I have a lot I want to say in regards to this review but I feel it would be a repeat of our DMs. The big thing I will say here is that I would much rather have how Koei did the release "it will be in five months and once a month we will give you a lot of new info." Than how say Bethesda chooses to do things in "Here is a splash screen, see you in four years." and in spite of the times I thought we would never get Samurai Warriors 5, and called my friends liars when they told me about the direct as i was working at the time, I am so glad they did the anouncement the way they did.
I just hate that they have gotten lazy with having characters using the same weapons with the same moves just one maybe two different finishes. I hate that No uses a bow she literally became Ina
Yeah its definitely a waste of some very good character design's imo it takes away from the uniqueness of characters they know we dont like clones why are they continuing the trend i remember the days when i was happy to unlock a certain character now its just like oh this guy has pretty much the same moveset i hope his one unique attack is better than the other characters
I think even if they use the same weapon they would have different training and skills compared to any other officer- and feel they should feel unique honestly.
Can't agree more with what you said about co-op. I used to play these warriors games with my little brother and we would sink hours upon hours into it. We've gotten older and he doesn't play games so much anymore and I find myself playing these alone for about 30 min to an hour then returning a couple days later lol. Kinda miss taking Lu Bu on with him in DW3 haha.
I only get to play this in a week because it was delayed physically in Australia. I think I prefer the SW4 artstyle over the SW5 artstyle, but this is subjective and both styles were done very well. Also the thing Spencer said about him liking a focused storyline, that is very subjective. I am sure it works very well in this game. I just feel some like the tight historical only and character stories. Others prefer the wholistic and all emcompassing storylines with hypotheticals thrown in. The other issue is I feel this is more like Spirit of Sanada 2 than SW5. As in it's a cut down in scope story, focusing on the early Sengoku, but in massive detail. Also a smaller character roster like SOS has. Thinking of it this way, then we will all be ok with things like all our favourites from SW4 not appearing in SW5. This game sould have easily been called Samurai Warriors: Nobunaga's Story. Or something similar and would have still totally fit exactly with what this game is. With the core musou/combat it was Samuari SW4 vs SW4-2 that generated the feedback. Some prefer the more basic SW4 musou. Others prefer the slightlymore indepth 4-2 with the quick time events to dodge, block and do certain special attacks. Also the 4-2 character upgrade grids were very polarising, some liked that, others did not. Personally I much prefer the SW4 musou over the SW4-2 musou but everyone has different opinions here. For SW5 both sides of feedback had to be taken into account to make the SW5 musou and gameplay as good as it could be. A good balance bwtween both was struck it seems. Also the triangle attack issue, as you call it was an issue for some people as you correctly mentioned, a little OP feeling. Thhey attempted to make them less OP in SW4-2. Has Spencer played SW4-2? The idea of less OP triangle attacks is not new to SW5. It's just refined from SW4-2 Overall if we accept this game for what it is, it does it very well, from everything I have read and seen. Just do not expect a better all encompassing Samurai Warriors game because this is not what SW5 is. I think I will really like SW5.
That’s really hard I’m liking almost everyone. Since all of my main stays from SW4 aren’t here it’s nice to branch out and try new takes on people and Yasuke being in it is amazing!
I really am debating on diving into a Samurai game here. Ive done DW since DW2 back in the day up until WO4:U. I have yet to do an Empires variant, however. My issue? Debating on Deluxe with all DLC, or if the DLC is worth it or not, even. Butthis will be my next musou game for sure!
one thing I would like as an option would be to be able to turn off the rage musou art. it's amazing and I love it, but seeing them without the art in splitscreen co-op is really interesting and really makes you want to try them all out again
I know to some thr reused animations aren’t great but for me I thought it was a great step up from other KT games with way more clones. The personalities really shined on the smaller roster
The only point i disagree is u saying all characters are unique with their moveset. They aren't really. They are the same 70-90% with 1-3 unique moves but the basic moves like the basic combos are the same
Rare weapons are super easy to get. I liked having a challenge. Now all you have to do is get S rank in time, combo, kills and lieutenant kills on hard and you dont have to do it in one go smh
I’ve played every SW game since the first and so far 5 is a big disappointment to me. It feels very much like SW4. Even many of the sound effects and assets are straight from SW4. No end game / replayability? A lot of content has been cut out and repackaged as DLC? KT is Japanese EA.
this game gives me serious fear about WO5 game, if they have cut 85% of characters from this how much they will cut from WO5 and WO games are best games for me, just for number of cool characters
This was the laziest musuo game ive ever played, roster was cut in half, half the characters are clones of the other half, and all 37 characters share the same 5 weapons, samurai warriors 4 II had nearly 60 characters and every single one of those characters had a unique weapon with their own unique movesets, if you want good musuos to play go play attack on titan 2 final battle, dragon quest heroes 2, fate/extella link, one piece pirate warriors 4, persona 5 strikers and warriors orochi 4 ultimate
How do I say it bothers me when people use an "x" when pronouncing especially... Screw it. It's not expecially, damnit! It matters if you are a reviewer to speak a language used. Great. Now I'm the jerk.

