    WHO KNEW Bangladesh was THIS BEAUTIFUL?! Watching the sunrise from our boat as we drifted the floating local market is our favorite memory in Bangladesh.
    After spending a couple days in the crazy capital of Dhaka, we took a 100 year old "rocket paddle steamer" boat overnight to the city of Barisal where we woke up before sunrise to catch all the action at the local river market!

    Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

    This is an absolutely amazing community! Car-free communities have been the rule for millions of years. Only within the last century have we designed our communities to make cars a necessity but it doesn't always have to be this way. We bring it on ourselves by our misplaced values in urban planning. The myth that the automobile makes life better has turned out to be a lie. The good news: With good urban planning, we can take back our communities for people and force automobiles into the fringes once again, even in the major urban centers of the West. It is already happening. It is safer. It is healthier. It is much less stressful.

    I love their foods.. I am Filipino but I am so curious about their foods that are just unique and tasty for my taste. I always go to the city to drop by in one mini restaurant in downtown Hamdan in Abu Dhabi. I just choose and choose into these array of Bangladeshi dishes ....Maybe just out of my curiosity ... And because their desserts are heavenly tasty and unique...It just always gives me smile in the face w/ satisfaction after I bought those Bangladeshi foods in containers. The store owner is also surprised that I am Filipino who love their foods so much regardless of our different taste preference. But to be honest I LOVED IT so much😍😍😍

    What a fantastic video. These are some of my favorites - off the beaten track, stopping in little villages and towns where the locals are living their genuine lives. It's so easy to forget sometimes, but life is really, really hard in some places on this earth. I think many of us take for granted to bottled water we buy, or the Starbucks beverage, or the fast food meal we get. It's more than most people make in one day, which can be the equivalent of hundreds of dollars for us. Can you imagine spending one day's pay on a Latte? It really puts into perspective to be more grateful for the small things.

    These people are proof that money doesn't make you happy. There is a sense of satisfaction that people who work hard derive from that work, that aside from those who do hard labor like farming, construction, road and bridge building, etc. don't have in the US. That minus the American obsession toward wealth envy makes for a more content and happier life. Joy is found in your family, friends, community and often faith, not in your things.

    Bangladesh is full of incredibly beautiful natural scenery and lovely, warm, genuine people. But I'm not sure this is really the best way to experience it all - far too rushed and hectic for my taste. Much better, in my opinion, to travel slowly from place to place, spending at least one week in a village before moving on to the next. Do that for a few months, absorbing and ruminating on your experiences, and there will open up to you not just new places but whole new worlds of life and ways of being. Of course, that might not be possible in practice, because of time constraints etc. Though if you do have time, I can't recommend it enough!

      @MikasaAckerman-mt1cm 3 года назад

      @@Samual.adis.Najmani not all places in Bangladesh are unclean . It's actually a huge problem of the major cities. Overpopulation causes almost all problems in our country. An over-populated country, with a comparatively small land area, a low average income, an immensity of natural beauty in the land and in the people, but a meagre supply of civic consciousness, -all those factors do not combine to create a propitious climate for cleanliness in the slums.
      Dirty and clean are upon on the positions. It is not an issue to be questioned. Dhaka is the capital, many positions are too clean and beautiful by its nature and some poor places are dirty. It is not only Dhaka but also in other cities too.
      The curse of the plastic shopping bags, especially, has rendered some spots in a beautiful land eyesores.

    *Actually, bangladesh 🇧🇩 is a very diverse country. I am not just talking about ethnic or religious diversity. I am talking about all type of diversity.* There are rich neighborhoods similar to European countries. At the same time, there are also slums. Bangladesh has world's fastest growing rich population. at the same time, you will find very poor people here. You will find extreme secularists and also very religious people. And all type of natural beauties. A green small country with a rich history. Dhaka used to be one of the wealthiest cities in the world before the British arrival. Bengalis used to have higher Living quality than Europeans. This country suffered alot. In 200 years of British rule, Bengal🇧🇩 became one of the poorest place in the world from one of the richest. And then, 23 years of Pakistani atrocities and looting made it more poor. In 1971, the country was destroyed. 3 million people killed were killed by Pakistani forces. 30 Millions displaced. Bangladesh is trying to rise again. We all wants to make Bengal🇧🇩 Great again♥️😊

    I’ve been to a few missions trips before. I must say your attitude and the way you view different cultures and people with such a loving and caring spirit is beautiful. In a way you have been given a very impactful platform and you have such an opportunity to impact so many. What a gift. You have inspired me to have a better attitude and outlook on life. God bless you.

    Most parts of Turkey is like Mongolian steps with no forests, no rivers, just hilly and arid topography, 8 months cold weather. Bangladesh and forests, rivers are amazing and like heaven on earth compared to arid, cold places that many of us are living in right now.
