOVE WITH IT I HELD THE GUN AND IT JUST FIT MY HAND GREAT I am so happy because I always been wanting one for my budget LoL then I walked in to my local gun shop I see the ejercito argentina colt 45 MOD 1927 (1911) I'm like I got to see if I can get this one and I did and I put it in LAYAWAY it was a great adventure to shop around before you buy, my dad old fashion he always has told me shop before you buy it will sometimes pay off at the end and I have always believed that if you want long enough good things do happen. Thank you YANKEE MARSHAL for the video about 1911 pistols 👍👍😀😀😀😀 god bless you all
I gotta ask....watching your videos from a couple years ago, you have stated you don't really like 1911s all that much. You've even said 45 ACP is "the best at nothing" and implied there were much better options. Now it seems for the past few months you're obsessed with them. Why the change of heart?
@@deathofkindness I did see the video where he basically said he's too old for revolvers/357 magnum now, but I still don't get why he would default to 1911. I know he hates polymer guns but he likes berettas and sigs, so why not a 9mm beretta or sig? I'm pretty sure he has stated in the past that 9mm is superior to 45 acp.
It's crazy how many people don't like Kimber. I got the raptor custom and have almost 3000 rounds through it without a hiccup. It's one of the very few handguns I can sit at 40 yards and hit target. Maybe I just got lucky
Ive found some great deals on upgraded, used kimbers.. my first was a custom 2 with night sights and houge rubber grip for 650 or 700. Loved that gun and wish id never had to sell it.. recently i set out to replace it and found a stainless ultra carry 2 with crimson trace grips and night sights for 750.. also included a galco leather iwb holster. Hope you’re sill enjoying it!
I was very surprised you mentioned the Springfield. That is my favorite 1911. Even though you hate the company you still respect the product they made. I'm impressed
My Sig Ultra Two Tone is an AWESOME little 1911 and full of great, quality features. Also my Sig Emperor Scorpion is a terrific full size 1911 very happy with both
After carrying a Kimber CDP for years off-duty, mine failed miserably at the last qualification. I was told by Kimber that they recommend the recoil spring be changed out after 1,000 rounds. I have Colt 1911's that have thousands of rounds through them that don't need the spring changed. Sorry, it's an accurate comfortable gun to carry concealed, but I can't recommend it. Fortunately I had a Smith Shield in .40 cal. Shield, so I'm not left in the lurch until next qualification.
1st 1911 for me was a SA xdm just great. Also recent 1911 is SA Garrison In the stainless (just superb).I Love all my sa pistols.Yean I like wc but a touch steep.

Yep I have one and absolutely love it. I’m mind blown by the quality for such a low price.
Rock island is shit
Thanks for the intel
Friend just bought the rock island 9mm .22tcm conversion great buy for under $500.
I love my Tisas!
Glad to see two SIG 1911s in this. My SIG 1911 Stainless has had zero failures for over 1000rds so far. Accurate, well made, good looking, reliable.

Gamboa delta elite is one of my holy grail, want but will probably never be able to afford, guns.
Nightmare fastback. Getting the nightmare on sale was my favorite purchase of the year lol. I wish they made a cco 1911 in 357 sig.
Gamboa u a legend
I dont know If ALL know but American friends , Springfield have many parts who as made in Brazil my country , Brazilian army factory called I.M.B.E.L , to us is a honnor to produce the perfect pistol god bless Jhon Moses Browning 😁💪🇧🇷🇺🇸
I’m pick number 10 and 2 that’s my final thanks
You show your friends your Kimber.
You show your enemies your Colt.
You show your wallet your Tisas
Not a bad list but I wouldn't put any current production Kimber on my list. They used to make great guns but, like Remington and Marlin, they simply suck now and are living on their historical reputation
Well said.... I made the Marlin mistake and got rid of it like a hot potato!
I agree, I have not seen a decent Kimber pistol in over a decade. I believe I would have replaced the Kimbers with Colts in that list.
I really like my Kimber. I may have gotten a good one, but no failures and accurate.
Mrgunsngear Channel oh come on man I love kimber they are very accurate
Nice photo shop job on the TRP slide "Asshat Armory". Wonder how many people actually caught that.
I noticed that too! 🤣
Damn that was good
Great gun SA company... not so much.
I did notice that right away.
Gadsden Jim I didn’t know who the real manufactory was so I assumed it was the name of the company where is my dunce hat!
