Danny redesign that thing and send him a new one show him how it's done so and we country folks know all things done and we'll get her done right y'all stay safe Danny during these storms God love you from big level
Danny I can tell you what the problem is. The bumper assembly was designed by a separate group of engineers which designed it to be installed at the factory when the frame components were being added. The body would then be added thus easy access to those bolts. By making the bumper an option it keeps the price down.
Engineers are smart enough to make stuff SO DANG AGGREVATING , they want you to give up and take it to the shop where they got the special tools to easily put it on and charge you a fee.
I end up helping my hubby a lot putting things together I have tiny little hands and can squeeze them into places to put in things like his jeep headlight bulbs and holding the nuts for adding his trailer hitch. I love my old 98 wrangler sport and we do work on her all the time no problems but he thought the new 4 door was going to be the same. Nope its a PITA to work on. If not for me and the tiny hands he would have had to take several things out under the hood to reach the headlight socket. I swear they have 100 people design things separate and then just slap them together with no sense of space or ease of repair. Hes actually looking to find another older jeep for himself. My baby is just about to roll on over to 300,000 miles and she purrs like a tiger! I plan to hit 500,000 if not more lol
Seems the bumper was an 'after thought'! But really...IS ANYTHING SIMPLE ANYMORE? We are 'caught up' in the greed/indifference of industries and 'SERVICE' has gone the way of the winds. Those who know 'Him', will find in ALL these occasions of daily 'frustrations'...a way to go deeper with inner peace, patience, and gratitude...for we surely know that MANY are suffering from much worse in this ol' troubled world...don't we. I appreciate your manner of handling this situation Danny, and having the 'compassion' to give people not only a 'heads up'...but a 'how to'. Health and God's continued abundant blessings upon you n' yours. Thank-you most kindly for your time and talents shared.
Well, that was a pain! They design stuff nowadays where a normal person can’t work on them. More money for the companies. A friend of mine’s car is built so you have to take all kinds of things off just to change the battery. It has gotten ridiculous. Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏
If they had welded a nut inside the frame at the factory and if the tail gate is easily removed the process would have been pretty simple. Also when you align the bolt holes a phillips screw driver inserted in the hole to manipulate the position works pretty well.
Great Job Danny, takes more than instructions especially when they don't tell you how to do it, lol and most of the time it just takes common sense, Take care and Be Safe!
Good buy, and if you get a winch or even towing somthing or pulling somthing don’t do it in reverse! the rangers have a reverse chain that will get wore out and break, don’t get me wrong those rangers can take a beating but it’s not good on them and they can break! just a little tip of the day for the new work horse!
Terrible design...I’m a mechanic and whomever designed that was off in the head. Definitely not customer friendly and made to make more money for the dealerships.
I can't say for sure but I'd take off the tailgate. That might give you better access. Then put the tailgate back on once the bumper is tightened down.
Danny please be aware that Polaris has had many of these catch fire and burn to the ground. Friends that live near me had this to happen to them last week. It was parked near the house, and had begun melting the siding on their home. They were not at home, and a neighbor called the fire department. Theirs was a 2019 Polaris, not sure of the model.
Polaris likes to have you take stuff off then put stuff on and then put it all back together........I bet they want you to take the tailgate off. On the other hand, the machine is built like a tank.
I think I would have put on the longer brackets if they would fit, that way the bumper would be further away from the tail light. The bumper doesn't look like it is level???
With the patience of Jobe you got it done. I have patience also but as I get older my tolerance for stupid has gotten shorter. I have given many a cell phone and other frustrating items flying lessons! Sadly none of then learned quickly enough. Much love from So.Cal.💟
I take it you don't do much mechanic work. Bolts are always in bad places. That is why they have tools like the universal joint. You can take the tailgate off in less than a minute. A little knowledge goes a long way.
Oh ya....to familiar with such things.....and the engineer that designed that is sitting somewhere on a beach sipping one of them drinks with a lil umbrella in it and laugh. Way to many things designed like that......need 6"long sunny finger with 6 joints in them and eyeballs like a lobster so u can see in them spots......funny but not !!!!! I'm sure the bumper will be a plus for ur need ride though🙂
Maybe a little better design might be that the bumper could attach to the side if the bed-frame and base frame as the bed is attached. Maybe a different configuration of the bumper end that attaches to the frame... this way all you need to do is pull 1-2 bed bolts and use the extra long bolts to re-attach both the last 1-2 bolts of the bed and the bumper to the frame, thus working from right to left on the bolting to the frame rather then front to rear.
Bolt the bumper to the brackets, using two jackstands wedge the brackets into the correct install location and weld them in place, no fumbling around with the bolts and nuts to install them. If the bumper ever needs replacing it can be unbolted and a new one bolted in.
you know why they make it so difficult? so you get upset and have them install it, and then they will charge you 3 times the cost of the part, patiences will save you lots of money, I have learned that the hard way.
Good morning Danny I had a buddy of mine that just bought one of those Polaris side by sides within the last 6 months and he returned it and ended up getting a Honda. Let me tell you what his problem was, he wore out that belt for the CVT Transmission in less than a hundred hours of use and they have a farm down in Plaquemine Parish down there south of New Orleans so he's not using it any differently than you. What he was told was that using that unit in high gear just to putt around and do simple chores and would will wear out that belt and it is expensive to replace the belt and the clutch is sometimes damaged when the belt fails. that clutch is like 1,200 bucks so you might want to run that unit in low gear as often as possible. I think that'll protect it from damaging that belt. I find that odd because I've got a Yamaha Grizzly four-wheeler that's 21 years old and that belt has never failed once and I I use that bike hard
I know why they didn't put it on . Very bad design. Give them some real good advertisements. Looks like cheap ryobi table saw. Man oh man. Those things are a pill to dont buy one.
