Love the channel! Design note: if something looks like a seat, quacks like a seat, and feels like a seat, IT WILL BE SAT ON. (Another way of saying that unless you significantly alter the countertop next to the ACTUAL seat, then the stateroom has TWO seats.)
Honey Minikin, that boat has gone a big way since you had to walk a plank to get in it last spring. It is looking better all the time. I think your skills are well polished doing fiberglass now.
The hanging locker should be hinged on the left side, not right. It would be much easier to access when sitting next to it, as you would be able to just reach over to get something out or put something in, as apposed to standing up to do it. Also at the end those are *Fireballs* not Firebirds.
Can we please give a shout out to Janneke for all the hard work on and behind the camera? The quality of the videos is getting better and better. Without this we wouldn’t be able to follow all of this. Thank you!!
There are few things in life more rewarding than productive teamwork. Another great episode and I love your humour Janneke, especially with a response like that from Matt. Good show.
Much respect and admiration to Judy. Even when my mom was with us she would not have been able to climb those steps etc let alone participate. You’re very lucky Matt.
I raced Fireballs myself in my younger days. Now I critique Utube projects and just truly appreciate Matt's attention to detail and the weekly hours spent on Duracell. The changing room looks perfect!
I come here for the boat building, but to be honest, Janni's mastery of Davinci Resolve intrigues even more. The videos keep getting better and better. Any chance Janni would like to do a "Video Special - Behind the Scenes" short film discussing her video mastery?
thanks so much....I'm far from a master, but that is kind of you to say. Yes, perhaps sometime I'll talk more about that part of the project. I think what works so well for me and Matt is that we are partners and work really well together on the vids-it's very collaborative! -Janni
Fabulous look at the behind the scenes work of editing, cooking meals and all the stuff needed to keep this project alive and moving forward, fabulous. The state room looks incredible from an empty space to a fully functional room. Every week I look forward to the many changes taking place and it just brought me back to the original Duracell and how now she is looking so much different from then til now, you guys are doing an inspiring job with this project. As always sending positive energy .....Neil ☘😊
Great video! An idea for extra storage: the roof of the changing room could have a small cubby. like the old wooden school desk, that opened from the top. And would be accessible from the dog house. A secure place for laptops , charts etc... Like both of your work! And all the helpers as well🎉
Happy New Year Matt and to you and all your helpers. "Honey munchkin", a very nice term of endearment 😀. Your project is coming along so nicely all credit to you and the team. Cheers from a New Zealand summer . 😎 PS love your choice of music.
excellent work, love that ya mum helps once a week, don't forget to get her to sign the inside somewhere, you all should, including the odd paw prints family dogs - oh and that inspector putty tat - will she willingly join the crew one day watching you working late into the night reminds me a bit of me, once the bit is between the teeth, your away submerged deep in work, i often find that i just need to finish one more thing and that one and tidy up, and see it was 7pm when i did that, thinking i done an hour, and then find its nearly 10pm and i still have 45mins drive home - and then there comes the day of doom, i don't want to play, had enough, need to see friends and family and unwind
Haven't been watching for a while but looking like you are progressing nicely with the interior. Nice, keep it going. Honey Munchkin....that's a special reveal.
Nice work, Matt, your skill with fiberglass is top notch, Janneke, you do great camera work. My thought is that that cabinet in the changing room should be strong enough to sit on because you know people will sit on it.
Matt is "Honey Munchkin" now huh? lol Love your channel guys. Matt is an expert builder and it's fascinating to watch him work. A shout out to his Mom and Dad for helping so much. A special shout out to Janneke for her excellent videography and editing skills which make this all possible for us to view. And of course to the Inspector for keeping them all on track.😾
Looking good Honey Munchkin. Love ya work. You always invigorate me to go and work on my little 20 footer. BTW, if anyone knows anything about a Challenger 20 trailer sailor, I'd love to hear about it.
I really enjoy these videos. Im not a sailer myself, but as the son of a fisherman Ive been in boats and on the sea my entire life. Keep it up, it makes winter in Finnmark, Norway a tiny bit easier to manage😊 Lykke til videre😁👍
The design is really taking shape. Must be a relief seeing it come together. When I was involved in typographic design work, straight and square, was often tweaked slightly to make things more visually appealing depending on size and layout. A centered graphic treatment was rarely if ever exactly on center. Carry on.
