He was confirmed a previous boyfriend of Girlfriend, he's the only antagonist right now that can affect the health bar as he's singing, his notes *light up* as if he's hitting them, he has some sort of reason to hate Girlfriend's Dad...

Black gem notes only happen in the end of tutorial, disconnected, and in the mode that converts it all to gem notes, I think that’s just them kind of going more hard on you or just using anything they found, like gems, to fight ya and make it harder

Since Tabi used to date Girlfriend, he's forcing Boyfriend to play the role of the many opponents he's defeated, because Tabi was once in his shoes: rapping against anyone in the way of him and his Girlfriend's happiness. And look where THAT got him. He's giving Boyfriend a taste of his own medicine, and it's not out of spite, it's not out of karma: it's an inevitability. The VS. Tabi mod has an interesting and incredible backstory at the same time.
According to Tabi's lore, Tabi used to be Girlfriend's BF with an actual human body and everything. But because of the incident with Daddy Dearest, Tabi no longer has a visible body, forcing him to have a floating skull and skeletal hands and hide in the shadows waiting for the right time to get revenge. After a year of hiding, Tabi finds GF in a restaurant with BF. He finally gets an opportunity for revenge after what GF's dad has done to him. And so the battle begins.
Some other things to ask are:
What did Tabi do to deserve this?
What did Tabi meant when he said that "GF used him"?
There's more questions.
But as much as I could, I only explained what I understand. Some questions can only be answered by the creator of Tabi.

From my personal perspective, I would say Overtime from the IPU update gives either strong or even equal competition.
Imagine, the first stage of this remix is tabi(already how it is), the second is expurgation tricky, the third is ballistic beatstreets whitty, then a dang near impossible tabi phase, followed by the long notes at the end of tabi's normal genocide, but the long notes are replaced by super-bunched up rapid notes(like brokenstreets tricky).

My only issue is that when they’re singing the other songs, (Madness, Ballistic, Foolhardy) Tabi’s vocals aren’t easily recognizable at those songs. It might just be the way his voice is constructed, but it really bothers me, because it all just sounds like Genocide.
Yeah, I barely hear Madness, Ballistic, or Foolhardy in Tabi’s voice. I think it’s because all the notes don’t change the shape of it audio wise, so it still sounds like Genocide.

What I find really cool about this remix is that it’s usually boyfriend who initiates the referenced songs like he’s remembered all of them and is putting their beats to use