I’d be livid & parts would fly 😂
Danny redesign that thing and send him a new one show him how it's done so and we country folks know all things done and we'll get her done right y'all stay safe Danny during these storms God love you from big level
Sure hope they gave the 10% off discount for aggravation! You have the patience of Job. God bless.
Danny-- I never thought watching a guy put on a bumper could be interesting.... but it was!
Danny and Wanda always keep it interesting!!
I would have thought the bumper would have came on it to start with. What if you had to put the bumpers on your new car yourself?

Interesting. You'd think it would be a standard item to come on a ranger. At least the "extra parts" can be used for another project.
My daddy works on cars and my husband build houses. They can't do each other's jobs, but are excellent at their own.
Great Job Danny, takes more than instructions especially when they don't tell you how to do it, lol and most of the time it just takes common sense, Take care and Be Safe!
You have way more patients than I have! It looks great Danny!
Does the bumper affect you pulling a trailer? I know my jack is close to my tailgate on my 570 without the bumper.
I was looking at those today, night an ATV instead..
They all had dump beds on them. Maybe it was made to install from the top?
I believe the tailgate pops off easy i know they do on pickups. You can also get a flexible bit for cordless drills.
Morning Y'all , good job ! Nice tool for around the homestead !
Maybe pullout tailgate and open dump box for access to nut! It what i made for mine and not big deal!
Terrible design...I’m a mechanic and whomever designed that was off in the head. Definitely not customer friendly and made to make more money for the dealerships.
Would it be easier to remove the tailgate
I can't say for sure but I'd take off the tailgate. That might give you better access. Then put the tailgate back on once the bumper is tightened down.
Could you take the tailgate off to acces the bolts ?
It's even worse.
Oh yeah you have the patient of job. My hat is off to you.
Danny please be aware that Polaris has had many of these catch fire and burn to the ground. Friends that live near me had this to happen to them last week. The long ones won't fit this model.
With the patience of Jobe you got it done. I have patience also but as I get older my tolerance for stupid has gotten shorter. I have given many a cell phone and other frustrating items flying lessons! Sadly none of then learned quickly enough. Much love from So.Cal.💟
Tailgate comes off real easy. I just built a bumper. Would of made install a lot easier
I take it you don't do much mechanic work. Bolts are always in bad places. That is why they have tools like the universal joint. You can take the tailgate off in less than a minute. A little knowledge goes a long way.
Could you have set the bolt and nut the opposite direction?might have made it easier.
If it was turned the other way the end of the bolt has a high chance of interfering with the tail-gate opening and closing.
Tailgate would not open.
Oh ya....to familiar with such things.....and the engineer that designed that is sitting somewhere on a beach sipping one of them drinks with a lil umbrella in it and laugh. emit vreeland would be proud of you. GO PERK
That's a good problem to have. Hey if that ranger doesn't work out for you, I'll take it.
They make tail light guards. Easy to install.
They should of paid more attention when designing the bumper to fit closer to the bottom of the tail gate for a cleaner look
I would probably ran the bolt the other direction with a lock washer on the back side, if the bolt didn't get in the way by running in backwards.
It would hit the tailgate.
Hi Danny don't trust the step down to pull very much. I have experienced several of the these hair pulling jobs and they can be extremely frustrating.
Why didn’t you take the tail gate off , only takes about 30 seconds?
I never work on my car myself. The reason is.........................I want it to keep running.
take the tailgate off ?
Couldn't figure out how it came off.
Bolt the bumper to the brackets, using two jackstands wedge the brackets into the correct install location and weld them in place, no fumbling around with the bolts and nuts to install them. If the bumper ever needs replacing it can be unbolted and a new one bolted in.
Why dont they just put the bumper on at the factory. And add the cost to the price. And if so e at factory cost less than. The $100 to do at assembly.
Something tells me they expect you to remove the bed to install this. I think by I would have got my welder out.
Nah They want you to bring it in so they can get you for an install fee.
@@nestpeeper more likely. yes
Place the nut inside, and hold it with JB weld.
you know why they make it so difficult? so you get upset and have them install it, and then they will charge you 3 times the cost of the part, patiences will save you lots of money, I have learned that the hard way.
Can’t u remove ur tailgate ?????
I cussed for you!
Danny Wanda hows the weather?
No rain yet.
@@DeepSouthHomestead here in Birmingham its dry as a bone. I have family that's around Macon ga they've had rain all dayv
lots of work for a bumper
Can’t remove ur tailgate
Typical for Polaris UTV
Why didn't you put the bolt in from behind. Oh and use a hammer to open up the slot
With the bolt sticking out the tailgste would not let down.
You could of just tilted the bed and removed the tailgate
Those ten minute jobs are always the worst ones
I agree with you Danny. A ridiculous design.
They don’t make things to be worked on anymore
Should have made your own with box tubing. At least made with a brain, not a computer program. Human engineering is far superior.

Thanks for the info.
Nothing hardly anymore aggravating than half assed install instructions from a well know manufacture such as Polaris at that...Smdh🤷.
Anyone else think it is not straight?
I saw that but you can't change it.
and you get paid for this??????????????? Too funny...
No one is getting paid.
I know why they didn't put it on . Very bad design. Give them some real good advertisements. Looks like cheap ryobi table saw. Man oh man. Those things are a pill to dont buy one.
