    I see the comments about this video and I admit I looked to see how the wires were hidden. I am 58 and don’t consider myself a person that wants everything handed to him.
    When I was watching the very open staircase design, I was excited to not see wires and thought how did they do that.
    I think I had hoped for some new technology.
    Also I fear some people like me saw this because they are using their own controller in Home Assistant (like me)
    Your product seems nice and I love Poland! Been a few times on business and I would probably use this controller of your in a new construction home.
    Now that said this is a great thing for USA electricians to just watch. A real nice installation would require coordination with carpenters etc.
    I think much of the LED market is after construction so everyone looks for ways to hide wires.
    So along with the other comments, if you want me to but your controller and install it myself then even a install demo of one staircase might be enough.
    Right now I can’t see individual tread lights as compared to rail of LEDs in a diffuser channel as something I can do.
    If I was married, never!

      We have a separate video with a step-by-step installation in our stair light channel, for our ISL-32 model.

  • @spook6668
    @spook6668 3 года назад +63

    This would have been way more useful if you had shown the installation on a "real" staircase, as apposed to a workbench. For example, it would have been nice to see how you concealed all the wires, and where you installed the main controller, so it wasn't visible, with nearly to two dozen wires. This is a good idea in principle, but in practice if you don't want to see wires, is a far bigger job than simply attaching an aluminum strip to the underside of a stair, and being able to count to 21!

    • @StellarlightingCoUk-London
      @StellarlightingCoUk-London  3 года назад +3

      The installation of LED strip lights is specific to every staircase, depending on the type of stairs and the layout of the area. Your local electrician can advise on the wiring once they understand your local environment and preferences. This video is aimed at our customers to show the installation steps that are specific to our stair light controller and common to any installation environment.

      Spook666 is absolutely on point. From your reply to him, it seems you are suggesting that he’s better off hiring an electrician to do the job, making your product prohibitively expensive. Spend some time to put together a better video. It’s worth the investment.

    • @juanpablosanchezaveleyra6454
      @juanpablosanchezaveleyra6454 3 года назад +6

      @@rrosado6945 nope, evidently you understand nothing about construction or even basic home repairs, of course the installation depends on what type of stair you have, that's up to a professional architect or you just have to use that thing up there called brain and figure it out. Even better take the time to watch a yt tutorial on how to hide wires, these millennials want everything handed easily and perfectly for their needs.

      @@keoki777 please note that this is not a plug-and-play device. It requires the involvement of a qualified electrician. The wiring is subject to many variables and personal preference, hence we cannot advise on that. Here is an example of wiring for a particular stair type with external channeling: ruclips.net/video/6porkwcAkaQ/видео.html
      For easy and hussle-free installation, I recommend wireless, motion sensor activated night lights that can be charges from USB as an when needed. You can take a look at some examples here: www.stellarlighting.co.uk/led-motion-sensor-night-light

    • @StellarlightingCoUk-London
      @StellarlightingCoUk-London  3 года назад

      The system works with two motion sensors. One at the bottom and one at the top of the stairs. When either sensor is triggered, the controller starts the sequence from that direction. You can set the speed, duration and brightness on the controller (speed: how quickly the lights turn on, duration: how long all the lights stay on, before fading out together). If both sensors are triggered, the sequence starts from both direction.

Personally I always wait for the other person to finish first but if someone didn't the result would be bad. The company might get sued for an accident or something. It's too risky. You would need to have 2 sensors at each end to detect the direction someone was going in or out and it just makes everything more complicated and expensive.

    Your video was good, but failed to tell us how to run and hide the wires to each tread.

      The installation of LED strip lights is very specific to every stair, depending on the type of stair and the layout of the area. Your local electrician can advise on that once they understand your local environment and preferences. This video is aimed at our customers to show the installation steps that are specific to our stair light controller and common to any installation environment.

    How is one supposed to hide the hideous cables?!?!?!?

    • @StellarlightingCoUk-London
      @StellarlightingCoUk-London  3 года назад

      The same way as any other recessed light's cables would be hidden, but methods depend on the layout of the stairs. They can be hidden behind the skirt board, in a recess in the wall, under the stairs, for floating stairs or in cable channels.

      @@mikeanderson8023 Thank you for your comment. Please note that this is not a promotional video. It's an instructional video prepared for our customers. It shows the installation steps that are specific to our stair light controller and common to all installation setups. The controller is usually placed under the stairs in a cabinet, but along with the way of hiding the cables, it depends on each location's specific circumstances and customer's preference. An electrician or your local handyman can give advice on both, once they understand your local setup.

    Your power supply requires 200-240V , how about for USA 110-120V?

    • @StellarlightingCoUk-London
      @StellarlightingCoUk-London  Год назад

      The stair light controller runs on 12-24V DC, so requires a power supply according to the local requirements. However, this type of controller is only available in the UK/EU.
      This is the stair light controller that's available from overseas: www.stellarlighting.co.uk/isl-32-stair-light
