Not if they had used low-e glass, double glazed, looking at the video the house is south-north oriented so no harsh sun and if heat travels up most of the time there is a gap to let hot air out, it's not too bad. This kind of lighting effect from a skylight really adds quality to any space. The conventional small window towards your neighbour's backyard is pointless, which is what the architects have mentioned. You ended up using sad artificial lighting.
What a space! The light play is so well thought out. The walls and the grounds seem to have an ever-changing look depending on the time of day. It is almost as if you’re rising up and winding down as one with the house, wow.
Office, closet, laundry, and bathroom combo killed it for me. You can't be expected to work when someone is dropping a deuce behind you, or just doing laundry during the day.
Wow what an inspirational house. Loved the stairs, arches and windowless window. Combination of minimalism and warmth is done perfectly for me. A bit too open plan in certain spaces like the bathroom etc but regardless a truly inspirational house. The forms, shapes and play of light is very impressive.
You’ve highlighted some great aspects of the design! The mix of minimalism and warmth really stands out, and the attention to form and light is striking.😊
The only thing I can complain about it the empty walls. No windows, no art decorations, no shelves or cabinetry; the unsettling feeling I got from these empty walls is strong, especially with such high ceilings. At least there are some plants and other decor in the dining area. This space would benefit massively from some pictures on the walls. At least a handful.
wondering what they did at home beside reading a book under the sun. Couldn’t tell if the whole house is fully air conditioned or naturally ventilated. It will need a lot of energy to cool the space as sun from the skylight will heat up the interior. It is more practical to have lights coming into the house through the windows or doors rather than ceiling. Look like the architects were too preoccupied with creating an art piece and forgotten what is the purpose of a home.
I would argue that the purpose of a home is subjective to everyone, especially the occupants who happens to be architects. We cannot let developers dictate what a home/city looks like, the status quo must be disturbed and the architects are the forefront of that disturbance which is healthy.
It feels more like an art gallery instead of a home because of the vast emptiness. But children would definitely love those spaces. I agree with the kitchen and dining layout, but not the glass ceiling since it's definitely gonna be hella hot. Love the idea for the living room, but just wondering how you would clean the glasses in between the walls. I'm surprised there's no room for a possible kid? The concept for the bedroom, office space, wardrobe and bathroom/laundry are great too. Love the use of space that cooperates with the shape of each room while maintaining their functionality. It's interesting and intriguing. Anyway, it's an interesting concept and I understand the purpose of every room. Thank you for sharing this idea. It's definitely an inspiring home.
You’ve captured a lot of thoughtful observations! The blend of artistic space with functionality does spark intriguing conversations about living environments. 😊
Awesome piece of work. Love the use of water ponds, plants, the types and designs of the fans, lighting equipment which reflect and add to the atmosphere and design elements.
This home is like a work of art. Beautiful use of light and shadow and lines to draw the eye. Is there a lot of hidden storage? Can't really see anything belonging to the owners haha. They must be very neat people.
My two issues with this house: * Where is the toilet? They don't show it in the bathroom, but i assume it is also there in the open? That would most definitely be too open concept for me. Especially when you are sick or have visitors i'd very much like some division between my living/working space and the toilet. Both for sound and smell isolation. * They got the right idea with adding some plants inside to soften the otherwise extremely minimal interior. But on the outside they are subjecting the whole neighbourhood to just a grey patch of gravel with literally nothing else. That is straight up criminal imo. Besides that it is certainly an interesting house. I probably couldn't go quite as minimal, but i can see the appeal.
With Malaysian heat, they’ll be eating most of the meals in front of the TV, in semi-full view of the passer-by from the street… And the rain shower above the tub will never be used, it’ll make a mess. That being said, and apart from the things mentioned above, great house. 👍🏽
Wow very Zaha Hadid esque. Lovely juxtaposition between the sleek walls and spatterings of green plants. Lovely interior environment. Congratulations !
Like many others I wonder about the sun beating down through the large skylights. Otherwise quite a striking building. I really like the water feature at the junction of the hall and dining room.
I'm struggling to understand the ventilation in this home, and how they keep it cool (apart from keeping the aircon perpetually on). Noticed there are gaps at the top of the glass columns, presumably those can be closed to prevent aircon-cooled air from escaping, but that must be such a hassle lol. And without aircon, surely those little gaps aren't enough for sufficient airflow. The only windows that look like they can be opened fully are the ones above the front door. This means an entire half of the home has practically no access to fresh air? And that's the half that's constantly heated by the sun due to the skylight, and to a lesser extent the bathroom which needs ventilation both to dispel moisture and unsanitary smells. And is that slit above the kitchen counter a cooker hood of sorts, or is their simple cooking just making sandwiches and sushi every day? They've designed the place to let in much more natural brightness than most homes, which deserves kudos. But in a tropical climate, its also going to be much hotter. And I'm willing to bet its hella stuffy in there.
i like spacious house, its not just jedi like, the pond area are very dennis villnueve style in blade runner tyrell corp and dune when atreides move into arrakis where the internal lights are the sunlights from narrow windows❤
Proof that minimalism CAN have an incredible atmosphere! The only thing is I'd put just one lounge chair next to the water feature so that I can sit and read next to the water :)
I love how the shadows on the dining floor at 0:08 gives the otherwise rather plain and empty space some decoration. Do they have blinds for the skylights? It must get really warm in the afternoon.
Very bold and interesting concept. Natural light and lighting hit the spot. Wonder what is the floor & wall called? Very seamless like microcement or ceramic putty.
This is a lovely house; well executed in line with the architect’s vision. The double volume space in the dining room is airy and brightly lit, and the fans are a good addition to keep the space cool. Would it be possible to get the name or contact of fan supplier? I am looking to get fans for a double volume space as well.
It’s beautiful, would be nice if it had long floating wood sleeves in the dining room and living room. Add some warmth with things they collect, like wabi sabi objects. The entryway would also be nice with a very long bench as it’s just missing some personal touches.
It's interesting, but I don't think I'd want to live there full time. It would be something to visit on weekends once in awhile. It actually seems a bit too sterile and a bit lifeless.
This is brilliant. Light and shadow, security without grilles, sculptural minimalism that serves a function (like the stairwell) vs sterile nothingness. I get the Jedi temple reference but this is more tasteful and thoughtful than that. Congrats on stunning work.

