My fav for short clamps are Dewalt trigger clamps. I have the Bessey clamps you’re referring to and I use them, but they are a bit fidely when tightening. Bessey, (and a few others) makes pipe clamps. These are great when you clamp really wide glue-ups.

Absolutely! I haven’t tried the Dewalt trigger clamps but that’s a great tip.