I have a Kimber 1911 Pro Carry HD from 2004. Stainless slide with blackened “KimPro” finished lower. Beautiful, accurate and reliable. A lot of rounds down range over the years. I love it.
Bought a Ruger SR1911 in 45acp for about $500, zero failures, 4.5 lb factory trigger, great quality, fit, and finish. Did I mention zero failures?
i LOVE MINE
It’s on my wish list. I’d love to see the 10mm version in a commander length too
I have 2 Ruger 1911's and I love them as well. Excellent for the price and I have had zero hiccups. I agree with you 100%
Yeah, my lightweight Ruger 1911 commander also has zero failures & is the only 1911 I’ve ever owned that’s stayed stock! It’s that good.
Well hopefully you shoot it enough to start getting some failures
@@frankblacks.45I’m guessing he tried to get sponsorship from Springfield and they told him “no”.
This video should be preceded by a warning, "Watching this video may be detrimental to your bank account.". Wife and I compete with 9mm 1911s and just moved from CA where handgun options are shrinking to nothing. Now I have a bad case of gun lust.
Did anyone else notice the Springfield said "Asshat Armory" on the right side of the gun? lol
Yeah, at first I thought it was the name of the company he wouldn't name.
Hilarious 😂
Apparently Springfield Armory does not hold a special place in his heart.
Not on mine. Stop being so damn sensitive.
10 - 4, even though I do not have / know one, it's just the name that turns me
on unlike S & W whom I can't stand after buying one of their crappy AR-15's.
Biggest piece of junk I've had.looks great though
So which is your favorite 1911 out of all?
I've had a long and passionate love affair with my Springfield A-1 GI!!! Looks like it came straight outta WW-2
The Magnum Research 1911 is an underrated masterpiece of a value. It easily matches or surpasses most competitors double its price.
Exactly! Insanely better fit and finish than my Kimber Pro Carry, Springfield Ronin, and my old Colt LW commander.
Great story! That is awesome.
She was probably hinting that she would rather have the gun
A1 is shit lmao
I knew when he said he hated the company that I'd be Springfield lmao idk how I knew I just did haha😂😂😂😂
I never fired a 1911 that I didn’t like. The first one was 50 years ago. But I am very happy with the one I carry now, a Kimber Custom TLE.
Kimber has been soiling themselves recently to.
I’m bouta get a kimber dessert warrior hope it’s good
The video starts @2:21
You're welcome.
Thank you
Kimber Custom TLE 2, Threaded Barrel and Suppressor High Night Sights. .45 ACP, carry with 10+1. No failures, looks sexy as all hell and the action is just ridiculous.
You carry with a 10-round .45 stendo magazine? Now that's what I'm talkin about
Spooky Boy hell yes!! Thanks! 😁
Yeah...I love my Springfield A-1 GI!
i was watching and im like, damn.. this deserves a comment. This video is so good. the format is awesome, its short, simple and i love the countdown you did. amazing
I love my Sig Nightmare Carry...it’s one of the most reliable 1911s I’ve ever shot...it didn’t even need a break in period
I want one please
Just got a Kimber Stainless II. Put a set of rosewood grips on it and got in some Trijicon sights for it and thinking about putting an ambi-safety on it. Only got a 100 rounds through it so far no issues. So far, it's an awesome gun.
I like how you changed the writing to AssHat Armory but I would have also changed the two crossed cannons to dildos.
The S&W E Series is hard to beat, and the price is even tougher to beat. I bought mine last summer, and it’s been flawless and dead on.
Same here. First 1911, R1s enhanced. Shot about 600rds through it with zero issues.
Thank you for including Dan Wesson on this list, I just picked up a Specialist and the fit and finish are freakin ridiculous. If anyone is on the fence about Dan Wesson, don't be. You won't be disappointed. Worth every cent!!
Shhhhh- don’t let the secret out about Dan Wesson 1911s...best quality for $ out there, hands down. 😁
I have the DW Pointman Major and the SS C-Bob love the hell out of them and hope to see many more in my collection in future years.
I have the specialist in 10 mm and in my opinion for the price they don’t make a better pistol
I just bought a Colt 1911 competition. I love it. Still firing it in and not 1 FTF or FTE. Accurate reliable and good looking. Colt got this one right
"It gives us something to fight about.."
***pulls concealed carry***
"...but it doesn't really matter so we don't get to mad about it."
***slowly puts carry gun away***
I loved my Springfield 1911, I bought it long before their betrayal. I've since sold it. But man it was a tight gun
@Mr BoJangles78 umm, for those of us who live under a rock (cuz I spent all my money on guns) what's this "Betrayal" I hear mentioned so much?
