I'm glad I stumbled across this video I was just on the phone with Tony, DR is not far from where I live probably about a half hour away from my house but nevertheless, I have to ask you the main question...., what about the tension how is the tension 🤔I play by the back pick up and I like the tension hard and of course on a fretless bass I am always playing 5 string or 6 Thank you for your time
Hi Charles! The tension seems good, but to make sure you get the kind of tension you want, I'd suggest going with a heavier gauge than I did. These were a light gauge set, I believe, and don't quite have the tension that a heavier gauged set would have.
Dante Ramírez yeah, these wound sound good on a tele bass. But La Bella’s would sound even better. I always go with light gauge, but some prefer medium.
I've been playing with their black beauties for a number of years, so I'm looking forward to trying these out next! Thanks for the insightful vid :)
Your reviews and demos are top notch !
Robby Frick thank you so much Robby! That’s extremely kind!

@@charleslambiase5670 My pleasure, Charles! I think these were the light gauge.
Hi dude, great demo and testing dr flatwound legend. Do you recomend it to Squier Telecaster 4 string bass and what gauge? Cheers

Hi RM, is that a Fender base you're playing? Cool vid & thanks for the information.
Mike Dowell thanks Mike! That is actually a Squier Affinity Jazz Bass V that I’ve been making some changes to.
