Based on the bestselling novel by Thomas Perry, “The Old Man” centers on Dan Chase who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. With Dan Chase flushed out of hiding, the FBI’s Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive.
When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than the authorities expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is sent to pursue him as well. While on the run, Chase rents a room from Zoe McDonald who draws on reserves she never knew she had in order to survive the day when she learns the truth about her new tenant.

What's been your favorite action scene from The Old Man?
@Comic Taku best fight scene I've seen in a long time. So realistic, people actually getting fatigued and injured from punches. It was the most anti-hollywood action scene and it was freaking perfect
Aside from that night fight this one for sure.

Agree 100%! I’ll add that there are so many Wire alums that should be getting steady mainstream work right now.
FX didn't really advertise It that much, what with all the Mayans and Atlanta buzz.
I recommend It .
Imo a slow pace, reminiscent of Homeland but more insightful, and nuanced.
Also the action scenes are gripping.

This dude is so badass, and it's hard to find any wrong tactically with his actions. Spot on as far as I'm concerned. So NOT Hollywood fanboy crap.
why does the audio sound like someone recorded it with a potato at a movie theater?
Sound is hot garbage and does this scene a terrible disservice. The weapon handling, violence of action, and general high competency of Carson are all 🔥🔥

Well the show seems interesting but that cqb was more Call of Duty then actual technique. Slide kicking doors and knocking people over? The barrel of his pistol and rifle sticking out of door ways giving him away? Didn't pie a single doorway before going in, just did the CoD lean? Absolutely no situation awareness or covering angles going up the stairwell. And he did the hollywood gangster sideways pistol...with a rifle 🤦.