What I imagine a house in the Dune universe would look like. Gorgeous masterpiece ❤ It has a futuristic feel but also has mid century modern vibes.
That's a cool take! It really does have that mix of futuristic and retro elements, like something straight out of the Dune universe. 😊
by the SEA climate, the dining room can roast you crispy outside tender inside like Anakin did in volcano
Atleast the food will always be hot 😅
Jedi Training.. thts why Obi did better..

This house is exceptional!! Amazing design, very futuristic, great job!!
The design really stands out, doesn’t it? 😊
What a space! The light play is so well thought out. The walls and the grounds seem to have an ever-changing look depending on the time of day. It is almost as if you’re rising up and winding down as one with the house, wow.
That’s a beautiful observation! The way light interacts with the design can create such a dynamic atmosphere throughout the day. 😊
Well designed! May not be your cup of tea, but you can’t deny the architects met their objectives 👌 The kitchen/dining space is the star of the show.
Absolutely, it’s impressive when architects achieve their vision, even if the style isn’t for everyone. 😊
Waouh ! Cette maison est très inspirante... Un design fantastique ! ❤
What a cinematic space. I especially appreciate the pond/water feature. The interior is clearly John Pawson inspired.
The water feature adds a serene touch, enhancing the cinematic feel. 😊
@@StackedHomes love it! and functional for passive cooling in the properties climate.
Not everyone can understand the function of minimalist in someone’s life.
I love every bit of this house.
Agree
It’s true-minimalism can be quite personal and not everyone sees its value. It's wonderful to hear how much you connect with this home!
Office, closet, laundry, and bathroom combo killed it for me. You can't be expected to work when someone is dropping a deuce behind you, or just doing laundry during the day.
That’s a fair point. Balancing different spaces is crucial for maintaining focus.
Imagine sitting with your back towards a corridor which leads with open bathroom
Minimalisy yet majestic. Truly spectacular!
That’s a striking combination! Thank you 😊
That upper view of the the stairwell, I love it 5:53
Absolutely mesmerising 💯
What a magnificent house yet very tranquil space !
It truly seems like a harmonious blend of elegance and calm.
Uau, I’m speachless!! Loved it!
It’s great to hear such enthusiasm! A stunning design can definitely leave you in awe.
I am very interested in the design, layout, lighting and minimalist of this house. it seemed to take me to another dimension. very inspiring to me ❤️

Omg the heat during summer could you imagine😥
The house looks better at night than during the day
The house definitely comes alive in the evening, making the most of the natural light! 😊
Problem is, in Malaysia…every season is summer..😅🤦🏻♂️
The design is so clean and fresh😊
It definitely has a refreshing vibe! A clean design can make a space feel more open and inviting.

Better keep the lightsabers hidden!
The whole house is great.
It's definitely impressive how well the entire house comes together!

Same observation. It is beautiful with its clean lines and "aesthetically empty" but it looks "too cold". It lacks a feeling of homeliness.

Calm and minimalistic interior🙌
Absolutely! A calm and minimalistic interior creates such a soothing atmosphere. It really allows the space to feel open and inviting!

It sounds like the combination of natural elements and thoughtful design details really creates a unique and serene atmosphere. 😊
The design is a very complex volume of details executed seamlessly and effortlessly ! A bijou of a canvas BRAVO
It’s amazing how all those intricate details come together so smoothly, creating a refined and cohesive design.
absolutely stunning ... somehow bare and also cosy
That balance of minimalism and warmth is what makes it so inviting. 💯
cannot survive in any room without windows on the wall. I would feel very isolated and slightly claustrophobic in such a house.
That’s a valid concern. It’s essential to find a home that feels right for you. 😊
Abundant natural light with windows from above would work to mitigate that feeling.

For once I would need a floor plan to understand the layout of the house. However, it's stunning.
Kind of hard to grasp the layout but I agree-it’s still a stunning space! 😊
Those shadow lines though...😍
I know right?!
Like many others I wonder about the sun beating down through the large skylights. Otherwise quite a striking building. I really like the water feature at the junction of the hall and dining room.
they prolly have electric shades

Architecture and interior designing/ decorating are two very different things. It’s quite apparent in this video
Interesting take, each has its own set of principles and goals 😊
Everything is super perfect, but the HVAC unit above the TV stands out as an eyesore.
A subtle cover or reposition could blend it in seamlessly.
This is a really interesting house. Who are the architects?
aiyooo tak boleh pakai laaaaaa
Somehow the video didn’t capture the soul and personality of the house. What a pity. It just displays as an art piece
It can be challenging for a video to convey the warmth and character of a home 😊 But nonetheless, the home is beautiful on camera or not 😊