So is this the reason why they hate Springfield armory so much
I still picked up a mil spec 1911 from them the other day.... Boy could i care less about that.. They make quality
Here......
gunstoday.com/why-is-everyone-boycotting-springfield-armory/
That's great to hear. I like them because they make great guns...like my A-1 GI model...completely reliable and accurate!!!
I spit my dam coffee out @ 08:35 when he dubbed a chicken clucking over him saying Springfield Armory!! LMAO!!!!! He REALLY hates that company :-)
Go figure.
Good to know. I hear nothing but great things about CZs, so makes sense
All of my pistols are CZ, so when I got the itch for a 1911 I had to go with DW. I got a Vigil and couldn’t be happier
Taurus 1911 zero issues ! Beautiful finish, awesome trigger can’t go wrong ....2000 rounds and like I said no Issues.
I love all of the 1911s on your list. Only one I’d add is the colt 80 and 70 series. I know it’s two different firearms. I’m just saying for a standard 1911 they’ve come a long way as far as improvements is concerned
I own a Kimber 1911 Royal, have for 20 yrs, love it. Accurate, dependable.
Great video, Marshal. Loved it. Now to go to the Dan Wesson website and check out that Specialist!
"Couldn't narrow it down to only 5..." Pretty much speaks for how good the 1911 is.
Everyone is going to have personal preference which is going to influence their opinion. They’re all nice. Personally I love my Kimber custom II it just feels right for me I’ve had no problems with it and I really want the Rapide Black Ice in 10mm, but I’d have no problem taking any off of this list.
I love the Springfield Range Officer in 45 cal. Sweet awesome 1911.
Why do you prefer the railed model, when I don't ever remember seeing you using a weapon light/bayonet?
Many of us like to have a rail because we MIGHT put our light/laser on it once in a while.
Everyone bashes Kimber but I personally love their 1911s the raptor is badass and and I love their micro 9s too. Great video 🤙🏼
I have this this strange infatuation with the Royal II. I do not understand why because I do not like kimber. I will say this, the Custom II Two-tone is always on sell online somewhere for $599 and there is no better made 1911 from anyone at that price.
Mr FNH yea man their warranty info is pretty weak but I’ve had 3 of them for roughly 3 years or more and never had any problems.
BlueSteel.44 yes sir I have the two tone and it’s fantastic! One of the most accurate pistols I have in my collection too!
@@bluesteel.4424 ruger sr1911 is a better gun hands down.
They havd a bad reputation fir shitty customer support and jamming a lot.
The Springfield operator is wonderful it's my new edc
even when hes talking hes taking his sights legend😂😂
I've had a long and passionate love affair with my Springfield A-1 GI!!! Looks like it came straight outta WW-2!
I really like Springfield armory a whole lot. Not a ton of bells and whistles, but they're just such a joy to shoot
Me too...I wouldn't trade my A-1 GI for any of the other makers. I'm sure they're fine...but I absolutely love my Springfield!!!
Hey wondering Yankee how come Colts Gold Cup Trophy didn't make the list? Just want to know your opinion/thought I know its your list.
3 out 10 Dan Wessons. Spot on. I own the DW 1911 A2 45 acp, An upgraded version of the military A1. A magnificent firearm.
I have the Vigil and I love it 💥💥💥
I have a S&W E series TA and right out of the box, dead accurate and it NEVER jams.
As far as an entry level 1911...which do you prefer between the Remington r1 and the rock island gi a1?
Have had several. My new favorite is my Canadian Para ordnance p16-40. Absolutely love this gun. It has been tweaked with some Wilson combat parts.
Did you ever get back into the green with your finances? With luck you could always get another one.
@@sooneradmirer4382 That is the great thing about guns... you can always get another one. God Bless the USA !
I just never could find any love for 10mm.
The smith 1006 is far superior to that weapon for the 10mm
Sooner Admirer you mean back in the black
I am a 1911-guy, and my Springfield TRP Operator is my hands-down favorite. Though I do enjoy them, please do me a favor and save me the time of having to go through all of your previous videos and listen to them all: Just why (in one sentence) are you so hard-over on Springfield Armory? Thanks!
I love my Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion.
I’m glad you didn’t let your dislike of Springfield get in the way of listing a great gun like the TRP . It lends more credibility at least from my prospective to the list as a whole.
I can't pretend it's not a great gun just because I don't like the company that makes it.