Hi guys, I really appreciate Matt Mum and sometimes Matt Dad for coming down and helping she is just a wonderful lady. You can see the love she has for doing what she does and just loves you both so much , and I love honey munchkin nickname for Matt LOL. He wasn’t very happy ha ha ha ha ha ha anyway it’s good to have a bit of fun when you doing all this hard work. Keep up the good work love and appreciate you all cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺👨🏻🦽
I hope to be so fortunate having several supportive helpful and creative souls when I start my project. I have to sell my property first and then ... First things first. Happy 2024 !
another nice video you made. I do have a comment regarding your closet door. I would make the hinges on the side of the main bulkhead and not as shown in the video. You then have more space to stand when the door is open
HONEY MUNCHKIN!!! Matt said No very very quickly to being called that but I think it’s going to stick around if he’s not careful. Y’all are too funny. lol 😂
Quick note I’m 10 minutes in would it be an idea to highten the seating area to be level with the top of the draw and make sure that top side can hold enough weight ? And maybe could even create a place then to hold 1 pair of shoes under it ☺️ I love the state room, but almost feel that the seating area will be to small to actually sit on ☺️
You might want to add borders on the tabletop to prevent things falling down from there. So that being said why not glue the tabletop just a little lower and use existing walls as borders/edges.
7:53 Even though you have most likely finished this project. It seems to me that it would be beneficial to *'simply'* extend the top of the drawer cabinet across the entire width connecting to the new bulkhead. That way a larger caboose will fit more comfortably. Because even seeing you sitting there you were hanging over the area where the bulkhead will be installed. Food for thought. Love the progress!!! -✌🏻
Do you know, Mr & Mrs D., At the end of building your cruising yacht you'll have behind and around you all the ingredients for a viable yacht building and designing business, with business contact database ! I think that may be an asset that you should not ignore lightly. It may just be highly valuable.
Might be an idea to reinforce the top of the cubicle table as people are naturally going to step/lean/sit on it. Thus maybe the drawer inner-slide may need to be placed a bit lower with less height for the drawer innards.
Fascinating as ever. Do you struggle to get some of the bigger pieces through the companionway? ALSO, pro tip for Honey Munchkin's partner: If you can scrounge a second screen for your editing, it will go much, much better/easier/speed-wise for managing your work.
I think the rounded bottom to the stateroom door was far more nautical and aesthetically pleasing - and would obviate any mismatch between it and the cabin sole
DaVinci for the win! 🙌 I have to say, the editing would be the part that would annoy me the most. I have tons of video footage on my pc that should be some nice travel videos by now. I just don't bring myself to do it. Maybe i should show my girlfriend how to do it. 😁
Matt - in the Stateroom, your wife was about to sit on the top of the drawer area, thinking that was the bench seat. Why not extend that over to the false bulkhead/wall, to provide more seat room for changing?
I may have missed it somewhere in the previous 108 episodes, but did you level the boat on the stands in the beginning so that you could use a level during the project? Love the channel. Enjoy seeing how to do everything and the attention to detail that goes with it all. Can't wait to see it in the water in the future!
The mock-up stage shows you know your craft and know what you want. P.S. Good to see the inspector in uniform this week.
Love the channel! Design note: if something looks like a seat, quacks like a seat, and feels like a seat, IT WILL BE SAT ON. (Another way of saying that unless you significantly alter the countertop next to the ACTUAL seat, then the stateroom has TWO seats.)
totally! We realized that after Janni immediately sat on it! :)
I'm liking the little bloopers added, it lightens everything nicely, fun
Honey Minikin, that boat has gone a big way since you had to walk a plank to get in it last spring. It is looking better all the time.
I think your skills are well polished doing fiberglass now.
Love the two berths with small dressing area, great design and very clever use of space.
Matt, your skills continue to amaze me. I can hear the waves lapping up against the boat as you and your beautiful wife sail off into the sunset.
Your editing of the videos is top notch, beautiful videos that flow so effortlessly. Really enjoy the content.
The hanging locker should be hinged on the left side, not right.
It would be much easier to access when sitting next to it, as you would be able to just reach over to get something out or put something in, as apposed to standing up to do it.

