I've been working with 2020 and I cannot get featureworks to even exist, let alone to actually do its job and I just don't understand it. I've wasted countless hours having to do everything and re-do everything manually. At most there's a featureworks option in the right click menu, but all it has is "options". Other than that, I have never had it ask me to run it on a new part or anything like that. I also went into the settings and enabled it like someone said on another video I watched... so I'm really not sure what to do. I really need it, but I just can't get it to run. Ever. (Several projects now from SLT, 3M, STEP and other formats, but not once has featureworks ever popped up or did anything at all).
Hi Sean, it could be due to the '3D Interconnect' option being turned on. You can find this setting inside the Import area of your SOLIDWORKS System Options. 3D Interconnect effectively allows you to open parts in SOLIDWORKS without converting them from their native format and can be very useful when working between CAD systems. However it isn't always what you want. If you'd like to learn more about it then this 6 minute video should help - ruclips.net/video/AfhSo0Gtc6k/видео.html