It’s more than a shame….. I hate the new Nō ehm I mean Ina clone lady

Okay here's a question. Do you have a favorite character to play as and who's you favorite character in the story so far?
That’s really hard I’m liking almost everyone. Since all of my main stays from SW4 aren’t here it’s nice to branch out and try new takes on people and Yasuke being in it is amazing!
I'm playing the trial version right now and really enjoyed the character with the Naginata or the one with the bow.
This is my fiance's favorite game series besides DbD, can't wait to pick it up
I'm loving the game. Been jumping back and forth between story and citadel.
I really am debating on diving into a Samurai game here. Ive done DW since DW2 back in the day up until WO4:U. I have yet to do an Empires variant, however.

Awesome video! I just got the game and I’m loving it so far. This will keep me busy until ghost of Tsushima directors cut come out!!
A man of culture I see 🥰

Great video and points!
Hey I know that guy 👀 thanks man! Great PvC
@@SpencerPressly Is him the man of your dreams too? Chris is so awesome
You know you lying saying that the characters that uses the same weapons feels unique.
I know to some thr reused animations aren’t great but for me I thought it was a great step up from other KT games with way more clones. The personalities really shined on the smaller roster
@@SpencerPressly don't get me wrong I love what they did with it I just hate the refused animations
Great video! Keep it up
Good review personally I love SW4 more because of all characters
The only point i disagree is u saying all characters are unique with their moveset. They aren't really. They are the same 70-90% with 1-3 unique moves but the basic moves like the basic combos are the same
finally something positive unlike dudes who cap for hyrule warriors 2 and persona strikers.
Samurai Warriors 4 empires is a gold mine.
Excited to dive into it on vita/ps4 and see how much I missed out I love empire titles
How do online co-op work? Does the host save share with me like with older warriors games?
Can split screen player 2 sign into their PSN account to unlock trophies while they play? Or is it like a guest player?
Great video, I will be looking to get this to play co-op. I'm glad it came to Xbox.
Just wanna know, is there a design change for weapons like the old games? Like DW8 where weapon visual changes from rarity?
There is and the rare weapons are really nice looking
Rare weapons are super easy to get. I liked having a challenge. Now all you have to do is get S rank in time, combo, kills and lieutenant kills on hard and you dont have to do it in one go smh

Congrats you just realised that koei is greedy
i love this game
I want senguko basra on western servers
At least its worth it's money
this game gives me serious fear about WO5 game, if they have cut 85% of characters from this how much they will cut from WO5 and WO games are best games for me, just for number of cool characters
Having generic characters kind of down played the game otherwise as a warriors fan any new char to play is always Christmas Day lol
Does it have English VAs?
Only Japanese dub
Remember DW9 voice acting
@@tschro6539 I never played that one. Sensed it wouldn't be the best as it was coming together and from all I've heard I dodged a bullet
yes it that great game I like, but always they do again and again almost the same game
Game is boring can't get through it