You should do a list on the best budget 1911's. For those of us on a tight budget
Indeed. Love the platform, just hate the extra mortgage payment
Ruger sr1911 can't beat it for the price
Rock island armory is the best sub $600 1911 made.
EDIT: Sorry, corrected myself
I've really enjoyed my Metro Arms American Classic II, $500 budget 1911 with skeletonized trigger with overstop, upswept beaver tail, commander hammer, Novak style sights, and nice out of the box grips.
I had to hand polish the feed ramp, but since then I've had no issues with it in about 500 rounds so far.
Yankee, you forgot the
Rock Island 1911 fs-hc 10mm
smooth as glass slide, serrations on slide & grip are unreal and feel awesome, fit & finish are near perfect & sights are great & trigger group is perfect very little take up - no creep & right around 4# pull & for a 1911 in 10mm that carries 16+1 capacity & around $650 you ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT BEAT this gun...
I'm a big fan of Dan Wesson. I own a Valkyrie and couldn't be happier. They make great 1911's that don't necessarily break the bank.... I Love my Ruger SR1911 for the money too, I paid $600 at a 1 day Christmas sale a few years back
APB 28 is the dan Wesson your favorite? Would you sell it? I’m thinking of one someday
@@arcocola8183 I only own three 1911's so I don't have a huge collection of them, but my DW Valkyrie is by far the best one I own. I have wanted the Springfield Armory TRP Operator for some time now, that one is a beauty too
@@arcocola8183 I wouldn't sell it lol

I am a retired policeman. I used to carry a colt python. I shoot every month and I bring all colt products. I have two colt 45.s from ww1 and other than changing the spring I did not do anything else. It’s shoots perfectly. My son is a marine and all he wants to shoot is the .45 when we go
1 day a go from today I put a nice ejercito argentina colt 45 MOD 1927 (1911) PISTOL IN LAYAWAY AT MY LOCAL GUN SHOP I FALL IN LOVE WITH IT I HELD THE GUN AND IT JUST FIT MY HAND GREAT I am so happy because I always been wanting one for my budget LoL then I walked in to my local gun shop I see the ejercito argentina colt 45 MOD 1927 (1911) I'm like I got to see if I can get this one and I did and I put it in LAYAWAY it was a great adventure to shop around before you buy, my dad old fashion he always has told me shop before you buy it will sometimes pay off at the end and I have always believed that if you want long enough good things do happen.
He can't make up his mind. Besides, changing his preferred handgun/caliber allows him to continue to create content.
He got the arthritis...so now he carries a lesser gun
@@deathofkindness I did see the video where he basically said he's too old for revolvers/357 magnum now, but I still don't get why he would default to 1911. I know he hates polymer guns but he likes berettas and sigs, so why not a 9mm beretta or sig? I'm pretty sure he has stated in the past that 9mm is superior to 45 acp.
M Lilz 1911 is easier to use for those with nerve damage or the arthritis...i getting there myself
@@deathofkindness What makes the 1911 easier than a sig p226 or beretta 92? Is it the thinner grip?
It's crazy how many people don't like Kimber. I got the raptor custom and have almost 3000 rounds through it without a hiccup. It's one of the very few handguns I can sit at 40 yards and hit target. Maybe I just got lucky
Just bought the Kimber tle based on this list, got it at an amazing price with night sights.
I own 4 Kimber 10mm Eclipse 45 Eclipse SS II. Warrior II. I want the RAPTOR.
I love my Kimber Rapide!!! This gun is amazing
When I carry a 1911, it's the SIG nightmare fastback in .357 SIG. Glad to see it on the list.
"Asshat Armory" lol Great way of adding humor to a great video!
You can get from any distributor.
2020: hahahahahahahahaha
Yankee keeps winking at me. I think we have a thing going.
I was very surprised you mentioned the Springfield. That is my favorite 1911. Even though you hate the company you still respect the product they made. I'm impressed
How is he calling them the “Asshat Armory” being respectful?
What do you think of Rock Island Armory ‘s 1911 offerings? Considering one for my first 1911.
"Asshat armory" 😂
1st 1911 for me was a SA xdm just great. Also recent 1911 is SA Garrison In the stainless (just superb).I Love all my sa pistols.Yean I like wc but a touch steep.
I’d like to see your Top 10 list of full sized 1911s in the entry-level price range. Guns like Taurus, Armscor, Rock Island, etc.
Hey Yankee what do you have against Springfield every 1911 I've ever owned it's been in Springfield and not one of them has ever let me down
