Yesssss. Anticipation is SO key. And so many media think they have enough footage, or worry about editing it all after that they limit themselves in the shoot…. They suffer later unfortunately.
He’s so right! The amount of photos I give out I get almost ridiculed in my circle for “not making money” but bro, growing the sport isn’t about selfish, if it’s cool, let people post it, I already made my money.
Thats exactly it!!! When I started, I gave away so much and got ridiculed for it. But like anything new, you need to give it away for free first to get it out in the market. Dont listen to the doubters and hater. Stick true to your North Star.
I don’t think you could have had a better first guest. So many thoughts running through my head that could be comments. Maybe the most outstanding is Sal’s desire for more collaboration and his practicing what he preaches. You’ve seen what I do, goofy little videos done on an iPad. I think it was after Cup last year I asked Sal if I could use one of his clips. His response, not quite verbatim but close - Sure. You can use my stuff anytime you want. Great episode (what do we call it? Episode 1.1?) in no small part due to a first great guess. Kudos Dan.

People say they want to grow the sport but it feels like they want to grow themselves in the sport. Build those relationships. The money will come.
