Good question. Actually those rocks weren't going right there. We were trying to position them there and later we rolled them down further. At the foot of that section (bottom), hikers (we're guessing hikers) are starting to tread down off-trail sections. So instead of hiking up that section, they were skirting it and climbing up the embankment to the left of it (if facing it from bottom). The goal was attempt to add some form of barrier to help stop or reduce the damage being down there.

I hope you do more trail maintenance vids. I'm always curious with what their objective is when making changes.