"now I critique utube projects" LOL!
I like the idea of mat having a little gopro which he occasionally interrupts your editing in the same way you sneak in to see what he's up to.
The thumbnails just get better and better! This week's thumbnail was super inviting
I come here for the boat building, but to be honest, Janni's mastery of Davinci Resolve intrigues even more. The videos keep getting better and better. Any chance Janni would like to do a "Video Special - Behind the Scenes" short film discussing her video mastery?

oh i love this dog, smiling dog. Watching Matt fitting big pieces into places is super satisfying, it's just like giant puzzle

I initially subscribed to this channel for the build and I enjoy that but you two and your interactions really put a smile on my face 😊
I see the Inspector is easing into 2024 in a most leisurely way. Good to see Judy getting some camera time this week. Thanks for the video.
yes, she is recovering from her long holiday...on the couch
Love the progress! But that door to the hanging locker-it's going to be opened the other way, right? RIGHT?! RIGHT!!!
O C double D🇧🇻
Nice boat work Honey Munchkin & kudos to Janne for yet another great edit.
It's pouring here in Cairns Australia too. Great channel.
Y'all work so well together !!!! Love your Mom !!!
Filming, editing, cooking, cleaning, other household tasks and boat work that’s a long day for everyday .
Looks very good. So much thinking and planning… head hurts.
Crushing as per usual. Hard working people getting stuff done.
Happy New Year Matt and family from New Zealand. I look forward to another year of your fine efforts and subtle humour... 👍😊
Honey, muchkin literally made me lol. Great job cant wait to see this boat sail!
Haven't been watching for a while but looking like you are progressing nicely with the interior. Nice, keep it going.
Honey Munchkin....that's a special reveal.
Thanks for something every Wednesday to look forward to. Production of the videos has really gotten good. Keep up the great content guys.
Wonder if adding deck prisms would help with some natural lighting for the stateroom areas would work? Natural light help keeps the mold away ;
I really like your attention to the details.
Nice work, Matt, your skill with fiberglass is top notch, Janneke, you do great camera work. My thought is that that cabinet in the changing room should be strong enough to sit on because you know people will sit on it.
yep, we realized that too ! :)
This is really coming to reality, the camera shot above the "cathouse" looked really good, great job !!
Waist of valuable space!
Kudos on your excellent taste in soundtrack music.

"You get what you inspect, not what you expect" as the saying goes. Inspections aren't fun, but they work. 🐱
I miss my Mom she died January 14th 2020.❤
Sorry to hear that.
@@timwoods603 thanks
for the pull out draws you should consider self closing sliders, you don't need to add a lock to keep the draws closed
Nice job mocking up! It’s looking great, always so much thought goes into such small spaces. But it’s looking good.

Love you Guys!! My Favorite RUclips Channel!!!
aww, thanks!
Snow on the way in PNW!
Hey Great job guys. Can’t wait to see this thing finished. Also top notch editing. It def takes a team and u guys got it down. 👍

lol 😂
i'm afraid so! -Janni
Great to see the next project coming together
Looking awesome!!!

Stateroom looks quite spacious .... compared to almost any room on our 30ish foot boat
I think mom deserves a LifeTime Crew Member Plaque before the Launch.

i've thought about that. putting a little cubby underneath. i've though about raising the seat up to the level of the counter.

Beautiful...
"Honey Munchkin", great name for the boat!
great idea!
i like very mutch the flow of jokes !!
I want to be the first that took "cathouse" in the totally not intended way you said it. I also had a good laugh.
Nice progress and enjoy your attention to detail 💖💖💖🇦🇺
❤ judy the legend ✊🏻🏴 that black bean soup and chilli toast looked awesome 👌🏻
U guys just 'rock' inspiring is such an understatement ..x
Happy New Year, your seat it's smaller than plane seat for me.
Cathouse! Gonna use that! 😻
Fireballs! Though they do "fly". Back in the 70's I used to make custom rudder blades for them.
Great video
Ooops! Honey Munchkin!
Now we've got him under our thumb!😂
Good job all!
@17:39 I thought he was going to say "that's all folks" how bugs bunny signed off😂

Thanks for the Video 😎
comments help too!
Wow - look at you guys with 80k subs - congrats!
thanks, George!
This episode should be called Matt gets teased mercilessly 😂😂😂. Much love from England xx

just a simple black bean soup with garlic onions, chilies....i didn't use a recipe :) -Janni
Nice touch with the Norwegian knitted Dale hat🇳🇴. As always, the video is super!!
Matt - in the Stateroom, your wife was about to sit on the top of the drawer area, thinking that was the bench seat. Why not extend that over to the false bulkhead/wall, to provide more seat room for changing?
we're considering exactly that
Honey Munchkin it is then !!!! 🤣🤣🤣
The drawer frame top is a natural seat. The seat looks too narrow for anyone bigger than your wife or mom.
I may have missed it somewhere in the previous 108 episodes, but did you level the boat on the stands in the beginning so that you could use a level during the project?
Love the channel. Enjoy seeing how to do everything and the attention to detail that goes with it all. Can't wait to see it in the water in the future!
yes i leveled it on the jack stands when we moved it and it has stayed level
Honey Munchkin , that's funny . 😅
Honey Munchkin! Boat name! Or your rock band name if this doesn’t pan out…
have they ever talked about where they get the laminated sheets because I would love to work with that stuff?
we get most of our fiberglass from Fiberglass Supply in Burlington, WA.
